I have has several sets of sango dishes and just bought this set. I am very disappointed... Compared to my old sets the quality has taken huge dive. The glaze looks cheap with not as much depth. It looks almost like it was printed on. Then the biggest issue the bowls included in this set are a joke. The are super small not sure what you would use them for, maybe ice cream. They are half the size of my old set. Overall very disappointed, they are slightly better quality then some off brand you can get from Amazon. But certainly not the quality I was expecting when ordering sango. ... show more

My wife picked out this Sango Asher dinnerware set, and I have to say, she made a great choice. These are getting five stars from me because they are heavy-duty, look sharp, and most importantly, she's thrilled with them. What I like right away is that these plates and bowls have some real substance. They're not like those thin, cheap-feeling dishes that seem like they'll chip if you look at them wrong. These have a good weight to them, which I appreciate. The gray color with that reactive glaze finish looks very classy on the table. Each piece is slightly different, which gives them a custom, high-end look without a crazy price tag. They handle the microwave just fine and come out of the dishwasher looking perfect, which makes cleanup easy. There's not much to dislike here. Being stoneware, they are heavier than our old porcelain plates, but that's part of what makes them feel so durable. You just have to be a little more mindful when stacking them. For a set of everyday dishes that look good enough for when we have company over, these are excellent. They feel built to last, and they passed the most important test: my wife loves them. I've been using the same dinnerware for a whole decade and I wanted something new. So I came across this stoneware/dinnerware 12 piece set by Sango. This set of dishes is incredibly well made. They have a nice color to them and they are a sturdy set. You can feel a nice heaviness to all the dishes. The other day I used the bowls for a soup and the big plates for a complete dinner. I love that the plates have a slight upwards curve to prevent things from sliding off. I also used them in the microwave. This is a very nice dishware set, and not a bad deal, especially for such good quality. They are also surprising light, they do have a slight weight to them, obviously, but not overly so. The color is good, matte grey on the bottom which also is textured and gives a better grip, a shine on top that brings out the nice pattern, and they feel really well made/sturdy. They also have a nice thickness and the plate edge slightly curves up which helps stop food from running off so easily.
