  • Boom! I like it!
Size: 18"
I can see a lot of different uses for this boom arm. But I'll rate it on what I use it for. I play guitar and lead singing for my Bible study every week. As the years have gone by the group has grown to where I need to bring my guitar amp and a microphone. The problem is that we sit at tables in a large community building ~ so I bought this with that in mind. It's really compact, folding up into a nice size to fit in my amp bag. It's easy to adjust and setup. Functions well, clamping onto the table top (up to 2"). There's plenty of boom and range of motion for a microphone to set up perfectly me sitting a table. Works great, and great price for all that you get! Great idea for a studio! ... show more

  • I LOVE THIS THING!!!
Size: 18"
I got this to replace a gooseneck mount that needed to fit in a very tight, awkward space. This mount is AWESOME! It is terrific quality and hasn't budged a bit or broken in any way despite being moved around daily for quite a while, and when tightened down, it holds my mic perfectly without sagging. It collapses down very small and has wonderful range of motion because it has so many adjustment points, so it can get very out of the way when you need it to, and can be extended to just where you want it when you do need it. This mount is sturdy, well-designed, and more than worth what I paid for it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a compact, highly adjustable, well-thought-out mic mount. Amazon has millions of cheapo mounts, but this one is great Samson quality and works amazingly well. I haven't seen another mic mount with an even remotely comparable design. ... show more

  • Sleek and sturdy
Size: 26"
I bought this to use for my never-ending parade of Zoom/Teams calls. Since I stand and move around most of the day, I wanted an affordable, right-sized boom arm that would allow me to reposition the mic as needed. Pros: - looks and feels solid - adjusting knobs hold tightly - no long mic post on the end - heavy duty C-clamp for desk Cons: - not reafily adjustable "in-flight" - ^ have to loosen and tighten at least 2 of 3 knobs for any adjustments - the post that goes into C-clamp holder is curiously short, causing some wobbling. Just enough to make me ask "Why?" - the threaded mic joint (at the end) only rotates to parallel, so some adjustments that could otherwise be made by just moving that joint require manipulating the other joints. I ended up returning this, and bought the MBA28. That's working well for me, although it's almost too big for my small working area. The MBA26 (this arm) was the perfect size. I almost kept it to use on my personal setup, which requires infrequent adjustment. Really -- I hated to box it back up. Conclusion: This is a very hefty boom arm that is perfect if you have a small working area and you won't need to adjust the placement of your mic frequently. I haven't seen anything quite like this in its price range. ... show more

  • A Professional, Practical Mic Arm A Professional, Practical Mic Arm
Size: 26"
This stand is super sturdy. Although the adjustable knobs have rather rigid settings as opposed to a loosening / tightening the boyancy of the springs (this is the best analogy I could come up with on the spot) it's a super professional looking mic stand, and the clips which allow you to threath your XLR cable along the stand can be attached above or below and are very professional and practical as well. ... show more

  • Samson Mic stand
Size: 26"
It is a very solid product. It operates as advertised. Looks good and doesn't in fact supports the weight of a very heavy microphone.

  • It's very good and it's very affordable.
Size: 18"
I didn't expect it to be anything special because of how cheap it was compared to other boom arms but it's really good. I just needed a mic stand that didn't get in my way and I didn't want to spend a lot of money for the big fancy ones, It's really sturdy and doesn't fall at all and it's very adjustable so I can lean all the way back in my chair and still use it. ... show more

  • "Supports microphones up to 5 Lbs" is a bit of a stretch.
Size: 26"
I purchased this MBA26 boom arm for my Samson G-Track Pro microphone. I wanted to stick with Samson as I was shopping for a new boom arm (coming from a Rode PSA-1 which is become an antique at this point) because I have been so incredibly pleased by the Samson microphone and the SP04 shock mount, and I dislike to look of traditional scissor-arm microphone booms (such as Samson's MBA28, MBA38, and MBA48). I was so excited to see that Samson made a clean-looking single-bar arm, and got even more excited to see that it "supports microphone up to 5 Lbs." With the G-Track Pro weighing a little over 3.5 Lbs, it's hard to find a nice-looking boom arm that can support such a heavy microphone. Unfortunately, the "5 Lbs" benchmark advertised may just be the weight where the MBA26 completely breaks, and not what it can reasonably and sturdily hold. The moment I mounted my G-Track Pro in the SP04 shock mount onto the boom arm, the entire thing sagged down by a good 6 - 9 inches, making it borderline impossible to keep the microphone in the right spot. The actual bars on the arm may be Aluminum, as is listed as the arm's material - but the joints and the desk mount are plastic. With the amount that the microphone is sagging, I'm worried that the plastic will legitimately snap in record time, and I'm not willing to risk it. I will absolutely be returning this before it fully breaks and potentially harms my microphone along with it. With that being said, if you've got a lighter-weight microphone - something that can reasonably and easily be mounted to your average "max 2.2 Lbs capacity" boom arm - I'm sure this MBA26 is an absolute beauty; and this is the reason for my 3-star review instead of rating it any lower. It is a very clean design, it's reasonably adjustable, it mounts easily, and the cable clips fit the overall clean aesthetic. If you have a microphone that's on the lighter side, I would definitely recommend picking this up. The overall quality and design of the MBA26 for the price it's sold at is truly unmatched. If you have a heavier microphone, likely anything over 2.5 - 3 Lbs, like the Samson G-Track Pro, for example, I'd look elsewhere. Maybe even looking toward the MBA28, or MBA38. But, really disappointingly, this one ain't it. ... show more

  • Perfect for my setup
Size: 18"
I purchased this for my Rode PodMic and had some doubts when I ordered it, but its perfect for me, and the extending boom adds just enough distance. If anyone has a PodMic, they know how solid they feel and their weight - 2.06 pounds. It has a 5 pound maximum mic weight capacity. Samson has different sizes but in measuring prior to ordering it, the 18" is fine for me. The various sizes are 18", 28", 38", and 48". Most will probably not need anything past the 28" though. Mostly. I would have liked setting it up on the side of my computer desk but my desk butt's up against the wall so the rear part of the boom arm will hit the wall and was not an option for me. My monitor setup is dual monitors, a 26" inch vertical and a 34" inch horizontal, on a dual-arm monitor mount, so I opted to mount this on one of the arms where there is just enough space gap between the two monitors for the boom to protrude. It supports the weight of the PodMic perfectly. If you need a boom arm like this, I highly recommend it for any podcasters who might be in tight quarters or if you need a portable boom solution when traveling. It's something I will use when traveling since it will easily go into a travel bag or suitcase. Fully retracted it is just about 10.5 inches long. Experiencing the quality and use of this boom arm, I wouldnt mind trying out the 28" or something as needed. Right now, the 18"" is perfect for my desk space. ... show more
