  • We love it.
No problems. But...It's our only TV. I should'a and coulda spent a bit more for OLED but this one is quite good. We're enjoying it immensely. Pros: Colors are great. The price was amazing for this quality and size. It really is excellent and huge. It cost about half what my last TV (that I gave away) cost. 85" size is so great. We watch about 12 feet from the set. Feels almost like the movies. It's our only TV. If it were bad, I'd know by now. It's not. No latency that I can see. Even fast sports are perfect. I clicked and the next day it delivered, unpacked, set up in my house by two good guys. My 65" Samsung Curve was loaded into a pickup and was off to a friend's treadmill room in Wisconsin. The techs wanted $65 to take it away so I saved by giving it to my friend. I still can't believe how quick and smoothly it all went. We kept the giant box in our living room for a several weeks in case something went wrong. (No returns if you don't have the box!) Nothing went wrong. I bought a battery-powered Sawzall to get rid of the box. Worked like a charm. There are reviews of this TV online by people who know a lot more about TVs than me. What I can tell you is I think the colors are great and there's nothing that really bugs me about this TV...and it is engaging to watch. That's high praise. We have a quite decent AV sound system so we don't use the TV's built-in speakers. We use Roku, so we bypass the Samsung software and remote. I went into "Samsung world" only to make setup adjustments, but I've grown to like the AI auto mode, so I really don't touch that anymore. I think it's set to Cinema, which is easier on the eyes than Sport...Sport hurts your eyes on this thing. It's got serious brightness, sharpness and contrast. More than we need or want in this room. Could be used in a bigger room for sure. It's perfectly fine to watch in broad daylight. I don't play video games, so can't comment much on that but I'm guessing it's pretty fast and good. Sorry I couldn't be more help on so many subjects. We just use what we need. Minor Minuses: Screen surface is glossy. There are reflections. We watch mainly at night and we have made some adjustments to our room lights. It's not a big issue. Sometimes there are shadows or "off" shading in a few spots in a few scenes. Sometimes, there could be more shadow detail...not a lot, but some more would be ideal. It's nothing compared to the glory of the color, sharpness, brightness and reliability on this thing and it doesn't detract from your movie. I only notice when I'm in geek mode.. I have to look carefully for small flaws but they're there. I'm sure there are tech words for what I'm talking about. If you're a perfectionist, get OLED. OLED doesn't have this problem and this TV has it very minimally. I don't know the name(s) for these glitches are but they're on every QLED and similar.. Find reviews online if you want to know these things. I'm busy. Anyway, what can pick out occasionally as a flaw is quite minor. I pine to try OLED but returning or getting rid of or trying to sell these things is really not an easy task. Everyone already has one and doesn't want the hassle of changing. I don't blame them. We couldn't even give away our last old flat-screen...and it was an expensive TOTL Sony. I called everyone. We'll keep this one for a few years. If tariffs don't make a new one too precious, I'll get an OLED next time to try. There isn't a better QLED than this one so far as I know. It's very good and you can't buy OLED this big. An 83" OLED would cost about $1200 more than this set. The next size up OLED is 98" or something and the price is insane.. Finally: Size matters. Get the biggest one that's reasonable for your space and budget. I started my search thinking 96" then did some measuring. I like this size. ... show more

  • Finally—A TV That Sounds as Good as It Looks
This Samsung 55-Inch Neo QLED QN90D is hands down the best TV in our house—and not just for the stunning picture. The sound quality is so impressive, I actually got rid of the soundbar I was using with another TV. That one had the crappiest audio, like most modern TVs that sacrifice speaker quality for slim design. But not this one. Samsung nailed it with this model. The built-in speakers deliver rich, full sound that fills the room without distortion or tinny highs. Whether we’re watching movies, sports, or streaming music videos, the audio is crisp, balanced, and immersive. It’s rare to find a TV where you don’t feel the need to add external speakers, but this one delivers. And the picture? Absolutely gorgeous. The Mini LED technology brings out deep blacks, vibrant colors, and razor-sharp detail. It’s like having a theater experience right in our living room. The interface is smooth, the remote is intuitive, and setup was a breeze. If you’re tired of TVs that look great but sound like a cheap radio, this is the upgrade you’ve been waiting for. It’s a game changer—and worth every penny. Don’t hesitate. This is the one to buy. ... show more

  • Expensive, but worth it. Get it before the Tarriff's hit.
I don't know where to begin on this. My old 50" QLED was showing it's age and starting to fail; even though it really wasn't all that old. So, figured I'd upgrade before the Tariff's hit. So glad I did. 55" is absolutely perfect for my bedroom. It's large, but not too large. It pairs very well with my old Samsung 9.1.4 sound bar. The display is bright and crisp. It's breathtaking at first. It does work well with all my devices, Xbox, Roku, DVD, and HDMI Switch to manage it all. The solar rechargeable remote is an interesting idea, but I don't let a lot of light in my bedroom. I'm still not a fan of these mini-remotes. I do not like having to set up an account with Samsung just to set up my TV. I don't use their ad loaded home screen and find it rather intrusive. Luckily, my Harmony remote still works and can be programmed. I skip all that. As I said the display is crystal clear and sharp. The colors are bright and vibrant and the blacks are near total black. I have not noticed any artifacts, ghosts, dead pixels, streaks, blooming, or bleeding. It seems fast and quite responsive. The TV itself is not exactly mount friendly. A standard VESA mount will work with it. However, the placement of the power port is extremely poor. Back of the tv, right behind the rail for the wall mount. Make sure you attach the cord before the mount and hanging it. The one connect box is now gone. I miss it. But, I only have 1 HDMI cable going into the tv, the rest of my HDMI connections are handled by my HDMI switch. At least the input and output connections are easier to access, I still don't like having to plug them in once the tv is hung on the wall. While it works very well with my older sound bar, it does require that you have it hooked up to eARC. I've had issues with power timing of devices in the past, but it seems to work well on this model. This is the first time I absolutely needed to hook it up to eARC. 4K content on Netflix, Prime, Max, Hulu, and Xbox looks incredible on this screen. Infact, I was playing some Assassin's Creed Shadows before it was delivered and then again today and the picture is much more vibrant and full of rich detail that I did not notice before. I did get a bit of a discount on the 55" flavor, but not as much as the 50" would have gotten. I don't regret my choice though. ... show more

  • More reflection than stated stated in the description. Set up okay.
Size: 75-Inch Style: TV Only
First 24 hours My house is in the Samsung ecosystem and have been for 20 years. I much prefer it to Apple. All of my monitors and TVs have been Samsung's for two decades. I'm not exactly disappointed in this product after a day, but I'm not completely thrilled either. First off delivery went nearly trouble free. I was there to lend a helping hand when needed as the box was bulky. They were very helpful, well-mannered and enthusiastic. Never had a bad experience with a big box delivery from Amazon. On to the TV. Less than 24 hours in but setup was a breeze as I imported all my previous Samsung TV settings to the new one via the Samsung SmartThings app. The picture is great but not perfect and I didn't expect it to be perfect. There seems to be a bit of artifact in the upscaling of older shows particularly those in 4-3. I know this is a common issue but I was led to believe that Samsung's AI upscaling was better. I'm going to wait a week and see if the Intelligent mode with the AI Optimization enabled will improve things. I tried manual settings and I have some experience in this field I was in charge of producing Navy Aviation training videos in California. However, I'm not expecting professional calibration out of a consumer product. I will review everything from 4K down to kenescope. Not expecting much of the stuff that was kenescoped but it'll be interesting to see if 4x3 series filmed on well preserved stock holds up. So far that's my only beef, and it's a small one. My TV is in a bright room and it this TV handles reflections well. I only notice a couple of stray ones on extremely dark scenes. I got this TV on a great price and I know I could get Inky blacks with OLED but I only paid a third of what it would cost and in my viewing room light would be an be an even bigger issue. If I have to I'll just get light blocking blinds made specifically for this...my low-tech solution from somebody who spent 30 years in the high tech world. Failing that being satisfactory, I will contract with a professional calibration service. I just don't have the equipment and current knowledge anymore. I'm okay with that I guess but I didn't have to do with my previous if 2021 55 in qn85. So a custom calibration may get the light level to where reflections not noticeable and may improve upscaling but I have my doubts about that.. but I'm pretty easy to please if the blacks need to be slightly less black I'm okay with that. I'll check back when I more and observe more. So far I am satisfied not ecstatic but satisfied. But prospects look good for this going to five stars. ... show more

  • Well-made HDTV - Absolutely Beautiful Picture!
This TV is very heavy (almost 75 lbs) and is well-made. We bought it to replace our two-year old Samsung QLED QN60D HDTV. We learned through this process that the QN number indicated on the model description identifies the build and screen quality of the TV. The picture on this Samsung QN90D is beautiful and significantly better than our previous QN60D. We couldn't be happier! ... show more

  • This thing is a WALL
I don't really watch TV or movies, but my family does. Our 55" 1080 TV was approaching 14 years old, apps stopped working, etc, so I decided to install this 85" QN90D on the wall in its place as a Christmas gift to them. The difference is phenomenal, not just in going from 1080 to 4k, but the size, brightness, clarity, refresh rate, etc. The AI upscaling is interesting. The refresh rate is so smooth it's uncanny at times. The overall quality of the picture far surpasses anything I have seen in box stores. The sound is surprisingly good for being integrated- far more bass and midrange than the built-in speakers in any other TV I have owned. I'll still hook this up to the 5.1 system but honestly the audio is fine as-is for normal listening volumes. ... show more

  • Samsung Review: A Disappointing Experience with a Once-Great Brand
Size: 75-Inch Style: TV Only
As a customer who has spent over $20,000 on Samsung products in the past month, including dryers, washers, refrigerators, stoves, TVs, and cell phones, I feel compelled to share my profoundly disappointing experience with this brand. Samsung, once known for innovation and quality, has become an obsolete brand, operating in a way that feels more like a scam than a trusted company. Here's why: Customer Service Lacks Any Interest in Helping the Consumer When you call Samsung's customer service, it quickly becomes apparent that they are disorganized and unprepared to assist. Even though you're registered in their system, they often claim they don't have your information. Agents lack knowledge, and their support process is frustratingly inefficient. Unwillingness to Replace Defective Products Despite reporting issues with a new TV that arrived with clouding, Samsung refused to replace it, insisting instead on repairs. After long calls and numerous tests, they sent a technician who replaced the screen, but the clouding persisted. The technician then said there was nothing more he could do and left. When I followed up with Samsung for a replacement, they refused, stating that multiple repairs are required before considering a replacement—even though the product is less than 30 days old. Unprofessional and Ineffective Technicians The technician who visited did not take the issue seriously and dismissed the obvious defects visible on the screen. Their lack of accountability only added to the frustration. Declining Brand Reliability Samsung's products and service no longer reflect the quality and trust the brand was once known for. This experience has left me feeling scammed and betrayed as a loyal customer. I strongly advise against purchasing any Samsung products. There are better, more reliable brands in the market that prioritize customer satisfaction. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment. As someone who has invested heavily in Samsung, I can confidently say I will never buy another Samsung product again. Consider this review a warning to any prospective buyer. Think twice before choosing Samsung—it's no longer worth the risk. ... show more

  • Mostly used as computer monitor
I'm very happy with this purchase. It works great as a TV and computer monitor. It supports the 4:4:4 chroma substandard which provides the clearest text and images. Not all TV's support the text standard. I bought this TV to be used as a computer monitor and because my last TV, also a Samsung, lasted 11 years as both a TV and monitor. Not every TV works well as a computer monitor, so if you plan on using your TV as a monitor, this is a great choice. To avoid eye strain, I wouldn't go larger than a 50" set and be sure it supports the 4:4:4 standard. The default settings were pretty accurate out of the box and easy to adjust to suit your preferences. I did not activate the Smart features and have no interest in doing so. The Smart features require that you set up an account, which means sharing personal data and being subjected to spying and targeted ads, not to mention the risk of data theft. I'm very content using my Samsung as a "dumb" TV, thank you very much. ... show more
