This review is on the SaiYin Sound Bar for TV with 4 Powerful Speakers At the price point I wasn't expecting too much. When I hooked up the speaker I was pleasantly surprised. When I plugged it in and turned it on with no cables attached, the blue light on the bottom was flashing as it was looking to pair. My phone found it immediately and it was paired in seconds. If you just tap the power button while it's on, it will go into pairing mode so hold it down to turn it off. While I'm really only using Bluetooth, the sound bar also provides connectivity via HDMI ARC (cable not included only for TV's not compatible with PC HDMI output), Optical (cable included) and AUX (cable included). I have a 2 story 3300 square foot home and I took my phone furthest away from the speaker as I could and the sound quality remained consistent. If you're using this with a TV, something very important to note is that this sound bar does not support Dolby DTS and you'll need to disable the Dolby DTS on your TV. I deducted 1 star for that as compatibility is a very important thing for a TV sound bar. That helped make my decision to use this with my PC and phone. The top of the sound bar has volume buttons so you can use those as well as the speaker's remote (needs 2 AAA batteries not included) or your source for adjusting the volume. I'm using the speaker with both my phone and my PC. The sound quality is very good. I didn't notice any hissing, buzzing or distortion. The speaker has more of a bass tone so it's not overly crisp in the high highs however the sound is very good. The source I'm using could also be impacting that. The bass is excellent for its size for sure. The company SaiYin has been around since at least 2018 per FCC filings I located. That provides some comfort that their products must have a good degree of reliability and they'll be there should issues pop up during the warranty period. I'm used to my home theater speaker system which cost 50+ times the amount of this sound bar however this sound bar definitely holds its own and is much better than speakers which come in the average end TV. If you're looking for a sound bar for your PC (Bluetooth or optical not HDMI) or to play music from your phone, I'm just SaiYin you should give serious consideration to picking this one up. ... show more

    • Muffled vocals and low midtones - good only for casual listening
The first impression of this bar was quite positive - all the accessories included, hefty weight, tidy size and respectable build quality. The bar seems to have 4 small speakers inside which do a good job of feeling a small bedroom - this won't replace your main surround sound system or any other bigger sound bar. We are using this for our second TV in a small bedroom and the sound is strictly okay. Other smaller but expensive speakers like Sony XE200 or JBL Flip 5/6 which we have output much clearer sound, especially the vocals. There is a clear distinction between this and Sony when you listen to dialogues. The bass surprisingly is powerful may be too overpowering and that is why the mid tones fizzle out. With all that said, it costs half of any other mid sized speaker forget any sound bar all of which cost many times over. For that price the sound is okay. It is infinitely better than what most TV's produce anyway. So if you are in need of something small and cheap but still better than TV speakers, go for this for your second or third TV. There is no way this can be used as primary sound bar in living room. ... show more

    • With the caveat that I'm not an audiophile;
nor tbh am I even that knowledgable about TeeeVees &/or the sounds they make...I *will* say that as far as I do have ears, this thing is AWESOME. It has a sound to it that, if I can old-man reminisce for a moment, *immediately* brought to mind those MASSIVE 80s suitcase-sized boomboxes, the ones you only ever really heard utilizing any of their real volume potential outdoors. Thus the sound had a *BIG*, airy-yet-punchy & crisp quality, so different to any other sounds one heard on a regular basis. This guy reminded me of that. I quite like it! It paired seamlessly & went thru all its modes with no issues whatsoever. If I did have an eensie gripe, it'd be that having its only indicator light like, UNDER the front edge, where there's nothing else at all - no controls or anything, therefore making it not exactly the first place you're gonna look for it - that's perhaps less than ideal but y'know. Ain't like it's global warming or anything. Perspective! So yeah, ESPECIALLY for the price I think it's quite a good deal. :) (Somebody else buy one & tell me if you think the same thing about the ghetto blaster-ness of it all lol :D) ... show more

This was easy to run an auxiliary line in from our TV and boost the sound better than it's ever been. The sound quality is exactly what you should expect from a speaker at this price point. It's good for a living room or bedroom for louder and clearer sound. Make sure to follow the instructions and disable the surround sound settings on your TV, or you'll get poorer quality. My wife was especially happy with how this improved the audibility of our TV. It also connected quickly to a phone from Bluetooth, making it a useful party speaker for a medium-sized room. ... show more
