  • Nice tip
Nice tip that helps with smoother writing

  • AA-, RECOMMEND 100%, read 1 thought on flow.
I had only 1 small issue but I use it differently than most, but hopefully this helps someone. I’m a photographer and my A+ Nikon Glass lens hoods are a flat , crinkle coat black. I add a gold ,( thin) band to easily differentiate between, A. Non - Nikon lenses in my travel bag,( 12-20 lenses), B. Newer vs Vintage Manual Focus lenses. Normally this would look foolish unless done prof. W/ airbrushing. I’ve got no time for that, so I add it with these pens, which last forever,( 10 yrs so far ), and if it’s a tad thick, or unsmooth, a quick 15 Sec., dremel buffer makes it perfect. I’ve used 10 of these pens, for calligraphy they work almost flawlessly, IF your canvas draws a lot of ink/paint, the feed is a little slow. I find the pen requires a quick shake, (watch for oversaturation though), and it’s clean again. I’ve rated 4 stars only because of that 1 point, so I’m probably over critical, idk. NOTE: never push the tip in facing down, or you’ll have a puddle of ink. I think that’s standard though, so again, the very tip, tends to dry up on pourous canvases quick, IMH Experience, on paper it’s flows well. ... show more

  • Great comlany, awesome pen.
Love the color and the pen... sometimes a bit too much comes out... but thats more my fault than anything else. Im heavy handed and when drawing or writing (Calligraphy style) i tend to push too hard on the nib and the nib is whats holding the ink back. Or at least some of it. I like using it around my drawings... ive only done it once but thus far its worked out. Also I find this pen works very well on just about any surface, to include canvas... even if the canvas doesnt have gesso. Also stands out against a black background which i love using this and the chrome pen together. Just make sure not to lose your cap lol as i did with my 5mm but the 1.8 mm is still going strong. The "Love" piece was done using the 1.8mm nib. I actually wish I had the 5mm as it would of made the process allot quicker. If your a calligrapher or just an artist looking for something different Sakura will never disappoint. ... show more

  • You will love it when you get the hang of it!
Utilized to create wedding signs. There is little room for error given that they are permanent, but I love it overall! It does take some getting used to and figuring out the bleeding. I have used this for several projects & it’s still going strong. It has a lot of ink so you get the bang for your buck. ... show more

  • Leaks and smears if done wrong
It ultimately worked for the project I needed it for but it leaked. You have to push down on the tip to get the paint to the top but if you happen to do it long enough it’s hard to undo the excess paint that comes out and then it drops and smears.

  • This pen works well. I had to shake it ...
This pen works well. I had to shake it and 'press' it a lot before the ink would start to bleed into the tip. At first I thought maybe I received a dry pen, but I didn't. Once the tip turned from white to gold, and I swiped it across paper a couple of times, it worked perfectly. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts, but so far I have no complaints, and will purchase again. ... show more

  • Perfect in every way
I love this pen! It literally fills all my qualifications! -doesn't smudge -dries fast -nothing can be drawn over it! (I used a color marker to highlight what I wrote -see pic- and it looked so good!!) -super opaque -doesn't flood on my paper! the ink that comes out is the perfect consistency -looks like actual gold paint -looks fantastic under a light and has a beautiful shimmer! (I included a picture to show it:) I've used quite a few metallic markers and this one is my favorite by FAR! ... show more

  • Great for labelling items, especially outdoor items
Great paint pen that does the job right. The paint ink is smooth and not choppy unlike other paint pens. The nib does a great job of spreading the ink evenly so there are no light areas. You really won't have to go over an area twice. I waited several months before writing this review to see how the paint weathers the NYC climate. So far so good! Solid. ... show more
