Oh...kimchi...this little NetBook seems more of a Samtaesung offering rather than a proper Samsung, and the premium...."Oh Dear Leader".... You get a rather drab presentation and are greeted with a subdued very nice feeling metal construction laptop....with a small Samsung logo, very discrete, very tasteful..... You journey through the demilitarized zone begins with the Windows set up process, about as fun and engaging as filing your taxes, and surprisingly taxing for this laptop. My system arrived with a 75% charge, after a four hour setup process....35% remained on the battery. Now you'd expect after Windows dash of Pyongyang (Windows Recall, etc)...you'd expect this system to bring a touch "Seoul" to sync your ecosystem...Nope! For me at least the Samsung Account setup service didn't launch for 72 hours...then it popped up on it's own. In the meantime manually syncing the laptop to my S23 Ultra, was a chore....with the Samsung bloatware directing me to use Link to Windows instead.... and getting everything paired properly was a task. speaking of "Ultra".....that is the name of the Intel e-wate installed on this machine....so let's get to the practicality.... Gaming? Nope! Intel Integrated Graphics....anything "intense" you'll get a warning that the processor can't handle the game....you can force it...and stuttery mess. Older games and less demanding...you have an hour before the battery is drained from 100%. Productivity? Photoshop will eat 25% of the battery in an hour, using this as an actual; work device....you'll need to be close to a wall. "What about that 'All Day Battery' then?" I opened with "NetBook"....word processing and web browsing, very smooth, great media playback....this a very "casual" device, "all day" use means Amazon shopping is the most intensive task you do. On sleep the system only sips 5% of charge....so trow it in a bag....and no matter the length of transit....you're good to jump right into that Excel spreadsheet. It really is a disappointment on how much of a hit anything more demanding than MS Office does to the battery. You could be a power typist in Word for 14 hours.....but you only get 4 hours to get those image sets edited. Bottom line....higher spec laptops can be had for the same price point, only attraction to this machine is ecosystem.....and that's not as fluid as alternatives. And for the performance and utility of the GalaxyBook6 U7....there are far more affordable options with the same exact specs ... show more

I needed a new laptop for my wife, and this laptop is perfect. Since I wanted to run Linux, and it comes with Windows pre installed, I had to make some changes in the BIOS screen so that I could boot from a usb stick. I was able to easily install Linux Mint and it runs lighting fast as expected. Since this is a brand new laptop (book 6), I had to find book 4 drivers that I could force to work with it. (If you don’t have the drivers, the speakers will not work) you can use headphones without having to mess with drivers. I would guess the laptop would work fine if I had wanted to run windows. Once I fixed that, the laptop works great. The screen is really nice, the keyboard works well and has a nice feel. It’s backlight too. The battery life is really impressive 7.5 hours. One of the things I really like is that the laptop has a RJ45 port. Some other companies has stopped providing it. It has WiFi and it works great. The laptop needs to sit on a hard surface to get the best sound from the speakers… I prefer headphones but you can’t expect too much from such small speakers. really can’t find anything to complain about, it is a solid laptop that is packed with features.
