Hammer fell apart and the screws come loose on the orange hand tool used to hit the boards until they lock in. But it was worth the money because the hand tool works well. Shims came in handy. And the black metal smash bar was sturdy and we used it for 1300 sq ft of flooring installed. Glad we purchased it. ... show more

    • Dangerous – Handle Snapped and Caused Injury

This set was a huge disappointment and honestly a safety concern. The tapping block handle broke while my husband was actively using it and actually cut his hand when it snapped. The listing mentions a “plywood handle,” but the one we received is clearly plastic, and not durable at all. The hardware holding it together kept loosening during use, even after tightening multiple times, and then the handle just gave out completely. The spacers and shims are also very poor quality. Many of them cracked or broke during normal use, and only about a quarter of them held up. They don’t maintain consistent spacing the way they should, which makes them frustrating and unreliable when installing flooring. The only pieces in the kit that worked as expected were the pull bar and the mallet. Everything else felt cheaply made and not suited for actual flooring work. Also worth noting, the measuring tape that’s advertised was not included in the package at all. We were installing laminate plank flooring in our basement and were really hoping this kit would make the process easier, but it ended up being more of a hassle than a help. Between the poor durability, missing item, and the fact that it caused an injury, I would not recommend this set at all—especially at this price point. ... show more

I thought that the Sakar set had a good combination of tools for my LVP project. It was more expensive but it had a good combo set. The set was definitely helpful in my flooring install. However, I’m just not so sure if it’s worth the price I paid because I don’t think it will last as long. As you can see any pictures, the hammer got nicked pre-badly after hemming on the block itself. In addition, the block got nicked and it also started falling apart as the screws started to loosen up. I was able to put it back together, but I was just disappointed at the quality and durability. I know that tools will get nicked but just not as badly as I experienced.
