  • Samsung does not stand behind its products!!! Buyer beware!
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT buy this watch if you in any way intend to use it around water. I am primarily a runner, but I bought this watch partly for its advertisement as "water resistant" (heck, the advertising picture even shows it dripping with water!). I wore it while playing in a splash pad with my son (totally within the parameters set out by the device instructions re: use in water!), and it started malfunctioning, turning on/off with the screen flickering. After speaking with a Samsung representative who assured me that the watch would be fixed at no cost, as it was under warranty, I sent it in. About a month later, I received the watch back with a letter explaining that the watch was un-repairable due to liquid damage and Samsung had voided my warranty. As the attached screenshot shows, the warranty language regarding this product is ambiguous as to whether or when water damage "may" void the warranty, which puts a lot of power in Samsung's court to decide when they will honor that warranty. So, buyer beware: unless you're going to use this watch in desert-like conditions, you may find that even after using it according to the manufacturer's instructions, Samsung will not honor the warranty for this product's use in/around water. In short, you might just as well burn $130+ or -- as I'd suggest -- buy another product from another company. ... show more

  • Amazon rocks...this product does not!
First, let me say that since this order was filled by Amazon I was able to return the product with no hassle which is why we buy from Amazon often. Thank you, Amazon! Now for the product review: I bought this for my wife to use with her Samsung smart phone. I was looking for a smart watch that also tracks heartbeat and basic fitness, like steps and such. The Gear Fit2 Pro has a great screen and a primary reason for the purchase of this watch. It does give you notifications for calls, texts, and facebook notifications. Unfortunately, you will need to use your phone to respond to them. This was disappointing and I guess I got mixed up between this watch's capabilities and the capability of other Samsung smart watches I reviewed. My bad but still not impressive at all when compared to my daughter's Apple watch functionality. If you are simply looking for a wristband to tell you to go look at your phone, look no further! Two weeks into the use of the Gear Fit2 Pro the heartbeat monitor stopped working and the steps were no longer accurate. She walks the treadmill for a few miles each morning as part of her routine and it was showing only a few hundred steps. Restarting the watch was no help. It should be noted that it has never accurately counted stairs. I called Samsung Tech Support and they let me know the steps and heartbeat monitor was a known issue. He never addressed the stairs issue and seemed to skip over it. He explained that I needed to go into settings and turn off the functions for tracking "rowing" and "elliptical" to correct it. You can only imagine the look on my face when I was told to turn off half the functions of the watch to make the other functions work. Really?!? I did as they asked and it seemed to work, until she put it on the next day. Then started having issues with the display being dim and unresponsive. Restarting the watch helped with that but the heartbeat monitor and steps were not working again. I called Samsung and asked they send me a new unit as this one was obviously defective. They said they would only repair it, which I explained was unacceptable for a watch less than a month old and asked for a manager. They put me on hold for a while; by the time the supervisor came on line I had already called Amazon on my wife's cell and returned the unit and received the return label in my email. ... show more

  • NOT WATERPROOF UNLESS ACTIVATED MANUALLY
Unfortunately, this product was misleading. This product is marketed as water resistant for up to 50 meters. It has a swim option on it to count your laps. I went into the pool with my daughter (3 feet deep), and the watch died. After further investigation, it appears many people have had a similar problem. Apparently, you need to activate the waterproof feature prior to getting it wet. DUMBEST. DESIGN. EVER. All other smart watches that I researched prior to buying this one, do not require this. It never even dawned on me that you would need know in advance of when you might get it wet. What is the point of advertising it as waterproof? They should advertise it as "able to get wet ONCE you turn on WATER LOCK". Shame on me for not reading the manual cover to cover prior to wearing it. Shame on Samsung for misleading advertising. On their website they say they will not return it because I have voided the warranty by getting it wet. ?!?!!? I've been a long time Apple phone user and recently considered switching to the Galaxy for my next phone. Not now. I threw out my dead (4 month old) GearFit 2 Pro and got a sweet Apple watch, and looks like I'll stick with Apple phones too! The Apple watch 3 is far superior for the extra $150. And if you don't want to pay that much, buy the Apple 1 watch, which isn't waterproof...but then neither is the Samsung one, really either. ... show more
