This purchase was prompted by my inability to use the infernal, way-too-small remote supplied by the manufacturer of this otherwise great TV. This Samsung BN59-0130 actually works very well. It does not slip out of one's hand and fly across the room, only to land on the floor under a heavy piece of furniture. This remote will be less likely to get stuck in the crevice between the cushions of the couch with the popcorn and lost forever. This remote does not have hypersensitive sensitivity to touch, thereby changing channels or volume like a possessed demon. It has familiar symbols (and words) so one does not need to guess the function of the buttons, unlike its diminutive stepbrother. The Samsung BN59-0130 remote uses actual batteries and does not require a solar recharge periodically. You can actually hold this Samsung BN59-0130 in your hand without fear of crushing or breaking the remote. I 100% approve of this product and would heartily recommend as a replacement to its smaller less user friendly stepbrother shown in the photo on the right. ... show more
