    • Last year's model is still a good choice
The Tab As are my fifth & sixth tablet. I have three old HP tablet's converted to Android, one still in service and one used for backup (the third, with an integral cell phone is flakey under Android...). I have an inexpensive Plum -- its death after a fatal drop occasions the Tab A purchase, as well as my wife's need for a better Zoom tool for online teaching. Having a mobile phone capability is important; if my ISP screws me, or local WiFi is bad to nonexistent (...) it's usually possible to find a mobile phone access. The tablet is light. The Android implementation seems flawless. Special kudos to Samsung for Samsung Mail; Google killed the old Android mail, but Samsung Mail works pretty much the same, with an enhanced user interface. I do maybe three-quarters of my online stuff on the tablet; I do about half my telephony on the tablet. I can do this all day on a single charge. There are two flies in the ointment: This tablet was packaged for the near-eastern market; the Amazon vendor corrected for the foreign power adapter by throwing a plug adapter in the bag. Sadly, the idiot put in the wrong adapter -- completely useless and no response to my email. Fortunately, I have a whole lot of 5v 2a adapters (they are readily available and getting cheaper) and they charge the tablet overnight for the next day. The other matter is that Samsung is apparently on the verge of introducing an S6 LITE version for not a lot more money than I paid. I gather it's WiFi only, and it includes a stylus -- something to lose easily. But it makes the buying choice harder. ... show more

Excellent tablet. All that I needed. It proved to be a bit of a challenge for ATT service guy to set up as tablet AND hotspot but he did it. Very happy with price and product.

    • Works on AT & T also improved speakers over previous version
I have AT & T sim and it works just fine, voice and data. At first I thought that I got scammed, but before I did a return, I decided to try another AT & T sim. It went smooth like butta. I still own a 2016, that I love, but this 2019 is definitely an upgrade. The sound is much better. I played music for hours, and it held up well. Everything else, I did not notice much difference. No tests or anything just going by feel. Then again, i preferred my 2016 Tab A over the iPad Pro (gave that to my 15 month daughter to watch Youtube). Now I will use this 2019 Tab A and give the 2016 to my other daughter. ... show more

    • False advertising
This tablet was advertised as being compatible with the Verizon network. Five months later with no data available, Verizon reported the problem is that this table will not support the Verizon network. Very disappointed that the table is now useless without wifi.

they lied and sold refurbished goods that now don't even work any longer cant charge unit...my fault.. I should have returned this when I realized something was wrong...Samsung sucks...I will NEVER NEVER NEVER BUY ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS AGAIN...I DESTEST LIARS WH DONT DISCLOSE REFURBISHED GOODS

    • the best tablet you can get. WHY??
will this is really a large cell phone. We put this on our t-mobile service america's choice (old plan) which was no data metering on netflix, hulu etc. So we can watch movies on the larger screen vs a regular size cell phone. this is a nice unit adn worth the price.

This item is just as described. One small complain is that charger that came with isn't what we use here in the states. The device was easy to set up. Movies and videos look great in this device. I got this for a my 11y/o to use while we are home during this pandemic.
