This is our second QLED 4k smart tv from Samsung. They are very good televisions. The picture quality is top notch and personally I think Samsung TVs have better pictures than LG, Sony, Roku and Fire TVs. Very quick and easy to set up. It connects to the wifi smoothly and keeps a solid connection. This one is in our kitchen and it is great for watching the news while eating or something entertaining while cooking/cleaning. The remote charges by solar so we will see how that works. We stream spectrum, netflix, prime, hulu, apple tv, disney, starz, and HBO with very little difficulty (the spectrum app buffers more than any other current streaming app.) I especially like the samsung tv app which has free channels and is similar to Roku tv, Fire tv, etc. free channels. That app is on both QLED TVs we have but not on older Samsung TVs. The QLED TV initially came with a voice assistant "bixby" that I've never found useful. They have the ability to use Alexa. I've set it up on both and had mixed results using it to turn the TVs off. The Samsung remote for these TVs is very streamlined and some may find it less interactive than a traditional remote with many buttons. The price for this TV is fair and it is a better TV than competitors priced in the $100-200 range but if you're price conscious or on a budget I'm not sure you would find the improved picture and smart features worth the extra cost. We recently switched to Spectrum "cable" which no longer uses a set-top box and the app is NOT compatible on Fire TVs and is clunky on Roku TVs so I needed a good TV that can reliably stream spectrum and this one does. The internal speaker is not great, but TV speakers almost never are so that's not unusual. I have an older Samsung soundbar I hooked to it and it sounds great. We buy only Samsung TVs and have been very happy with them, even though we do not buy the latest models out which saves us a great deal of money, but still gives us great quality. ITV was delivered on time and wasn’t perfect shape when we received it. As usual AMAZON has done a great job.

    • Was Expecting More from Samsung - Though the Picture is Pretty Good
This should have been an easy replacement for my old non-smart LED TV that ran on a Roku. Samsung has apparently decided that a pretty picture overcomes pain-in-the-butt usability. So I'll give them their due - the TV does have a very good picture and it turns on almost immediately. If that's all you want and you're happy living off of their "hub" that starts up, then this might be a 4 or 5 star for you. The dings I'm giving it may be considered small things depending on how you use your TV in a particular room, but these shortcomings are things I use almost every time I use the TV. Let's start with setup. Samsung apparently believes that you must have an account with Samsung in order to use this TV at even a basic level. Since I was setting it up in the middle of the night, I skipped past that and just plugged in my Roku so I don't have to use their minimalist remote. Apparently you cannot install apps on the TV without that Samsung account and it doesn't come with the YouTube TV app already installed - which I can't install until I decide to create a Samsung account. And without that account, I can't even tell if they have a YouTube TV app. That's two dings. It only comes with apps for about 4 of the 7 streaming services I need from what I can tell (without an account). Next, the pitiful remote. Now I have a newer remote from another 2-letter brand that's actually worse, but this one is pretty close to that bad. 1) no specific mute button (you press the volume toggle to mute - the only thing better than the other brand), 2) no sleep timer button, and 3) some functions are combined into single buttons rather than a single press button to access the feature. There's also no real tactile features so it's hard to tell where you are on the remote in the dark - which of course, does not light up. Sound volume is fairly weak, though it does sound pretty good at low volumes. This TV is in a master bath suite so it competes with the shower and exhaust fans which the prior TV could overcome by raising the volume to the 20-25 range. This one has to go up to the 60-80 range to overcome the ambient noise so I assume Samsung expects you to buy a soundbar if you need more volume. A real pet peeve for me is the sleep timer. Samsung must need help translating the word "sleep" because there's about 4 button presses to get to the sleep timer before you can set it. Then it starts at 30 minutes and just gets worse with larger increments. They must not realize that sleep timers are often used when you are in the bed, in the dark, and possibly without your glasses. I also use the sleep timer as I move between rooms to allow the currently playing program to run for 5,10, or 15 minutes after I've left the room. This is sometimes necessary to pickup something streaming in another room because an immediate shutoff won't let me pick up where I was unless I go back into the show immediately in the other room. So if there's only 10 minutes left in a show I'm watching, I have to let the Samsung run another 30 minutes to make sure I can pick the show up in the next room. And no, I don't sleep in the bathroom - this is about having to leave it run much longer than necessary when I'm not in the room. So I'm several months into this TV and still haven't created a Samsung account. I continue to use the Roku instead of the Samsung "hub" that comes up immediately and starts playing some random program if you don't select something pretty quickly. Because the Roku takes a minute to start up, I have to stand and wait for that boot so I can press something on the Roku remote to get the TV to see the HDMI port with the Roku. There should be a way to setup a startup input so it always goes to that input on startup unless I press something on the remote to go to the hub. And that hub does not look to be easy to customize like on that "other" brand. The other brand also has a "recent input" tile on its hub that would make this one more tolerable - but no such thing on the Samsung despite several months of turn on and go immediately to the Roku HDMI port. Apparently their AI stands for "almost intelligence". Based on all those things, I won't buy another Samsung without seeing it in person and checking out the remote and features. I'm sure I will eventually break down and create a Samsung account just to see if there's any additional benefit, but I won't be changing anything in the review because this TV should be able to do the things I've mentioned here without having to create an "account" during setup. TV should be simple, Samsung, and you've made this into an annoying nuisance every time I turn it on. ... show more
