Features

  • SAWSTOP PATENTED SAFETY SYSTEM: Stops a spinning blade on contact with skin. The blade stops in less than 5 milliseconds, and drops below the table, minimizing a potentially life-altering injury to a mere scratch.
  • UNMATCHED QUALITY: The trunnion and arbor are built for precision, strength and stability. Poly v-ribbed belts reduce vibration and help ensure a great cut. Table flatness is measured diagonally at 0.010 maximum gap.
  • RELIABILITY: The Control Box houses the on-off switch, power paddle, and on-board computer, and constantly checks that all systems are working to reliably keep you safe.
  • CONFIGURABILITY: Over 150 unique configurations, makes the Contractor Saw the most configurable SawStop saw. Adding a mobile base, sliding crosscut table or router table, are just a few of the ways to make this your ideal saw.
  • UNIVERSAL PERFORMANCE: The Contractor Saw offers versatility, reliability and safety for a variety of users. The cast iron table top (Cast Iron Wing Assembly, CNS-CIWA, sold separately) creates a better-than-hybrid performance in the shop at an affordable price.
  • 52-INCH T-GLIDE FENCE ASSEMBLY: The 52-inch T-Glide Fence & Rail are made of heavy-gauge steel for sure lockdown and reliably square cutting for years without deflection.

Style: W/ 52" T-Glide Fence
This is a great saw. I love mine but there are a couple drawbacks. The first one is the safety stop being a good idea and great feature can also be set off without touching it with your flesh. If you hit a nail or use wood that's to,wet it will set the brake off and you've gotta get everything replaced. The second downfall is for those with limited space it is a good sized saw and will take up a lot of room. That was actually a feature I liked so I ended up "making space" to get mine in. When you go to assemble it you'll appreciate having a helping hand. One to help lift it and to hold some of the heavier items. Set aside about 3-4 hours for assembly and what little alignment you have to do. Overall it's a great great saw. I wish I'd had it about a month earlier than I did then I may still have all my fingers. By the way the braking system works impeccably because I hit a nail with it. It couldn't have happened at a worse time but I looked at my wife and a huge grin came on my face and I simply said "that was awesome" and trust me it was. If your looking for a great saw this is it. I highly recommend getting one for safety and also for features. If you have limited room this saw could be to big. I hope you enjoy your saw and good woodworking. ... show more

  • Outstanding! Quality Saw.
Style: W/ 52" T-Glide Fence
This saw is top quality. I just finished the assembly with the all the options took a whole day. The options i purchased were the following: Dust Panel Over Arm Dust Dust Collection Dust collection Blade Guard Cast Iron Wings Extension Tables Mobile Base Dado Brake Dado Insert The instructions and hardware were unbelievably easy to follow. Everything is color coded with large color coded plastic precise Instructions. All hardware on color coded blister packs keyed to the instructions. This total purchase was over 3 grand however after assembling this beauty you will be very proud of this gorgeous top quality saw. I cant say enough about How pleased I am with this saw. My previous saw was the Dewalt Contractor Saw with rolling stand and i must saw it is a toy compared to this saw. Everything i struggled with on my old saw is solved with this new saw stop saw. You can only appreciate this saw until you have paid your dues with a lessor saw. The award winning safety brake system gives you a real peace of mind. Buying a saw without this technology is a major gamble I do not have to worry about anymore. ... show more

  • Amazing saw, very accurate and quiet
Style: W/ 52" T-Glide Fence
I purchased this for my husband after he had some wood kick back on a Kobalt job site saw and it pushed his finger into the blade. After an extremely stressful day in the ER and a three week recovery time for his finger, I decided I didn’t want to risk going through that again (him or I). So Saw Stop it was. The saw itself is obviously on the higher end price wise, and there’s a reason for it. Even though we haven’t tested out the blade break and drop feature (and hopefully never need to), the quality of this saw is WORTH IT. It’s significantly quieter than our previous saw, it’s cuts are much much cleaner, and the T fence is much more square than the regular fence. It’s an incredible tool. I highly reccomend you save up and get a good one instead of jumping and buying a cheaper one and risking greater injury and less quality work. ... show more

Style: W/ 52" T-Glide Fence
Had the Saw for about two years now. Saw it self works great, but when cutting wider boards the measurement is off even though its set at the desired width indication with the fence, have to use a 48" ruler to set the correct distance from fence to saw blade to get the desired width, Measure twice and cut once is the idea, not cutting twice. Smaller width cuts is dead on though. Overall saw performs great. ... show more

  • Buy the saw. Keep your fingers. Deal with the annoyances.
Style: W/ 52" T-Glide Fence
I've had this saw for almost 3 years. It is a good saw. I've been using it with the incra 72 inch fence so I can't speak to the quality of the original fence. From what I have heard, it is a fine way to go, but I do very much enjoy the incra. I also have one cast iron wing on the right and a router mounted in a peachtree wing on the left. Having the iron wings when dealing with sheet goods makes a huge difference and is a major upgrade over the factory stamped steel wings. As much as I like the saw, I did have a few problems with it. 1. I ended up with play in the arbor at about the 2 year mark. Sawstop was helpful in trying to troubleshoot things -- the electronics were indicating wet wood and would not allow the saw to run. After swapping the cartridge numerous times, installing a new harness, I finally noticed the play in the arbor. They sent parts and instructions next day air, but it did take 2 shipments before they sent the part that finally fixed it -- a new arbor assy. So yes, great service if you are willing to do the labor and assist in the troubleshooting. 2. I also had a start capacitor die at about 26 months. I didn't contact sawstop, but I was able to replace the capacitor for <$10. 3. I've also found that the mechanism that raises and lowers the blade gets so that it will not allow the 10" blade to lower all the way below the table without excessive force. Best I can tell, it is a sawdust management issue. I'm not using a dust collector, and perhaps that could resolve this issue. 4. Not really a problem, but I did trip the brake when nicking the aluminum fence on my incra miter gauge. It was good to see that the sensor worked, but I got to buy a new brake and replace a week old blade. That was a $125 oops. Part of me would prefer a simple unisaw without a bunch of electronics, but the other part of me likes my fingers. I'm also not a fan of Sawstop's politics/litigation, and I like seeing other companies (Bosch) coming up with their own solutions to missing fingers. If Bosch made a comparable saw, I would buy that instead. All that said, this is currently the only game in town for this style saw, and if I were shopping right now, I would purchase this again. ... show more

  • I had no idea cutting wood could be so much more fun and accurate
Style: W/ 52" T-Glide Fence
Went from a beginners portable saw to this. I had no idea cutting wood could be so much more fun and accurate, not to mention the safety. Don't know if it works and hope I never have to find out just like air bags in cars, but I do feel better knowing it is there. This thing is a dream to use. The fence just glides and when it is locked it is straight. This is a hefty beautiful piece. Called tech assistance for my misunderstanding of instructions and they couldn't have been nicer. One of the rubber caps was damaged and they immediately replaced it. Quiet, smooth and so much more fun to use. ... show more
