We bought this after our large check-in bag finally fell apart. Keeping to the Samsonite family, we went for a hard case this time. I was hesitant as I've seen reviews for many hard cases where dents will cause zippers to come apart and handles to stop functioning. We went on our annual trip this year and it performed beautifully. It's only the first trip (10.5 hour flight) and we can only see how it lasts going forward. There were no dents, scratches or malfunctions. Of course, this also depends on how the airline baggage handlers toss it about, but it looked good as new. I like that it has the double wheels. It moves smoothly and being a hard case, doesn't topple over like our previous one used to. I do wish it came in a slightly larger size. It was smaller than our old bag and the gear we usually take on vacation fit, but JUST fit. Again, our older case was about 2 inches longer, which made a big difference. I have given it 4 stars because it was only one trip. I can't speak for longevity yet. I will update as we go on more trips. ... show more

Just got back from a 12-day international motorcoach tour with multiple (6) hotel changes that the tour company provided luggage portage handling from the airport to each hotel along our way, and back to the airport on departure. This luggage set was surely binged and banged from the airport luggage handlers, the hotel porters and the motorcoach staff and there was not a dent or scratch to be seen on any of these luggage pieces when I returned home from my trip! Got all three for the price of one locally. First trip was to Vietnam and they were surely thrown around and abused. No damage at all and not really even any scuffs that won’t just rub right off. All three suitcases when open have one side that will zip closed with a net to hold clothing secure but the opposite side only has straps that do not hold anything secure if you were to open the suitcase the wrong side up. Would have been nice if both sides had a zippered netting. Would still recommend fot the price. ... show more

The small bag is very small from inside compared to another samsonite carryon that i have, i love it though, sturdy, nice , elegant, professional look, but beware when you open the front side not to fall. I expected some damage after checking the luggage for travel outside the US. I have travelled extensively over the years and I try to avoid checking my bags because of damage/loss. These bags travelled extremely well. I am happy to recommend them.

    • Good size for a weekend trip

I have an upcoming wedding that I'll need to stay about 2 1/2 days (between travel & stay time), this will work great as I'll have enough room for casual clothes, essentials, toiletries, etc. Wedding attire will be in a garment bag that I can loop over the handle making it easy to handle.

    • No confidence in the zippers but I’m going to give it a go

Although the box containing the suitcase was damaged when it arrived, the suitcase itself didn’t seem to have been damaged. I will update my review again in the next few weeks after traveling with the suitcase. This will be the 4th carry-on overall and 2nd Samsonite carry-on I’ve owned in the last 5 years. I’ve traveled more than 20 times, internationally and domestically, in the last few years. I’m hoping with this suitcase I’ll be able to retire my current carry-on from TravelPro, the Platinum Elite Business Plus Carry-On Expandable Hardside Spinner. It has a dedicated laptop pocket that’s become utterly worthless to me. Also, the zippers are needing to be replaced. There’s very few suitcases with dedicated laptop pockets and even fewer have a built-in TSA lock covering the laptop pocket not just the other parts of the suitcase. So far I’m unimpressed the quality of this Samsonite Omni 2 Hardside carryon. The outside doesn’t seem very rugged for something with “hardside” in the product title. Instead it seems like a knockoff I would’ve bought on the black market. For now, I’ll give this 3 stars, and I’ll come back to update my review accordingly after traveling with it. Reasons why I’m giving it 3 stars right now. - The laptop pocket is a must for me. The pocket is spacious and most importantly it’s protected by a TSA lock. So for this you get 2 stars from me. - The Teal color. I like all my suitcases to have a distinguishable blue color. Makes it easier for me to identify. ... show more
