  • As Always, Samsung TVs Are Top Notch!
Size: 77-Inch Style: TV Only
Holy smokes, this TV looks FANTASTIC! Our 55" Samsung that was 12 or so years old finally bit the dust by way of the HDMI connection constantly blinking out. So, I sprung for the 77" that we've been wanting for awhile. The colors are brilliant and very sharp, while the 120Hz refresh rate for 4K makes viewing easier on the eyes than a slower refresh rate. There is overwhelming evidence that going from 60Hz to 120Hz reduces eye strain, headaches, fatigue and the likes. I've also been reading that going all the way up to a 240Hz refresh rate yields diminishing returns, unless you're into prolonged stretches of intense gaming on that TV/Monitor. Since we don't use this TV for long, intense gaming sessions, I decided not to go with a 240Hz model. I'm very pleased with everything about this TV. There is absolutely nothing that I can complain about. There are plenty of HDMI ports available, and the remote control is simple and easy to navigate. Also, the Samsung TV menu navigation has been greatly improved from our old Samsung. I am very pleased with this. Also, there are dozens (perhaps hundreds?!) of FREE channels that Samsung has built into their TV menu. While navigating these free Samsung channels, I suddenly discovered that I had watched a full episode of a show I hadn't seen in years. Although I utilize a separate amp and 7.2 sound, I will say that the built-in speakers are decent quality. I would have no problem using these built-in speakers, if it were all I had. The sound is not tinny, nor obviously under-powered, as so many other large TVs are. The built-in speakers are not bad at all. Also worth mentioning is that this TV is very thin, but also very rigid and stiff, relieving my worries that it would accidentally twist during wall-installation, causing irreparable damage. Quite on the contrary--this TV is tough! I had no issues whatsoever, lifting it with one other person of small stature, and hanging it onto the wall-mount. I never once felt like it was going to flex or twist itself into oblivion. I have no fears when needing to pull it away from the wall and service the wiring or anything behind the TV. I will recommend this line of Samsung TVs to anyone who asks. As always, Samsung is a top-notch choice for TVs! ... show more

  • Absolutely love this TV. The Samsung S90F OLED is on another level when it comes to picture quality.
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
Absolutely love this TV. The Samsung S90F OLED is on another level when it comes to picture quality. The colors are incredibly vibrant and rich thanks to the QD-OLED panel, and everything just pops off the screen . Brightness is impressive for an OLED. Highlights really stand out and the contrast is amazing, with deep blacks and bright details that make movies and shows look incredible . Even in a lit room, the picture holds up well and stays punchy . The overall build feels premium and the design is sleek and modern. It’s also great for gaming with smooth motion and fast response, which makes everything feel fluid and responsive . Honestly, once you see the colors and contrast on this, it’s hard to go back to LED. This is a huge upgrade and easily one of the best TVs I’ve owned. ... show more

  • Almost Perfect Almost Perfect
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
As a quantum dot OLED, not many TVs beat this in terms of color and deep blacks. Just know that it isn’t designed for extremely bright rooms and will be unable to create perfect blacks in one. Samsung’s Q-Symphony lets you sync the TV speakers with a Samsung soundbar, which sounds impressive. It’s a big upgrade from my QLED TV, which didn’t offer this. If you like minimalist remotes, this one is perfect. It has a textured surface on the back to help you grip it and it feels sturdy. The main cons are that the design isn’t ideal and the anti-reflective coating comes off easily. The mounting holes are low given its bottom-heavy design and the screen seems fragile on the top and sides where it’s thinnest. Not a big issue if you plan accordingly. The other more serious con is it’s extremely easy to permanently remove the anti-reflective coating on the screen if you don’t clean it carefully. Merely rubbing too hard with water can damage it, so be careful. Despite these flaws, it’s still a truly phenomenal TV, especially at current prices. ... show more

  • Spectacular picture quality if you can figure out how to control it
Size: 55-Inch Style: TV Only
On the picture quality alone, I'd give this tv a 4.95 out of 5 stars. I find that on some of what I watch, the brights are too stark compared with the black. I've tried adjusting the contrast, but I don't see that making any change whatsoever. It's like it's broken. Lowering the brightness doesn't give me the effect I'm looking for and simply makes it dark. Perhaps I'm just not used to the ultra-black blacks. For things like sports and other brightly-lit shows, the image quality is amazing. Perhaps some of it has to do with the AI-upscaling. Still not sure how to control that, but as I understand it, it just always happens. I don't see it having much effect on lower resolutions like SD. That's actually something I was looking forward to, but it seems like it only makes the HD even higher HD. Oh well. I've got several issues with things apart from the picture quality. Tops on that list is the remote. Apparently the design team decided that remotes are ugly and no one wants it to be visible. So they made it as small as possible. It looks like a toy photon torpedo. In order to make it this small, they had to remove the vast majority of buttons. Those that remain are tiny with icons/text that are very difficult to read. Excuse me for not having teenager eyes. They put a small solar cell that is supposed to slowly keep a charge. I thought that was a great idea. Until I found that it's on the bottom of the remote. You know, the side that NEVER gets any light? Good thinking, that. I purchased a 3rd party remote on Amazon that is large and garish. And it does most of what I need with one visible button push. I find the on-screen controls rather non-intuitive. Getting to specific settings can be a real "Where's Waldo" experience. Is it under this section? No. Over there? No. I'm not a fan of how AI is draining our resources, but I don't know what I'd have done without the help it provided. A screen kept popping up that asked me if I'd like recommended ads. I kept saying "disable" and it kept popping up. I must have spent half an hour between AI and Reddit posts figuring out how permanently disable this. Apparently it used to be a lot easier, but Samsung keeps hiding the solution deeper and deeper into the settings hierarchy. But back on the good side of things, it was a pleasant surprise to see that the TV comes with a boatload of free TV shows. Probably nothing that you couldn't get via the various streaming apps, but these are bundled conveniently in one spot. I also like that it has a built-in picture-in-picture feature. Still figuring that one out. It seems like a long, convoluted process to get it set up, but perhaps once I'm familiar with the controls, it'll be easier. I don't expect to use it a ton, but it'll be handy when I'm watching one thing while waiting for the football game to get back from halftime. My wife and I each have bluetooth headphones that we've connected. Getting the multi-connect feature to work was a minor challenge, but it's a one-time process and now that this is running, it works great. There's enough of a delay in the sync that I can notice it, but it's usually worth it for the improved sound clarity. And perhaps this will improve with updates and newer headphones. ... show more

  • Beware of buying very fragile expensive items. Beware of buying very fragile expensive items.
Size: 48-Inch Style: TV Only
I had a very disturbing experience with this purchase. I bought our our Samsung 48” OLED S90F from Amazon. I never saw this tv on a showroom floor so I was very surprised by what I found. When it was delivered no damage was apparent. However I did notice the packing tape used was clear plastic, not paper tape. Once out of the box I noticed the glass panel ended abruptly and without any protective bezel. Just a vulnerable glass edge. “Odd”, I thought. I continued to set up the tv and plugged it in. Nothing happened. I checked the remote. Nothing. After checking everything again I contacted Samsung via their website. I used Chat to walk me through troubleshooting. Sales expert Camille took my info and sent a checklist of possible solutions. Item #3 said, “Test the Screen. Shine a flashlight on the screen while the TV is on. If you see faint images, the backlight may be faulty though with OLED, it could be a panel issue.” I assumed the tv was on so I did as instructed. Guess what? I discovered a faint “star” crack at the left mid center edge of the panel. Then I noticed a very faint crack leaving that star and trailing all the way to the mid center top! I had my daughter corroborate my find. Believe me, we were uber gentle unpacking this tv and placing it on a cushioned ottoman. I messaged Camille back with our find and she responded, “ Thank you for sharing that. Operator message sent at 10:07 PM: Thank you for your patience. While we, as the Pre-Sales Team, primarily handle product orders, I tried to find a resolution for you. Unfortunately, our expertise and tools are limited for this specific concern. No worries! I can assist you in connecting with the appropriate department for your technical inquiry.…..” but not until Monday! This was Friday. Next day, I decided to check Best Buy for the same tv and for only $2 more, they had one left in the whole tri state area. I bought their last one. The box had original paper packing tape sealing the box. The glass panel had a thin but visible bezel all the way around the tv’s glass edge! What’s more, the panel had a thin clear plastic protector covering the tv’s face! I looked at the Amazon tv and sure enough there wasn’t one of those! And there were faint scuff marks across the panel too! There’s no doubt in my mind this was a previously returned and repackaged $1614.83 tv. I do thank Amazon, thank you Jeff, thank you Prime, for refunding my money after a nail-biting few weeks of investigation into my claim. Very disappointing, very disturbing. Beware of buying very fragile expensive items. ... show more

Impressive. Looks so much better then led or qled. Using in a very dark basement. The hdr color for TV and games is incredible. If using for games make sure your graphic card can handle the higher fps, I use a 5060ti and Diablow 4 looks better than what I thought a game could look (4k). Surprisingly heavy for being so thin. Price has been going down and open box is a huge value. I don't see how the s95f could be worth $800 more. I didn't find the tv speakers bad but still hooking up to a denon 5.1. ... show more
