  • Perhaps the Best Purchase I Ever Made on Amazon
Size: Child-Lock Technology 1.0 Cu. Ft.
Built almost as good as my original Amana Radarange from 40 years ago. It has a real all stainless steel INTERIOR, not just trim on the outside front. Very roomy. Really fast and powerful. Fairly quiet. Incredibly versatile range of controls and functions take a little while to learn. Definitely download the full manual. The unit doesn't come with enough instructions. They really should give you the full printed manual. Comes with 2 accessory racks and a pan for air frying. Has a broiler and convection oven. When using the convection oven, the outside remains surprisingly cool. In fact, the convection oven and air fryer really doesn't heat the kitchen. It uses a fraction of the energy of my electric oven. It's big enough for almost anything but big cookie sheets or a turkey. Plates and half gallon Pyrex measuring cups fit with room to spare. I have a really small kitchen, so the fact that the air fryer, convection oven, toaster/broiler and microwave take up just the space of a microwave is a game changer. The only thing(s) that makes it less than the absolute perfect product is that only the time display lights up. (and no full printed manual.) At night, it's impossible to see where to press for various functions. Perhaps the best purchase I ever made on Amazon. ... show more

  • My microwave is better than yours.
Size: OLD 1.0 Cu. Ft
I've been using it 2-3 times a week for about 3 months and it has exceeded my expectations. 5 star review because this thing actually does everything it says it does! Who'd've thunk? You can safely purchase this. It's even easier to use than the YouTube videos would have you think. (Mostly because it's just a very reliable microwave with a capable toaster oven built in. The future is now.) I had a smaller competent LG microwave and a countertop Black & Decker convection oven (aka toaster oven with a fan) that may as well have been my brother. The microwave died. I was reluctant to get rid of my trusty Black & Decker along with the old microwave to make counter space for this but it was absolutely worth it. A couple of other reviews mention taking your time and slowly working your way through the different modes. Excellent advice. The following are test results in order of my experiencing them: Popcorn button test: 100% Nails it across multiple brands. Blindly adding time to reheat pizza test: 100% Nothing caught fire and the pizza was evenly heated. Pizza reheat button: 100% *chef's kiss* Potato button(!?): 100% Everybody needs to know how to microwave a potato. It's healthier, tastier, and more cost effective than ramen. And potatoes rule! If you weren't raised with the ancestral knowledge of microwaving potatoes, this microwave has it. Using the pre-programmed thawing for frozen meat, and bread: 95% This is never an ideal thawing method but it works really well here. Nothing was actually cooked and everything was evenly thawed. "Air fry" some frozen nuggets (from frozen): 100% Sometimes you need those nuggets from the red bag and this has your crispy childhood craving covered. Broil some diy English muffin pizzas: 100% AGAIN! Why not microwave a mini pizza? The bread gets soggy. Why not bake it? In a small convection oven like this the toppings may blow around. I hope you have learned something. "Baking" a 9x9 enchilada casserole for 30min at 350°: 100% Good grief! I was very hesitant to even attempt this but the oven in my apartment is a joke and it's summer. The cooking time and temp fell within the capabilities listed in the microwave instructions. Followed the microwave instructions for convection cooking and it came out great. Cheese bubbled on the edges, brown on top, and evenly cooked. Took it to a party. Microwaving a 16oz frozen lasagna: 100%...just because you can doesn't mean you should. Thanks for reading! If you're at all interested in it, just buy it. You'll enjoy the thrill of having an appliance that delivers on its promises and your accompanyimg sense of superiority. ... show more

  • Review after 2 months. A lot of functionality for the price, but a few annoyances.
Size: Child-Lock Technology 1.0 Cu. Ft.
NOTE: I only need a device to prepare small meals for me and my wife. If you plan to prepare meals for large parties, a large family, etc., you might need a different unit. I was going to get an air fryer, but then our old microwave died. So I opted for this combo unit (microwave, air fryer, convection oven). It performs reasonably to very well on all three functions. I really like its functionality, but it has some features that could be better, thus my 4 (vs. 5) star rating. 1. OVERALL DESIGN (4 pts) PROS: (1) You get a lot of bang for the buck in a reasonably effective multi-functional unit that doesn't take up a lot of counter-space. (2) Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to use on all tree functions. (3) It has a safety feature warning if the cooked item is very hot. (4) It has an additional safety feature to keep little children from accidentally (or intentionally) opening it. CONS: (1) The labels on the selection buttons are grey on black, making them hard to read unless you are at eye level--I've had a few mishaps pressing the wrong button. (2) The instructions and controls are not as intuitive as they should be, so there's a bit of a learning curve. 2. MICROWAVE 4 pts): PROS/CONS: (1) It does a decent job for typical microwaving jobs: Warming food, cooking veggies, heating coffee, etc.. (2) But unlike inverter microwaves, which produce power continuously at the selected level, the GE cycles between high and off for levels below 100%. This makes it a bit tricky for softening butter, etc. (for that purpose, run it at its lowest level or use the oven function). 3. AIR FRYER (5 pts). PROS: I'm a convert! (1) I have used it to cook chicken, and salmon fillets. The results are evenly cooked and super tender-juicy, and the salmon comes out nice and flaky. Haven't tried it on other foods, but first impressions are that it should work quite well. (2) The provided pan and rack is well designed, and the pan is easy to clean; The pan easily accommodates 4-5 chicken thighs or several salmon fillets. MINOR CON: Because this is a relatively small unit, and the crisper rack is pretty high, you have to be very careful when removing the crisper pan to check the progress, use a meat thermometer, etc.. It gets very hot. 4. CONVECTION BAKING (4-5 pts.). PROS: (1) Haven't used it much, but its very handy for baking frozen lasagna, etc.. (2) It has a combo microwave-baking function that uses both modes to speed up cooking. FINAL WORD: Despite the annoyances mentioned above, I highly recommend this device if you use if mainly for small jobs and don't want to clutter your counter space with three separate units. ... show more
