The reading and writing speed of the SD memory card is related to the computer and the card reader. So I use the same configuration to test the difference between Samsung and PNY, both look good and both buy from Amazon.

This is the most reliable USB SD card reader I've owned. Unfortunately, it's wide enough that it gets in the way of adjacent USB ports when I try to plug it in so I usually need to remove other stuff that's plugged in to use it. Still, it's way better than the other two SD card readers I have.

Update: 01.17.2023 I asked for a replacement card thinking I may have gotten a bad one. Received it today ran 3 speed test, results are the same. Looks like these are 100/90 cards rebranded as 160/100. The replacement SD card is even slightly slower than the 1st one I received. The sale price was moot, lower price but also received a lower speed card, not as advertised. I have several Samsung SD & MicroSD cards. They are reliable, durable & speed are close to what is advertised. The problem with the latest PROPlus version (160/120) I purchased - It it NOT reaching near the advertised speed. (see picture). I have the 18month old 64GB ProPlus SD card (100/90) this one is near the advertised speed 3 test on 3 different card reader, all results are around 98.25/88.55. This newer version 256 ProPlus (160/120), I did 3 test on 3 different USB3.1 card reader - all results are around 98.28/87.28, the write speed is even slower than the older 64GB one. I probably got a bad copy coz I see other reviews with 159/123 speed. So yeah, giving it 3 stars. I will probably ask for a replacement. ... show more

Love these cards, good price when on sale, large storage, write speed good enough for 4K videos. I use it to shoot weddings and it works well for me.

This combo is great for storing and transferring your files quickly. I tested it against 3 other usb drives I had and It beat them all by a lot. It also improved the gaming experience on my Legends Ultimate Arcade. The game roms load much quicker and the menus seem faster in CoinOpsX.
