I've tried several different types for scoring sourdough - this is the best design. I like the length of the handle so that your hand isn't running into the dough during scoring. Changing the blade is straightforward and easy - unlike other compact, magnetized contraptions. Because of the openness of the design you have access to all of the blade edges at once, making it quite handy. Easy to set up and use. Blade is very sharp and provides a clean scoring. The blade over keeps accidental hand cuts if you are rooting around in the drawer where it's stored.

I lost mine to slash the sour dough bread. This one is much better than the one I had. Great price. Easy to grip. Durable ! And easy to hold the perfect size. Very light weight.

The bread lame works, but it wasn’t quite as sharp as I expected. The blade also tends to come loose more easily than I’d like while using it. It’s usable, but I was hoping for a little better quality.
