    • Nice TV but missing some key functions
I have the 2022 32" model and it really is a beautiful tv. However, I think it's important for others to know it has serious functionality issues. I, like most people, chose the Frame because it is in a place in my house where artwork would be preferable to a tv. So having the best of both worlds was appealing. The 32" model, it must be highlighted, does NOT contain a motion sensor to turn on the art as you come and go out of the room. So it's on all the time. Fine. The TV has the ability to turn off if no light is detected in the room. But off means off. In the morning there is no function to turn the TV on automatically. Fine. I set up a routine in Smart Things to turn the TV on after sunrise and off after X time at night. Now... this is where the FAILURE on Samsung's part comes in. In the settings you can set the TV to auto start in "Home Screen", "Last App Used" or "Samsung TV". The ability to auto start in ART MODE is not an option. Given the main focus of the frame tv is the ART feature of it this is mind boggling. So to put this in real world context. I have a roku attached to the tv or streaming an app on SmartHub. I'm watching my streams before bed. I turn the tv off and fall asleep. The next morning I have to remember to grab the remote, turn the tv on, change from the roku (or whatever I have the Auto Start set to) to Art Mode before I head out to work. Remember to do it... everyday. A simple update from Samsung to add "Auto Start in Art Mode" would solve this issue entirely. Couldn't hurt for them to add a "Auto Turn on the TV if light is detected in the room" either. I've tried to contact them but my efforts have gone nowhere. The other thing that would be handy is if you could change the inputs using a button on the remote. As of right now you need to go into the Smart Hub, and change the source there. You can set up Alexa in the tv and then you can tell the remote to switch the source by holding down the mic button. It would not take away from or impede function of the remote by adding a second row of buttons under the 3 app buttons. One for settings, one for input and one for Art (and make the power button just a power button not a Power and Art Mode toggle button, requiring my guests to know that you have to HOLD down on the power button in order to turn off the tv.
