    • Sound, Color, Brightness & gaming, oh my!

The media could not be loaded. I was so nervous about buying an expensive tv through the internet, especially after going down the rabbit hole and reading horror stories about delivery or the return process. My fears were put to ease when it arrived w/o any box damage, on time and delivered in an official box truck. Pros: - Brightness is unmatched - Gaming is flawless (using PS5) while playing Horizon FW - Color is vibrant - Sound quality is amazing and not talked about enough. Nice bass and the Dolby Atmos ties it all together. Cons: Like some other Samsung TVs there is judder when watching some shows through a cable box and lips on occasion have been out of sync which is frustrating to no end. Under the sound settings “Digital Output Audio Delay” is grayed out which annoys the hell out of me because on other Samsung televisions that is how you can fix the lip sync issue. Back to the judder situation: if you keep experiencing it just shut off all the motion clarity options and it should be just fine. - The remote stinks and is oversimplified. Just stick to a classic remote there’s no need reinvent the wheel here. Hopefully this helps anyone who is on the fence. ... show more

    • Amazing picture

I have always been a Samsung guy and always buy Samsung products. This is my 2nd brand new Samsung TV in 2 years. I was skeptical at first because I originally bought a 55" QLED TV 2 December's ago, and that TV didn't even last a full year before acting up, which was very weird. Never had an issue before with Samsung products. So, I decided to upgrade to the 60" NEO QLED SMART TV last December, and I must say, I am so freaking impressed with this TV! The new Neo Technology is a HUGEEE upgrade over the regular QLEDs. If you're coming from a standard HD TV that you picked up for couple hundred bucks, you are going to be blown away at the quality. This is the closest thing you will get to OLED picture quality. The colors are so bright, vibrant, eye-popping, and just breath taking. And the blacks are TRUE blacks with NO pixelation whatsoever! The TV has many great features, such as ambient lighting, many applications, built in voice AI of your choosing (Alexa or Google Assistant), like older models you get Samsung TV Plus for free with tons of channels, and screen saver mode, which you can add any picture you want. And while some people do not like the new interface, I think it's very simple, well organized, and easy to use. The remote controller is still slim, like last generations, but, it is a bit longer. It is still very, very easy to lose though, lol. If you're coming from a convential remote with numbers and tons of buttons, it may take a little time getting use to as there is no number buttons on remote at all. If trying to go to a specific channel, voice AI is fastest and best way to do it. Has built in Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ buttons for quick access. Fun fact! The new remote does NOT take any batteries whatsoever! It charges via solar lighting (sunlight) when remote is upside down! How cool is that?! No more worrying about batteries dying 👍 Gaming experience on this TV is phenomenal, with built-in in surround sound. When you turn on a game system, the TV automatically switches to that input. 1 con is the TV stand. It's super heavy, bulky, and kind of funky to install. Much prefer the legs like the last generations. I ended up putting mine on the wall, and like that, away goes the con. Overall, this is the best Samsung TV I've ever had hands down, and I'm just blown away with the picture quality. If you're like me and love watching your favorite TV series and movies in the absolute best quality, then I highly recommend this TV! You will not be disappointed! Enjoy 😊 ... show more

    • Samsung 55" Neo QLED 4K QN55QN85BAFXZA DIES One Month After Warranty Expires - Are You a Gambler?

I have been fiercely brand loyal to Samsung and over the past 16 years, have had nothing but Samsung LED TVs, Galaxy smart phones and tablets, PC monitors, hard drives and SSD storage, etc. I've owned the same (non-smart) Samsung flat panel TV since I moved into my house in 2008. It still works perfectly. The Samsung Smart LED TV I replaced with this QN55QN85BAFXZA was nearly 10 years old, and still worked fine, but had developed large visible circles on the screen. We donated it to a local non-profit organization for children and they were thrilled to have it, spots and all. I came home after a short tour with my band, and my wife told me our new-ish (13 month old) QN55QN85BAFXZA TV had recently shut off and wouldn't turn back on. The red LED on the front was blinking, so I figured it was a simple error that could be solved with power cycling or something uncomplicated. I'm pretty tech-savvy and figured YouTube would guide me to a solution. Long story short, nothing I tried worked, so I had to request an out of warranty repair, because the TV was 1 month past its warranty. I wasn't happy, but if I could have had my TV back up and running for a modest repair fee and minimal downtime, I would have been fine with it. The technician quickly told me that the LED Panel was bad and that it wasn't worth fixing; it would cost almost as much as a brand new TV and the work would only be guaranteed for 90 days. It would be better to just spend that money on a new TV. So now I have a relatively new, physically spotless TV that is literally garbage. It's almost a crime to throw this thing out. I can't conceive that a TV in this price range would last only a year and a month. Being a Samsung loyalist, I actually bought nearly the same Samsung TV in a newer model to replace it, after going a few months without a TV in the living room while I tried to sort this out. I guess I'm a gambler (not really), but I got an extra year warranty this time. This review is no reflection on the quality and features of a functional QN55QN85BAFXZA TV, but when an expensive TV lasts a hair over one year, and becomes destined for a landfill , how can you give it any more than 1 star? When it worked, it was a GREAT TV, full of great features, the picture quality was excellent, and sound was much better than our previous (9+ year old) Samsung TV. I would have hoped to keep this TV for many years, but it lasted just 13 months. It was plugged into a high quality surge protector because, as a home recording studio owner, I don't take chances with my expensive electronics. I'm hugely disappointed and hoped Samsung would step up and do the right thing for a loyal, longtime customer, but I couldn't get to a human (not even via my preferred method of online chat support) until the repair tech was standing in my living room for a fee. I'm reading a lot of similar things online (Samsung TVs from around 2021-22 dying within a year or two) and hope this isn't an indication that Samsung quality is slipping, but rather a blip on the radar. The last thing I want to do is change brands after so many years of success and satisfaction with Samsung products. Samsung, are you listening? I'm here, I'm all ears, and I still haven't thrown the broken TV in the garbage yet, but my wife wants it out NOW. ... show more
