The deicer is working great in my birdbath. Especially chickadeeslike to drink from it. Better for them than eating snow. No birds have bathedin it but then it’s below freezing every day so no surprise there.

This heater is totally covered by water in my large birdbath which is the recommended 2" deep. Temperatures have been as low as 22 and so far there has been no icing. Looks good too.

I have about 4 gallons in my birdbath, and even in a MN winter it's a bit too warm I think with this heater. I wanted it to not freeze, but I've given the birds a bit of a hot tub. Perhaps they love it, I'm not an expert, if so then disregard my claim. The downside is that the warm water evaporates really fast. I think this could go at about 50% of the current power draw and be perfect.

Works! Snow was piled up all around and the other birdbath was frozen solid but not the shallow tub that had this little rock in it! Simple plug and play. Hoping it will be just fine all winter long.

Doesn’t work in the ducks’ small kiddie pool. It was in it all day but the water still froze over with the device frozen inside of it. I tried it in their smaller bucket while the water was still warm and it worked well. The power cord is incredibly short.
