This is not your kids legos. The pieces are small. The instructions are hard to decipher but it’s going to be very pretty when it is finished. A fun project to do with your older kids.

Some of the instructions are a little hard to follow since the images aren't the best. I had to count the little studs in the pictures to make sure I was putting it in the right place. Some connections didn't feel too solid, but I was able to make it work. A big thing I notice with these non-big name brick sets are that some connections are not well supported. You try to put in a piece and the force causes connections to fail and bricks to go flying. It's not great design and engineering. I recommend super glue for those cases. There's no way I'm mixing these with my name brand bricks, anyway. I like the way the set look and I love that it included a light kit. It's a fun build and I recommend it but keep the design flaws in mind.

This review is for ZGZBLOCK Sakura Tree House Construction Building Toys, Forest House Building Block Set, $30 on amazon. This Cherry Tree house has 1008 standard “lego” size blocks (not mini blocks). The pieces arrive in three large sealed bags numbered ‘1’, ‘2’, ‘3’ and one unnumbered large sealed bag with 6X5 leaves pieces. Large bag ‘1’ contains three smaller sealed bags and a collection of loose pieces. The pieces from bag ‘1’ and the loose single 10X20 brown plate are used in instruction manual pages 2 thru 12, assembly steps #1 thru #61. Large bag ‘2’ contains four smaller sealed bags and an assortment of loose pieces. The pieces from bag ‘2’ and the unnumbered bag with the 6X5 leaves are used in instruction manual pages 13 thru 25, assembly steps #63 thru #137. Large bag ‘3’ contains four smaller sealed bags and an assortment of loose pieces. The pieces from bag ‘3’ and the unnumbered bag with the 6X5 leaves are used in instruction manual pages 26 thru 47, assembly steps #138 thru #246. The instruction manual measures 7” X 8-1/4” and is 47 pages long. The assembly images are a bit small but not so small that you’ll need a magnifying glass. When installing the pink blossoms onto the 6X5 leaves pieces you can use the manual images as a guide but their absolute placement is not critical to the outcome of the build. Manual page #46, assembly step #246 shows the installation location for the 2 X 4 block that contains the battery pack, the on/off switch, and the attached 20 inch long micro LED string of lights.

Some days I'm looking for something to do other than watch TV/tablets with my family (my husband and 6 year old) - so I thought maybe this would be fun! Aside from some minor confusion in some of the directions, this product has proven to be entertaining and actually somewhat calming..I think focusing on it helps relax my brain a bit, which is nice. My child is def too young for it, but the age recommendation is 8+, so we knew we'd be pretty involved in building it...Anywho.. Good product :)

Instructions were easy to follow. It took some time to put together but it was worth it. Makes a nice addition to my daughter's collection. Everything came neatly organized which made assembly easy and fun. Love it!

I have been building complicated, detailed lego-like sets like this one with my kids for a while now and this is the first set that we have not completed. While the materials are high quality, they are difficult to put together and the instructions a bit unforgiving. Pieces shift often and if you make a mistake, you're out of luck because the set bafflingly does not come with a block remover. Because the bricks are slightly larger then lego, any existing removers that you have will not work. While I have no doubt that the end result would be beautiful, the process of putting it together was too frustrating to continue with. I really hope future versions of this set will include a block remover.
