Just got it. On time and in perfect condition. This mic boom is solid, not a flimsy external spring model. If you have a bit of experience soldering you can run your cable in the outer most tubes and have a super clean looking boom. I just cut a mic cable I already had and ran the cable through the square tubing. I then soldered a 90 degree (right angle) neutrik xlr female on the end and it looks and works fantastically. This boom arm can easily support your studio mic and it will look great on your desktop. Pros: 1 Well made, not flimsy. 2 Comes with two different mounting solutions and can accommodate thick desktops. 3 The boom is stiffer compared to my cheaper boom and that is welcome. It moves easily but stays firmly in place. 4 There is a way to run a cable internally but some soldering will be required. Once complete it is very clean looking. 5 Silent adustment 6 Great reach and easy to get out of the way. Cons: 1 I didn't buy this first! 2 Not much info is available on youtube about it but I will make a vid once I get my desk cleaned up. PS: Unless you are looking for something really high dollar this boom is more than adequate for pro or hobbyist use. UPDATE: Still very very happy with this boom arm. Careful if you plan to connect a Blue Yeti to this. The microphone slides right over the screw mount which is just a tiny bit smaller than the yeti. I contacted the seller, received ZERO response. It was only when filling a claim that I got their attention and even then they insisted that the screw mount is cut to 5/8" but it's CLEARLY not. They wanted me to sent the item back but I decided it was more hassle than it's worth. Since the arm won't be moving I decided to fill the very tiny gap with plumbing tape. Should have bought the rode in hindsight. Even those little mic screw adapters don't work because the gap so small. BTW I did measure the male screw of this adapter and it's about 1 mm smaller than the female end of the yeti. Should have taken pics of that but if anyone wants them I will provide. ... show more

It's unthinkable to me that this boom arm isn't the best selling on Amazon. The $20 garbage arms (Neewer, etc.) are a waste of money. The quality on this thing is on another level and it's like $25-30 more. Everything about it, the silent operation, the finish, the look, it screams QUALITY. Samson, get this product on Prime shipping and start promoting it NOW. Oh yeah, the C-Clamp opens 3" so the official product description, even the description on their website is inaccurate. ... show more

This mic boom is gorgeous! I like the fact that it has no springs. It's also high-quality and comes with two mounting brackets (see pictures). The price is also right. Also, did I mention it was gorgeous? I was also impressed by the box this mic boom came in. It was a big box filled with professional-grade air cushion films. Then inside that box was the product itself settled in styro foam cushion. I really appreciate when a company does extra care in packaging their products. To me, it's a testament that Samson is truly committed in bringing quality products and to customer satisfaction. It's the reason why my mic is also from Samson :) ... show more

The best microphone arm that works with a wide range of microphones. Unlike the RODE PSA1 Swivel Mount Studio Microphone Boom Arm , the Samson broadcast boom works with lighter microphones. I use mine with the Audio-Technica AT875R Line/Gradient Shotgun Condenser Microphone and a Nady SSPF-3 - Microphone Spider Shockmount With Integrated Pop Filter . It stays put wherever you move it, even without a microphone attached. I'm glad my research into the PSA1 revealed that shortcoming before I ordered. It comes with two low profile velcro straps for cable management. You may want to find extra if you want a very neat set up. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this thinking it would be an upgrade from those cheap boom arms, it is definitely more sturdy but the part where you screw in the mic / shockmount does not tighten up no matter how hard you tighten the knob, therefore your mic will just swing freely, meaning you cannot place a microphone sideways or even normally without having it twist, the metal screw area does not tighten up at all, which for me and alot of other people, makes this boom arm unusable even a $10 mic arm can tighten up along the attachment area allowing you to have a secure mic placement, but this $60 mic stand can’t I bought this thinking it was the same as the psa1 but I’m pretty sure the psa1 doesn’t have this issue look at the video i have attached to my review just to see what i’m talking about i have tighten every knob on my shock mount and the boom arm, yet the shockmount still swings freely, this product is unusable ... show more

My god i was worried because i couldnt find anything on this boom arm on youtube except for one person that posted a "review" on twitch and while he seemed like a nice guy the video quality was lacking BUT i took his word for it and this thing has been great! the arm itself is metal and it looks like the RODE PS1 that retails for double the price of this one. I have seen the complaints about the RODE model and metal shavings or noise when you move it and this has none of that. The samson here i got for $49.99 and free shipping and man i have no regrets, its holding my audiotechnica at2020 usb+ mic and filter like a champ! it has velcro straps to keep the cord nestled against the boom arm. The entire piece of equipment is very nice and well worth the money. ... show more
