I would say the rug is gray with a hint of light blue. Very pretty. I have read other reviews that complain about finding “twigs” in the weave. I have been looking for a large rug for the family room for the last several months. After reading reviews on probably hundreds of rugs of different styles, price point and color variations, I settled on this rug which has a coastal vibe, and I absolutely love it!! There was no smell and it laid out nice and flat. It is a natural fiber and is handmade, not machine made. So the perimeter of the outside lines of the rug are not absolutely straight but that does not bother me. It gives it the coastal vibe and character I was looking for. Bought this rug, it looks nice but not my style. Rug looks rough and really thick. For those who like that style I recommend it but if you’re looking for a softer look definitely not a good option

This is a super cute rug, and looked great by my front door. But the natural fiber makes it hard to stick to the grippy things that keep it stuck to the floor, and it sheds like crazy! I was constantly picking it up and vacuuming under/around it

I bought this rug for my kitchen and for my cat. It's made of natural materials, which I figured were better for my cat...who has decided to "take up space" in the area in front of the sink, on occasion. Since I needed a new rug, this jute rug seemed like the perfect choice. My cat seems to likes it, too. It's the perfect size for the area, seems durable and matches my flooring. It's not as fine as a sissel...which is what I was originally looking for...but, I think it looks great. I purchased it to give my feline a spot to sit on that was made of natural fibers...and she could scratch, if she pleased. Looks better than I thought. Nice color, too. I replaced my old SAFAVIEH natural jute rug that I had for several years with this beautiful Ivory color and love it! SAFAVIEH rugs don’t disappoint, beautiful color, texture and durability. Although this rug got horrible reviews I purchased it anyway because I was so happy with my other SAFAVIEH jute rug that I already owned.
