  • They Work and They Keep My Hands Warm
Size: Large Style: Grey
I bought these mittens after extensive internet research. I was skeptical because the price was very reasonable compared to the other heated mittens I found. Other models, not found on Amazon, cost from $250 - $400. I was VERY hesitant to pay that much for mittens. But, on the other hand, I was suffering greatly from very cold hands. I'm a backcountry skier and ski about 65 days a years. On a typical outing, I'm out for 3-8 hours. As I've gotten older, my hands won't stay warm on these trips. I bought top-of-the-line Black Diamond mittens but even they would not keep my hands warm. Then I started using the hand warmers in my mittens. Hand warmers worked pretty well, but my thumbs would still get very cold. As of January, 2023, I could not keep my hands warm while out skiing. So being out all day was getting pretty miserable because of my cold hands. Then I found the Savior Heat Heated Mittens. $119 seemed very reasonable for heated mittens so I bought them. In addition, I bought 2 pairs of 3000mah batteries. The batteries that come with the mittens are only 2200mah and last about 2.5 - 3 hours on the Medium setting. The 3000mah batteries last about 4.5 hours. With two sets of 3000mah batteries, I can keep my hands warm all day. These mittens are truely "Saviors" for me. I didn't realize how miserable I was with my cold hands until I wore these. Suddenly, I could go out skiing for the day in below zero temps and keep my hands warm. However, when the temps are 15 degrees Fahrenheit, or below, I found the mitten barely kept my hands warm on the medium setting. So then I started wearing the mitten shells from my Black Diamond mitten shells over the Savior Heated Mitten when it was below 15 degree F. With that combo, I could be out all day in -5 to +15f and my hands were comfortable on the medium setting. If you don't need hours of heat, you could turn them up to the high setting. But I needed to make them last all day. So far I have skied 37 days with these mittens. Backcountry skiing is pretty hard on glove or mittens because you're gripping your ski poles for hours as you hike in and climb peaks. But these mittens are still working. I bought a second pair as a backup, but I have not needed them yet. If you need these mittens for shoveling your drive or going for a short walk, the included batteries should be fine. But if you find you need the high setting, then the included batteries will probably only last 1.5 hours. I highly recommend these mittens. There are a couple reasons I gave the mittens only 4 stars: 1. The pouch the holds the battery in each mitten seals with velcro and it's very difficult to pull apart to get the batteries out. And even more difficult with cold hands. They could easily fix this by sewing a pull tab on the closure to help you get the velcro separated. 2. The On/Off and heat setting switch is located on the back of the mitten; eg, above the back of your hand. Because of this location, my ski pole strap goes right across this and can accidentally turn off the heater. This could be fixed by moving the On/Off button up to the mitten cuff near the opening of the mitten. I have seen other heated mittens on Amazon that have the On/Off button on the upper mitten cuff rather than over the back of the hand. But even with these two minor problems, I'd buy them again. ... show more

  • Fit great and product is high quality.
Size: Medium Style: Black
I think I finally found a pair of heated gloves that will work. I'm 74 and blood flow into hands isn't like it used to be. My thumbs would literally freeze when blowing snow. I haven't used them yet but charged them up to see if they heated my whole hand including my thumbs. They heated much better than the 2 pairs I purchased prior to these and heated my thumbs. High quality gloves and heat quickly. ... show more

  • A Great Option For Cold Days!
Size: Large Style: Grey
Before ski season actually started I bought a pair of Savior Heated Mittens, but due to warm weather and late snowfall it hasn’t been cold enough to try them out, finally last week we hit several very cold (single digit) days. This review is based on three rather cold days skiing in the Savior Heated Mittens, I should also mention that I have a pair of Savior Heated gloves that I’ve used for about a year. So last week I woke up to a temperature around 8°F, it seemed a perfect day to try out my new heated mittens. For those unaware, mittens are generally considered warmer than gloves because your fingers can keep each other warm, and there’s less surface area for heat loss. I immediately noticed the increased warmth of the mittens over the Savior glove, in fact they were warm enough that I didn’t need to turn the heaters on for the first hour or so, however it was a powder day when I ski more aggressively and generate more body heat. When I did turn the mittens on they heated quickly and warmed my fingers, I left them on for the rest of the day and my hands remained warm and comfortable. The controls on the mittens are similar to the gloves, you hold the button down and the mittens turn on to the high level, press again for medium, and once more for low. The mitten controls however have been improved over my Savior gloves, it is now more difficult to inadvertently turn the heaters on or off, they now require you to hold the button for about two seconds for either operation (the current models of Savior gloves may be the same, I find with my older gloves that my pole straps or carrying can easily turn them on). So Savior has listened to their customers and made this change for the better. The battery life is roughly the same, about six hours on low, four hours on medium, and two hours on high. If your hands are always cold I would recommend the Savior Heated Mitten for regular use, if you can afford two choices the Savior Heated Gloves make a good option for less extreme temperatures. Two pairs will also give you a second set of batteries for use with either pair, on cold days when I plan to be out all day, I carry a second set of batteries so I can use the medium or high settings if needed. I should mention I work part time as a Mountain Host at Park City Mountain, on work days I must stay out on the mountain as long as the lifts are open and having a heated glove or mitten makes the cold much more tolerable. I hope to soon also have a review of the Savior Heated Liner up on Amazon, a bonus of staying with a single brand is the interchangeable batteries (see photos). So I welcome the Savior Heated Mittens into my glove ‘quiver’. I ski almost every day and have gloves and now mittens for every occasion, and though because of greater flexibility and dexterity I still prefer gloves for daily use, they aren’t always warm enough, and mittens do the job. Stay warm and ski on! ⛷ Pro tip! On work days (fun days too) I sometimes need to use my phone when on the chairlift or the slopes. Though they only add slightly for warmth, I’ve found the Savior workout gloves make a nice liner so I can take my hand out of the mitten or glove and have a little protection while using my iPhone! 📱 ... show more
