  • 5 stars for the tv BUT
Size: 77-Inch Style: TV Only
I give the tv 5 stars but this is really the first time since I joined Amazon in 2007 that they let me down. Tv first. Amazon issues 2nd. Actual delivery day third. I was going to buy the QN85C but it went out of stock everywhere the day I wanted to buy it. It was brought to my attention on a forum that I could get the S90C in the 77" size for the same price. Once I started researching the S90C I knew it was the better choice. 77" is more than big enough. I am glad I didn't go with the 85". I am sitting 12 ft from it and it is huge. The stand could have been sturdier. My old Samsung 46" tv had a huge pedestal base and it swiveled. This has 2 plastic legs and a metal plate that snaps over the legs to stabilize them. I had to move the tv just a bit once it was placed on the stand and I could see and feel the legs moving. I do like that they attach without screws. I also really like that you can attach the stand with the tv still in the box. The box itself is pretty ingenious. I kept all the packaging but doubt I would ever be able to place all the styrofoam pieces in the correct spots to get the box around it again. The connections behind the panel are horrible. I can see why people pay 1K more for the S95C with the one connect box. If I had known what a ridiculous time I would have trying to see where to plug in the connections I would have gone with the S95C instead. I literally had to sit with my back against the wall and use a flashlight to see up under the connectors. Trying to do them by feel alone is not at all easy. There is a cheap plastic panel that is supposed to go over the connections to keep the wires in place but it is impossible to install due to my Firestick. I have the Firestick coming out in one direction, 2 HDMI cables pointing downward and the optical audio cable beside those. I didn't bother with the panel and just used some plastic cable clips to hold the wires together and then route them toward the stand so they are out of sight. This is also very cheap. They give you 2 plastic clips that attach loosely to the legs of the stand to hold the wires in place. They don't even clip into a slot, just kind of sits there with light pressure. Upon powering up the tv for the first time I was greeted with a setup menu. This part irritated me to death. For some reason I was not able to interact with the setup menu with the remote. The remote worked to power on the tv but then any button I pressed did not respond. I finally realized I had to get really close to the tv and point it at the dead center bottom of the tv where the sensor is. Now I could progress with using the remote to setup the tv. Now I am on the wifi connection page. According to Samsung there is a WPS option to connect to your wifi. WRONG. My tv does not have that option for some idiotic reason. I had to go through the hassle of finding my wifi password. This setup process could have gone a lot smoother. The remote is odd. I don't really like the solar charging. I set the remote on a table in the sun and 1/2 hr later I literally thought I had lost the remote. It's not easy to remember where you put it when it has traditionally sat on your side table next to your recliner your whole life. They also don't give you a USB C cable to charge it. Really? I paid $2600 for your tv and you can't provide me a $10 cable. For some weird reason I was having to point the remote slightly downward and directly at the sensor for it to work. Today I am able to use the remote pointing it anywhere. Makes no sense. It had a good charge both days so can't figure that one out. There is an option in the settings menu to view the amount of charge left in the remote. I did not have that option. After playing around with a few menus I saw an option to pair the remote. In my opinion the remote was working so it was already paired, right? Wrong. After I paired it now the option to view the charge is there. After all the irritation why 5 stars you ask? The picture is stunning. I am coming from a 46" 1080P tv so in all fairness any large 4K tv would look better. I am still not sure about the different picture modes. Dynamic looks awful. Think of a lady with way too much bright red lipstick. LOL. The colors are way over exaggerated. The tv starts in Eco mode. I can't see any difference whatsoever between Eco and Standard. Then there is Movie and Filmmaker. Again I don't see any difference between those 2 but after some research it appears Filmmaker turns of all processing of the picture and lets you view your movie as it was created by the director. I watched last night in standard and it was bright and beautiful. The tv detected my Dish receiver, Firestick and a Blu ray player that I had connected. The remotes for those devices turn the tv on and off without having to enter a code to make them work. That was good. It also detected I had an optical audio cable connected. I read a lot of complaints about no option on the remote to change inputs and that it took multiple button presses to get to the menu to change inputs. It's not bad at all. You press the home button, then left arrow to connected devices and then choose the one you want and press enter. Way easier and faster than my old setup. One year warranty sucks. It should be at least 5 years. I am considering buying the extended warranty but it looks like the most you can get is 4 years and you essentially lose a year because you have to use the Samsung 1 year warranty first before the extended kicks in. Now we get to part 2 where Amazon absolutely sucked. I ordered the tv on September 11th. It had an option for scheduled delivery. I picked Saturday the 16th between 11am to 2pm. I moved everything including lifting my current tv off the stand to be ready for the delivery. 1pm I get a call from Amazon. Sorry we can't deliver your tv today. Are you kidding me?? No explanation why other than we don't have enough trucks today. I scheduled this almost a week ago! I got irritated and called customer service and asked for a supervisor. He said he would send a request for the tv to be delivered the next day. Also gave me a $75 courtesy credit. Said I should get a call from someone later to confirm Sunday delivery. Got a call later that evening from a guy in the heavy/bulky department. That's what they call it when you order oversize stuff that can't be delivered on a regular Amazon truck. He said it would not be available for Sunday delivery and saw no record of the request from the supervisor who assured me he was escalating this to the highest level. Sure you did pal. I told them I was not available for delivery during the week and wanted them to deliver on Saturday the 23rd. For a short time my order page showed it scheduled for the 23rd. The next day I look at my order page and it says your tv will arrive on Tuesday. NOOOOO. I said I can't take delivery during the week. I sent an email to the heavy/bulky dept and got a generic we are so sorry blah blah blah. They rescheduled it for the 23rd again. The next day I about flipped my lid to see it was now arriving on Thursday. I called and asked for a supervisor in the heavy/bulky dept. I got a guy who told me up front what the real issue was. The tv arrived without a manifest and they can't deliver it without the manifest to process it and schedule it for delivery. He then said that chances are if I ask for a Saturday delivery they probably won't have enough staff or trucks and it will probably keep getting rescheduled. What the F is the point of having the option to choose a day and timeframe with scheduled delivery??? I told him I lived in a highly populated area and if they have the option they better honor it. He made a call and said my area was available for Saturday delivery and he rescheduled it again for Saturday the 23rd. He also said someone in the back office kept rescheduling the delivery so he sent an email to the manager of whatever dept it was and told them to stop rescheduling it. Comically enough he issued me another $75 courtesy credit. I told him I already got one and I just wanted my tv. He said it was already done, use it or don't. Over the next few days I kept checking my order page and was getting concerned because it didn't say anything other than arriving Saturday. When I hit the track order button it would say your package can still arrive on Saturday, check back later for updates. At this point I am about to cancel my order and give BB my $2600. I decided to see what would happen on Saturday. My window of arrival was 11am to 2pm. At exactly 11am it showed out for delivery. Now we are getting somewhere. Around 11:30 I got a text saying to put pets away and turn on lights if it was dark. They showed up a few minutes later. Part 3 the actual delivery. I chose the option for delivery and unbox. 2 guys carried the box inside. I had already watched a very helpful Youtube video of unboxing so I knew exactly how to unbox it without destroying the packaging. I just took the lead as all I really needed them to do was lift it onto the stand. We had it unboxed and I had the stand legs installed in less than 5 minutes. They placed it on my stand. I plugged it in and they powered it on. The picture was good with no dead pixels or screen damage. Would I buy another large tv on Amazon. I would not. The hassle and lack of accurate information they put me through stressed me out. In the end with the $150 in credits and approximately $130 cash back on my Amazon store card I ended up getting the tv for a little over $2300. That was the silver lining. Buying a tv at this price is the most expensive purchase I have made other than a vehicle or house. It should have been enjoyable but it was not. Fortunately sitting here looking at the tv has improved my mood. ... show more

  • No issues, no regrets going with a OLED
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
I've had this 65" OLED S90C TV for just over 7 months now and have not had a single issue with it. Knowing that reviews started OLED might not perform well in bright rooms (as opposed to QLED), I gave it a chance anyway. I'm not disappointed. It is plenty bright enough for my family room with a large east facing sliding door. At night, OLED just excels with its ability to display HDR content and true blacks. I've had several Samsung devices, including a previous 10+ year old 40" LED HD TV this one replaced. Never any issues with them. My only wish is I had more room to mount a TV larger than 65"... I would have gone for the 85". I was blown away with how thin and light this thing is for its size. Paired with a new ONKYO TX-RZ50 and true Dolby 5.1.4 Atmos sound system (not some sound bar, rather a full surround system speaker setup), it is amazing to watch movies again and listen to immersive audio. ... show more

  • Amazing Picture Quality and Versatile Smart Features
Size: 77-Inch Style: TV Only
ONE YEAR UPDATE: I bought this tv to be our main living room centerpiece for media consumption. It was my first OLED television and took a great deal of research to feel comfortable making taking the leap to buy. We have been very please with the incredible size and picture quality of provides for literally every type of viewing. The smart features make it a versatile choice for gaming, sports, streaming, and physical format cinema. Since it is placed in the center of our living space, the appearance of the model was very important. It does not disappoint. With an incredibly slim profile and clean lines, it maintains a modern vibe for the room where it is mounted. The performance has been spectacular. With smart features that I have barely scratched the surface on, the tv manages to intelligently adapt to our viewing needs with little adjusting. I chose to link it directly to Ethernet through an AppleTV for the OS, but it has not needed it. The sound is purely amazing. As a default, I employ soundbars and surround on all my theater setups, but it’s not necessary with this model. There have been time when the soundbar disconnected and it simply was not missed. I’ve never heard a flat screen with fuller sound! We’ve been very pleased with this Samsung, and look forward to expanding the fleet of like tech around the house. My only complaint would be the simplicity of the remote, but I suppose the alternative would be cumbersome. Pro Tip: Link it up with your echo Alexa devices and you can control the power, volume, and control functions hands free! ... show more
