Description

Not Bluetooth Compatible. DS6900M DS6950M DS6400M HS76265 What is the difference between passive and active speakers? Passive speakers need an external amplifier to work, while active speakers have one built-in. Passive models are ideal if you already own an amp. Why won’t my bookshelf speakers work with my turntable? No power? No problem—just hook up passive speakers to an amp! What kind of amplifier do I need for these speakers? 1.Power Rating → Choose an amp with 1.2–1.5x the speaker’s rated power (e.g., for 40W speakers, pick a 48W–60W amp). 2.Impedance → The amp’s output impedance must match the speaker’s (e.g., 4Ω speakers = 4Ω amp). Can I connect the speakers directly to my cell phone or computer? These speakers aren’t Bluetooth-compatible, so you’ll need an amp to power them. Do these speakers not come with speaker wire? These speakers don’t come with speaker wire, but we can provide it if needed—just let us know! Saiyin has been committed to creating new experiences of consumer electronics. We have a group of engineers who have been in the industry for more than 20 years and deeply understand the needs of customers for audio. Our passionate and dedicated R&D team continues to innovate with high-quality and affordable audio products to enrich your choices.

  • Insane quality for the price.
Insane how good these are for the price. My fiance and I are new to vinyls. Neither of us is an audiophile, but the tiny built in speaker with our player is... Lacking, to put it nicely. I don't know if either of us is really gonna get too heavy into this so I wanted to start cheap. I paired these with a Fosi mini amp and I mean... Wow. The difference is astronomical. The amp is definitely pushing them a bit too hard but I am pretty surprised by them. On big bass drops there is a hint of clipping, but nothing distracting considering how loud I have them turned up. Hooking them up is cake. No power cable of course - just two ports on the back for speaker wire (which they do not come with). Red Port to Red Port on the amp and same with black. Done. Appearance wise they're very standard. I prefer them without the speaker grill but with it on they're still sharp. Maybe a little lacking in the mids, but that was expected considering the setup. Bass is heavy enough to blow the curtains behind them and volume is enough to scare my dogs. Video clip featuring Synestia. Very impressive for a budget setup. ... show more

  • Good sound, even better when teamed with a good center-channel speaker
For the price, I think these speakers are terrific. They cost less than a pair of old, used Radio Shack bookshelf speakers listed on eBay, and they likely sound better given newer driver technologies. The Saiyins are small. A pair of them occupies less volume than the Onkyo AV receiver I have driving them. They sound great. The sound gets even better with the addition of a good center speaker. I'm currently testing a subwoofer, but I'm not sure I yet hear the difference. These Saiyin speakers deliver good bass. Not earthshaking movie effects bass. That's not what I'm after. Given the low cost and free Amazon Prime shipping, I doubt I could do better when purchasing a pair of inexpensive bookshelf speakers. ... show more

  • Definitely 5 stars
I needed something for a small home office so I could listen while working. I have a full system in my family room and didn't want to spend much, so I ordered these based solely on the reviews to pair with an amp I've had packed away for 8 years. When I opened these speakers, I really didn't have a lot of hope for them, despite the reviews. They are very light and tapping on them has a hollow sound, which anyone with hi-fi knowledge would say is a mark against them and likely a deal breaker for their sound. Looks are very plain also, the only saving grace there are the rounded corners which keep them from looking like something that came with a cheap all in one system from 1985. But, of course I had to try them even though I thought for sure they'd be going back. We'll, I was wrong. I have three songs I have used to test my systems for nearly 20 years, not sure if can list them here but two are vocal centered numbers by singers who I know exactly what they sound like and the other is bass heavy and easily gets boomy on cheap speakers or subs. All three sound great on these speakers and that just blows me away given the price and heft. Someone at Saiyin knows what music sounds like for sure. I now find myself slipping into my office after work just to listen when I can truly pay attention to the music. So far, they have made a believer out of me and I think they can really make many more music fans happy on the cheap. Definitely 5 stars. ... show more

  • Good little speakers
Decent sound for the price. I'm not super picky about my audio but they sound clear and have a good amount of bass.

  • Passive bookshelf speakers.
I read all the reviews took a chance. Because of the price point, and I was very, very, very surprised. These speakers are outstanding. I have them being accompanied by a subwoofer, and all I have to say at just about any volume. These speakers fill the room. I am a hard rock fan, so I only have good things to say about these speakers and I would highly recommend them to anybody else. Ohh, by the way, I do listen to some classical music and and these speakers are perfect ... show more

  • Excellent Budget Speakers
To preface, I'm an audiophile, so I'm pretty picky about audio gear. I bought these mainly out of curiosity, to see just how good a $70 pair of speakers with 5" woofers could be. And I'm pleasantly surprised! Now...these are not high-end speakers, and I wouldn't expect them to be for the price. There are some flaws in the sound quality; not big ones, but a trained ear can pick them out. For one, just a hint of shrillness in the upper mids. But they are surprisingly close in sound quality to more expensive speakers. Anyone but the most demanding listeners would likely be happy with these. The bass is pretty decent for a small bookshelf speaker, but they will need a subwoofer to really cover the low end. But, all small speakers do, in my opinion. Appearance is very nice for the price range; the veneer is quite nice and the rounded corners are a good touch. A bit of hollowness in the cabinets; if I was seriously about using them I would likely glue a dowel inside the box as a stiffener. But all in all, I'm enjoying them. For the price, 5 stars. If you want very decent speakers on a budget, I highly recommend these. Good listening! ... show more

  • Great bang for the buck bookshelf speakers!
I'm become a huge fan of Saiyan speakers. I think they offer great bang for the buck. They have really decent bass and are very clear. This is my 4th purchase of Saiyin speakers. I was so blown away with the Saiyan DS6700M (their 3.5 inch woofer model) that I later purchased two pairs of their Riowois DS6800M (with a 4 inch woofer) speakers. Then I saw they have a larger speaker (DS6900M) with a 5 inch woofer and I had to give it a try. So far, I think the 5-inch version is the best of the bunch. They all have surprisingly good bass for such small speakers but the 5-inch version is definitely the best in that area. And the 5-inch has super great clarity and detail. For example, in Diana Krall's The Look of Love, the sounds of the brushing drums sounded incredible to me. It was very detailed and clear. The overall sound is rich, spacious, and balanced with great clarity and surprisingly decent bass. I think I might actually prefer these to my Sony SS-CS5. My listening tests were done using a Sonos AMP. The build quality is also very good and I like the looks of them. The banana plug connectors also seem well made where inserting/removing the speaker wires was very easy and smooth. ... show more

  • Sound Issue
It was a wrong decision for me since all the comments seem too good to be true. Those speakers using a single capacity as crossover to split 2 way however you can hear the major drawback of the midrange or dipper sound and not suitable for critical listening. I suggest using a high order crossover to replace the original one if you have DIY ability otherwise don’t expect the sound quality. ... show more
