I am using this for a low voltage application, and that's all I think it's good for. The reviews stating the strip screws do not align are accurate. I only used the top screw. Using a standard Phillips head screwdriver, you should have no problem with screws breaking. I feel as if people were using an impact driver or something. They also give you an extra screw. I dont see how a 14 AWG wire could safely fit in the strip provided, especially when only one screw can be used to tie the strip down. For me it works after I modified it with a new hole for one of the glands. I would stay clear of this for a serious application using 120/240V wiring.

The people who gave bad reviews CLEARLY had no idea what they were doing and bought the wrong thing for what they were trying to use this for. They should have just bought much cheaper water tight boxes rated for line voltage and wire nuts. I ordered this for wiring tandem axle trailer electric brakes and its perfect for that using 12 gauge stranded wire (as its limit). I split my 10 total wires up amongst the 4 holes and then used some heat shrink around each set of wires where they pass through the grommets so they tighten down snd seal. The way I did it is very water resistant, but probably not 30M water proof, but thats only because I was using individual wires, not because of the design. I like it enough for this purpose that I’m going to order another one to clean up my trailer tail light wiring. They say this is some new type of ABS, that I don’t know, it doesn’t feel like ABS to me, it feels like it would be more brittle than ABS and I’m not sure I’d trust it to be very UV tolerant if I was installing it in a location exposed to sun and weather, but that’s only a feeling, certainly no scientific testing to confirm that. None the less, mines installed up under a trailer and if it ever did get exposed to UV light I’d be having more problems to worry about than this box.

This has a non standard wire securing method, placing the securing screw, directly in the center of where you would need to thread your wires. While the little slots will accept 10 gauge wire you have to be very creative and split the wire and thread it through and all sorts of crazy stuff I wouldn't expect. But that idea was really a moot point since the tie down strip doesn't fit the placement of the screws down in the bottom of the container. As I was simply trying to screw the tie down strip and secure it to the container, it broke because the screws didn't line up correctly. the Box appears to probably be fairly weather resistant and waterproof so I will simply use wire nuts inside. This will be used to provide a junction point for my solar panel / Gable fan and controller wires. I'm using 10/4 300 volts power cord to go from the junction box down to the controller. The design is quite handy because one of the three openings will be for the solar panel the other one will be for the fan and the third will be for a thermostat. The hole was exactly the perfect size to thread the 10 gauge power cord through and I simply added on a piece of black plastic that was secured to the end of The 10/4 wire (provided to reduce corrosion or something). The wire company place these plastic covers over each end of the power cord, when it was mailed to me. Normally I would be very disappointed at the construction and design of the connecting bar strip, but I was toying with using wire nuts instead anyway and the incorrect construction solved that dilemma for me by breaking. Had the wire secure down method been a standard full open screw down connection I might have returned the box and been very upset however, I actually now think wire nuts will be far more simpler than trying to thread wires into this strange design.

I bought it to combine 3 solar panels in parallel into one line to the charge controller. The box is thick and well designed. Be careful as the lid screws can strip if you torque them too tight.

Don't waste your money on this. Mine came missing parts and on top of that the mounting bracket for the terminal isn't anywhere close to being correct.
