This Saris fluid trainer is a breath of fresh air compared to my old, clunky, Blackburn mag trainer. The smooth, quiet roller operates at an acceptable noise level in the house. The fluid resistance gives a more realistic feel, more like being on the road bike. The harder you work the harder the resistance, just like the real world. As far as the mechanics of the roller, this is like an automatic transmission compared to a manual transmission. I really like the way the trainer engages with the back axel of my bike. The spring loaded, lever/cam operated engagement is perfect, somooth, quick and easy. Much better than a "screw" type axel capture mechanism. I also like the torque limited tensioner adjust knob which allows the same load from ride to ride. I recommend this product. ... show more

Installation was a breeze. Took me 20 minutes from out of the box to assembly completion. Most difficult part was to get the resistance unit fixed to the frame. Saris provides online manuals and a quick glance to the picture with the completely assembled unit helps too. I use this trainer with my SunSeeker EZ recumbent which has a plush, broad seat with back support. Sturdy trainer construction, not too loud when exercising (I plug LOOPs into my ears), and I will see how this works out for reducing my winter belly body fat. One definitely needs an uplift unit to place the front wheel on. This Fluid2 trainer is the most basic indoor bike trainer. I like that. ... show more

Enjoying this trainer. Works with 120mm frame track bikes with nutted axles. The progressive resistance feels good but need to play with gearing to replicate riding on a track. 48x17 is close to 48x15 on the track.
