Perfect replacement! The kit included pretty much everything I needed to complete the switch, the only thing not included was a heat source to warm the adhesive for removal of the old screen. Dropped my older iPad and cracked the screen enough that chunks were missing and small shards ended up in my fingers. Watch several videos before trying to perform a replacement. Each video has a useful tip or two that you can combine for a relatively easy job. Once the old screen and glass were out I worked on the replacement. This comes with a strip of double sided tape to use around the edges. Some units have adhesive on the screen itself which is likely easier. I found the biggest issue with the glass being the corner where the two sockets attach to the iPad under the digital screen. Even though everything seems good, there is more material than OEM and that side doesnt want to sit flat. Maybe I did something wrong, but couldnt figure out where the electric strip goes to sit flat. After taking it apart several times I gave up and will just live with it. The home button set off a warning that it didnt function. I tried to replace with the original and it doesnt work now either. The iPad can function without the home button, but more of a hassle. I'll find some case that goes over the edge to ensure the glass doesnt come off, but disappointed I couldnt get it to work better. They did provide a screen protector to put over the glass, but I held it by the corner and it broke. It still works, but that is a lot more fragile than anticipated. Be very careful handling it and also placing on the screen to prevent air bubbles. Because it is a stiff protection glass you cannot roll it on to eliminate bubbles. Someone with skill could probably do it well. I could not. Overall, I didnt spend much and have an intact screen on the iPad I mostly use on my gym equipment, so still worth it. ... show more

I am so happy I purchased this product. I had cracked the iPad screen a year ago and had It put away because I couldn’t get myself to throw it in e waste. I decided to take a change and see if I could replace it on my own before spending hundreds at a little repair shop. Included is the before screen before it was removed and the after. Please note the touch circle will not work because it’s not an authentic apple part but for the price, this is absolutely AMAZING!!!! Some tips while repairing : have a quiet space to work Keep track of where the screws go that you will remove from your motherboard they are different sizes and very tiny. This is very tedious. Do not rush. Be very gentle and careful during this process to avoid a break or tear in the parts attached to the new screen. This product saved me a few hundred dollars and I would definitely recommend!!! ... show more

Background: I am a self-proclaimed tech geek, have built many PCs and have completed several PC, Phone, and Printer repairs. This was my first adventure into the iPad repair space and the objective was to repair my daughter's cracked iPad screen. I looked up a couple videos on YouTube and watched the support video provided with this product and felt prepared. The process was more painstaking than I could have imagined. What I pegged as a couple hour job took me about 5 hours. Removing the old cracked glass is a complete pain (wear gloves and work on a solid surface so vacuuming/sweeping up the tiny shards of glass is easier). Once I got the old glass removed, I followed the detailed instructions to clean the metal casing edge well so the new screen would stick flush. When I went to gently press the new screen to the casing, it cracked in two places. So frustrating! I am giving this product 3 stars because I believe it is high value and gives you everything you need to complete the repair. The digitizer is highly responsive and seems to work well. However I wish the screen was more durable and the instructions from the seller were a bit more detailed (again I had to supplement with other videos on YouTube). Ultimately, I am not sure what I could have done different/better to join the new screen to the casing without it cracking. That all being said, if you are up for a tech challenge, this kit provides everything you need (minus the hair dryer/heat gun to loosen the adhesive) to replace an iPad screen. Buyer beware: the screen is extremely fragile and the process is painstaking. Good luck! Note: The bubbles you see in the picture are from the additional tempered glass screen protector (that comes with this kit) that I put on afterward to help prevent further cracking of the main digitizer screen below. ... show more
