    • These are high quality and the rubber on the grips is durable.
These are perfect for removing rubber fuel and coolant lines. Anyone who works on anything mechanical will know that rubber hoses can be a pain to remove over time. These help to break them free gently instead of damaging the rubber with a pry tool or vise grips that can cut into the rubber. Grab the hose and twist and it will eventually come free. ... show more

    • Great value & very functional.
These are not Snap-On quality, but still well featured and great value for the money! Having the three different sizes is a definite plus (much better than one expensive pair). The serrated jaws grip well, and the handles are comfortable (plus black doesn't show the dirt). These pliers are also a good useful length (13" not 10"). The compound action is not as noticeable as I thought it might have been, but that's not all bad. GearWrench seem to have struck a good compromise, which allows the jaws to open a decent amount in relation to the handles AND also retains a good leverage ratio so there is no need to squeeze the handles excessively. I would have preferred slightly better finished plier tips, over the fancy plastic presentation tray. However, I'm very mindful of the fact I didn't pay much money for this compound action triple set. Recommended for sure. ... show more

    • Easy to use
These work great for pulling small hoses off of connectors without causing damage. Work great in confined areas and keep your hands away from hot engine parts. Can also be used to twist new hoses back onto connectors. If you use them just once, you'll get your money's worth in saved time, injury and frustration. Be careful, once the others in your shop use them, they'll want to steal yours. ... show more

If you look at my recent reviews, you'll notice I've purchased some GearWrench products all the way back to the originals. I know some balk at their country of origin, but as long as the tools work, they last, and the company backs the product, I don't care. I do a lot of shadetree car work at home, so my tools go through less than the professional, but more than the normal folk. GearWrench has impressed me each and every time. And these pliers are no different. They work. They work well. I also like the way they open, so that small spaces are no big deal. If you're looking for some hose pliers in the extended length.     • Very Useful Tools
Just got these in. Haven't used them yet, but they appear well built like my other GearWrench tools. I have a 97 Nissan pickup with aging vacuum lines. Was worried about the brittle nature of the 14 year old plastic barbs that are connected to the vacuum lines. These specialty pliers will give me more confidence in my task of replacing ALL the lines.. If you work with vehicles on a regular basis or just want the "Right Tool" for the job, then get these.     • Not the same Gearwrench quality as other tools
I haven't used these yet so this is just my initial impressions. I rarely write reviews but I was a little surprised when these showed up. I have some other gearwrench tools such as the 120xp ratchets and I was extremely pleased. These particular pliers do not have the same fit and finish. They seemed to have been finished on a coarse belt sander and then placed into the packaging with grit still on them. As soon as I saw them still in the packaging, they looked like the lower end harbor freight pliers. I would not mind paying more for better finish and alignment. I really like the tools that are coming out of Taiwan and I know that Chinese manufacturers can do the same, I just hope that when Gearwrench sources tools from China, that they are held to the same standards.
