  • Pretty Good, Mid-Tier sound
Style: HW-S60D Pattern: Soundbar
I've paired it with a Samsung 75" Q7F TV, and I am very pleased with this combination. * It was EASY to set up and pair with the TV. I literally connected it to the TV, plugged it into the power, and it connected to tv automatically * The Q-Symphony is wonderful and it gives added depth to whatever we are hearing. * As I age, hearing voices and dialog is becoming increasingly difficult. But the adaptive sound makes dialog very easy to understand. * Sound is quite good, although an audiophile would probably find it somewhat lacking. But as a causal TV viewer, and a casual music listener, it is more than adequate for me. * I would say the sound is roughly equivalent to my Edifer under $200 bookshelf speakers, but it uses the Samsung TV speakers to add an additional presence in the sound. Bass is good, and while what I hear isn't top shelf, what I hear is quite good for the money. The midtones and the higher tones are crisp and clear. The sound is NOT audiophile quality, but it is still very good. * I can control the Sound bar from the TV remote almost completely. Very useful. The only negative I've encountered is I am having trouble connecting my WIIM bluetooth streamer to the combination. WIIM only offers a wired connection to to the receiving device like a stereo or TV, and neither the TV nor the soundbar offer a 3.5 mm aux in socket. I will continue to look for a solution, I refuse to believe it can't be done. For users of non-Samsung TVs, it will give you a good mid-tier soundbar experience. But the S60D really steps up the game when it connects to a Q series Samsung TV. All the 'special' stuff this soundbar offers can only be used with a Q series TV set. I would likely have to spend more money on a soundbar for a non Samsung TV to get the same level of performance I am receiving with a Q Series pair up. It offers excellent value for the Q series TV owner. I am happy with my purchase and I can recommend it to others. ... show more

  • Clear, Full Range and loud.
Style: HW-S60D Pattern: Soundbar
My selection of this soundbar is for a very specific situation, but one in which other will share. The soundbar was purchased primarily for my mother's use, late in life, who was having trouble hearing the TV (A Samsung 2025 32inch). The sound was OK, but she was running the volume in the 80s to hear it adequately. She doesn't care about surround sound just volume and clarity. It also had to have a maximum width of 26 inches to fit on the TV stand with the TV. This bar fit the bill. The sound is clear, full range and loud. She now has the volume set around 15. QSymphony is enabled which widens the overall sound field, top to bottom. The TV speakers seem to emphasize dialog. The bass is just fine, I had to turn it down a bit for her. I found it was much easier to setup using the SmartThings app on my phone than use the remote. Highly recommended for those with Samsung TVs that support QSymphony and need a compact soundbar. Also worth noting that price was a consideration. For this use case it didn't warrant spending thousands. She enjoys her TV shows much more now. ... show more

  • Blows Vizio out of the water.
Style: HW-S60D Pattern: Soundbar
I grabbed this on sale at 250 hoping it would be better than my previous soundbars. I had an Insiginia that was too tinny, and old, so it made sense... and I have been rocking 2 Vizio M Series bars, 2 different models, on 2 different eARC Dolby Atmos setups. When I upgraded to an OLED recently I noticed that both of the Vizio Soundbars had a terrible issue of cutting out low bass frequencies when at low volumes and it started to drive me absolutely nuts. There is nothing physically or functionally wrong with either of the Vizio bars, it's just how they are - and that's a huge problem. They were also both 2.1 speakers. Now this Samsung blows every soundbar I've heard out of the water. Got it out of the box today, setup was easy enough, remote functions well and the instructions made it easy to figure out... this thing has the perfect thumping bass I was looking for. Not quiet, you can feel it in your chest a bit, but it isn't blowing the room apart or muddying the other sounds and tones. The extra speakers compared to what I had are surely helping, but it also has great quality for my games, PS5, Switch, All of my retro systems running through a Retrotink 4K, from NES to PS3 era... it all sounds great and works well with this bar. And no more annoying poppy crackling, in and out low frequency bass at low volumes - and trust me I checked with my ear right on the thing at the lowest possible volumes. It sounds great! The best tip I can give, be sure to find the best "base" setting you like first, for me it was Game mode, then adjust your bass and sub levels with the remote, then treble, and THEN, do your channel level. I'd suggest focusing on the center first then boost or lower your side speakers. It sounds great. I'm very happy. Paired right away no issues at all with the LG B4 OLED 48". If you're like me and already have a bunch of stuff plugged up and want an all in one soundbar with no separate subwoofer or speakers for a bedroom-sized setup, look no further. You've found one of the best, especially for the price. Even came with the mounting bits - but you WILL need to provide 2 of your own screws and possibly drywall anchors to put the mount hinges up, those are not included! ... show more

  • Perfect for a small room where volume/bass isn't the priority
Style: HW-S60D Pattern: Soundbar
The S60D works fine on non-Samsung TV's, eARC didn't have any trouble with an LG C3 and the sync is fine. My intended use for this is a small bedroom TV, where I wanted better dialog clarity, not more volume. The "adaptive" sound setting seems quite good so I just leave it on that. All audio enhancements I leave off, but the "night mode" setting is effective at knocking down the bass that would generate some noise through an interior wall. Considering the low price, dedicated center channel, and overall audio quality, I'm happy with it. There's not a lot of bass or left/right separation, just due to the small physical dimensions of the product, but for me these are essentially pros, not cons. The one complaint I do have is there's no numerical indicator for the settings, so you can adjust volume, treble/bass, channel levels, and there's a little strip of led lights in the grill that do left/right patterns to show the direction, but you have no idea what you're adjusting them to, just up or down. Maybe the app provides this functionality, but I'm just using the remote. ... show more

  • Absolutely Perfect blend of vocal emphasis, rich tonality, and rich movie sound! Absolutely Perfect blend of vocal emphasis, rich tonality, and rich movie sound!
Style: HW-S60D Pattern: Soundbar
Was skeptical at first, but now I'm convinced that this is almost a must-have accesory for the 43inch TV that despite all the technology, it has only 2 real speakers, and the other 2 are virtual or wave-guide at the top of the cabinet . The sound of my new Samsung 2024 43" Neo QED was a little thin in the mids and highs, almost to the point of strident at times. The larger Samsung TVs in the series have 8 speakers. So I bought 2 apple mini HomePods, connected to my apple TV 4K, and a heard big improvement in tonality, lows, mids and highs. A forum reviewer I read said this set-up gets you 80% of what a soundbar gives you at this price point. So I hesitated to buy the soundbar after already purchasing the mini-home pods. While the HomePod's sound was richer over the native TV speakers, voice clarity, tonality and separation from the other sounds, music and bass, was still making dialogue hard to understand, at times, forcing me to turn -up the volume, to attempt to hear the dialogue better. This increased volume overemphasized the bass, even with "less bass" selected in the HomePod settings. Bring on the Q-symphony S-series sound bar. the sound is not like a large home theater set-up, but the sound is still quite a revelation! Vocal sounds are clear and with good tonality, and exceptionally clear. And then movie sounds come in with nice separation and emphasis, across the frequency spectrum in a very 3-dimensional manner, similar to how a home theatre setup would render the sound, but with a little less drama. NOTES on Set-up of the Samsung Soundbar when connecting to the newer Samsung TV: I originally set the soundbar up over wifi, but then it would not turn on automatically with my apple TV. I found out auto-on of the soundbar with the TV, is only when connected either optically or via HDMI. I redid the connection over "HDMI out to e-arc in on the TV." Now the Soundbar turns on with the TV. I installed the soundbar with the Samsung "My Home Smart Things App" (easy), and then in the TV audio settings I have Q-Symphony set-up to use both the sound bar and TV speakers in synch. Also I have adaptive sound selected or turned on which allows Samsung's AI, to tailor the frequency response and synchronization of all speakers, to the content being played to maintain a balanced sound appropriate to the media genre. Over 1/2 of our listening to the TV in the kitchen is news programing, and the addition of the soundbar is a game changer with our wonderful, Samsung 43" QN90D Neo QLED 4K TV 2024. Picture shows the Soundbar directly below and in front of the TV on a corner shelf. ... show more

  • The sound bar Is of good quality
Style: HW-S60D Pattern: Soundbar
Definately love it. The sound is so good, I thought being a 5.0 the bass will underperform, but nah, I really don’t need anything more than that, this is just fine for the house.
