There's room for a number pad and they didn't include it. On this unit, it would be very useful. The instruction manual could use editing as it was clearly written by something that is not a native English speaker, and it should have an index. There's a big learning curve above plain old microwave. The preprogrammed defrost works, but you must read the manual to use it properly. This unit is the 2nd microwave purchased. We had bought entire kitchen from Samsung for kitchen renovation. The items arrived 2 months prior to installing and 1 month after the original order. The microwave was damaged upon opening the box even though there was no significant damage visible on the box. The unit was damaged either in original shipment or from the warehouse. The glass inside the door was shattered and the unit was bent inside the door with about 1/4 inch shift to the face plate. Samsung only accepts damage claims for 15 days, so buyer beware. The cabinet had been modified to accommodate this microwave and trim kit. Nothing else would fit the opening or trim kit, so I was forced to buy another unit, which I bought from Amazon. The item arrived faster than it did from Samsung and was handed to me personally. I opened immediately and checked to ensure no damage then installed the microwave in the opening and the trim kit. Thus far the unit is performing good and has done everything we expected. When the unit heats up either from the internal heating element or builds heat from the microwave, it will actually cool itself afterward and expel the heat from the unit. There needs to be at least 4 inches of space all around which the trim kit and stand insure as long as you have a 30-inch cabinet to start with. The complete unit looks good and leaves additional counter space. The unit is advertised on Samsung as built in and sell a trim kit with it, that can also be purchased on Amazon, but when you visit the product page it describes it as a "countertop" microwave. I hope that it will continue to work inside the cabinet as there is air space around it, however not sure if it will build too much heat and damage the unit long term. I will post a follow up after more use. As far as service, I can say that I have had no issues with Amazon, and they have responded quickly and positively, to any concern I have had with any purchases. Samsung is a different story. It took nearly 2 hours of being on hold to get an agent to report my damage and then find out they would not cover it and that since it was damaged there was no warranty on the unit. I essentially lost the $500 spent on the unit as I did not inspect upon arrival. When I tried to post this on Samsung site, they continued to send me the review back to modify. I could not rate the performance as the unit would not work and I was told not include the shipping / Delivery or comments about customer service. I since have read many poor reviews about the unit not lasting or being damaged similar to how mine was damage upon arrival. The only reason that I purchased this 2nd one was that it would have cost much more to buy another unit from a different manufacturer and then have to modify the cabinet opening again. If I had it to do over, I would not purchase and will most likely not buy Samsung in the future. I can say at this point I registered this unit on Samsung and the web site only has the warranty through January 2023 and I purchased this unit in July 2022, so should have a full year. This also was the case with the refrigerator. Both are under review by Samsung. Do your research prior to buying! ... show more

I LOVE this oven! I did a lot of research before choosing this model, and I am beyond impressed. Besides the microwave, the convection oven bakes wonderfully. You can put a 9" x 13" pan in it. My last microwave/convection oven would only fir a 8" x 8", which was really inconvenient. I especially like the "Slim Fry" technology which works like an air fryer. I have made chicken wings (I like my wings crunchy) and homemade fries in it. Both came out like they were fried except without all the calories from the grease. LOVE IT! Way to go Samsung! UPDATE: I have owned this oven for 5 years now and still love it! I included the picture of my cherry cheesecake danish to show how uniformly it bakes. ... show more

Very nice looking microwave convection oven. I was looking for a compact appliance to fit in my tiny kitchen and I finally found one. This appliance has a lot of nice features such as the slim fry, fast defrost, and even cooking convection oven. I have enjoyed using it every time I cooked in it and it does everything the manufacture said it would do and is easy to use. Very easy to use and looks even better when you build it into a new kitchen inside its own cupboard but you must make sure you leave sufficient space around the time for air movement as when on Oven the sides tend to get quite hot. i had a similar microwave like this one which you can grill, roast using the convection and microwave food. This microwave from Samsung has a big capacious space even roasting a whole chicken. Inside finish is coated with ceramic for easy cleaning. outside is made of stainless steel thus elegantly matching any kitchen. the only con's i see is it's low microwave power of 900 which makes heating the food quite a bit longer than the 1100 watts microwave which should be the standard power rating for this microwave size. Also there's no way you can set up time quickly as you only have the 30 SEC button to press a couple of times to set up the time you need ... show more

This is a good convection microwave, we use it often as both a normal microwave and a convection oven for baking. We don't typically use the grill function though. The main reason for the 3 star review however is how difficult the buttons are to press and how un-intuitive the interface is. Some quick buttons and a number pad are pretty standard these days with most microwaves and would have been nice here as well. Many times we have to hit a button multiple times for it to process that it has been pressed. If they could fix this interface they would have a truly awesome convection microwave. ... show more
