Okay I literally just got this rug an hour ago and I could not wait — I had to come straight here and tell you people. First impression walking in the door? My entryway suddenly looks like a Restoration Hardware showroom. I am not exaggerating. The chunky pebble texture, the warm beige tone, the way it just works with my wood floors. Comfort: Genuinely soft underfoot. Way softer than you’d expect from something this affordable. My feet are happy. Flatness: Lays flat nicely - a couple of edges are still doing that fresh out of the roll curl thing, but honestly that’s totally normal and will flatten out within a few days. No slip, no drama. Fit: Round and perfectly proportioned - looks intentional and designer, not like an afterthought like my old rug. Value for money: This is the part that almost knocked me over. The quality feels HIGH-end. The woven construction looks substantial and well made. You would never guess the price. Ease of cleaning: Haven’t stress-tested it yet (it’s been an hour 😂 but the tight weave looks very manageable. If you’re on the fence, get off the fence. This is a serious find. 🔥.

***update**** it's been a little over 2 months since I purchased these. ***BUYER BEWARE**** I have 2 runners one 2'x12' (11'10"x2')and one 2'x14',(2'x13'7") and one 12'x12' that's actually more like 11'10" x11'6" that's short about 8sq feet on the big rug. if you are going to put this in a room that has little to no traffic it will be great. If you are thinking about putting it in a room with regular traffic you should just save your money. The high traffic areas are awful. We are a no shoes in the house kinda family, our kids are grown so it's just the 2 of us. See the pictures and video. I'm in complete disbelief spending near $800 on one rug and this is the condition in such a short period of time. The rug is matted and looks like it needs shaved. I have no way to fix this and it looks terrible. I'm so disappointed. I have reached out to customer service with no response. ****Original review****I purchased 2 of these runners and let me say they are amazing. I get compliments on them all the time! I am going to order another one that is larger now. Only down fall is it has been shedding, but I honestly don't even care! I think it will stop after a while.

1/15 Update: My dog just threw up on the rug and I cannot get the throw up out from between the "knots." I had overlooked the stain that I could not get out because scrubbing ruined the loops but this I cannot overlook. I have rolled it up to take to the dump. Vacuuming -even with my new vacuum - could never get anything that fell through to the loops. So, I guess my dog did me a favor. It was a constant nuisance to try to keep clean. No one should be able to review this until after 30 or 60 days. As another reviewer, said "it is great until its isn't." Dang. Don't think it won't happen to you. There is no way it cannot happen - unless it is in a place where no one ever walks on it and never needs to be vacuumed. Here’s my update- I had thought the strands of this rug would be vacuumed away. They are pulling partially out just from walking over the rug and regular use. Vacuuming with just suction- no beater bar allowed- is not helping to clean it up. The deep loops catch debris that cannot be vacuumed out even with our brand new high dollar vacuum. It is looking like the strands are matting and is unsightly. The fifth photo shows the unmatted loops and the last photo shows the matted loops. I worry to think what this will look like in a month, year, etc. I do not I can no longer recommend this rug. Former review and upon initial use: This is a fantastic area rug! It is an amazing value for the rug (10x14) and even more amazing is that it is wool. It is super soft, the color mildly variegated (Silver), and exactly what I was hoping to find but didn't think I would (a neutral rug with texture). It is softly modern and looks quite expensive - Arhaus type look and feel. We did vacuum it immediately to get the stray strands off and shedding isn't a problem - nor is there anything noticeable on yoga pants. Being wool, I look forward to having this rug for many many years. I am thrilled to have purchased this rug and recommend it highly. Oh and the last picture is of the back of the rug. I realized, if ever needed, I could flip it over and have a new rug!

Beautiful well made rug

Love this rug! It looks beautiful and is soft under foot. It laid flat immediately after we unrolled it. My dog loves it! I was unsure of the color when ordering but it looks great in our hallway. It is very reasonably priced for a 16' runner of this quality. Many reviewers complained of shedding. I have not seen that yet and I have been walking on it with black socks!

Nice rug!! Color not as expected.

I’ve had this rug for about 3 weeks now. It’s soft and thick and feels great to walk on (I do have a rug pad under it) I love wool rugs but this one is 80% wool / 20% cotton, which I was nervous about w staining. I gave the review 4 stars because of the color. It’s mostly ivory with some grey threads. I was expecting more grey as it’s pictured online. So if you’re looking for an ivory rug, this is for you. It vacuums nicely and does have a little shedding initially, but not too bad.

Quality, Natural, but boy it stinks...

The looks and quality is lovely! I don't know how well it will hold, but based on what I witnessed so far crumbs and little things get entangled with the knots of wool. It sheds a lot. The good news is that it is under my bed so is not a hight traffic area. It looks high class for sure. The only problem and reason I give 4 starts is because it stinks...I contacted Safavieh support line and pretty much they answer let the room air, but there is nothing I can do to improve the stench. I left it in the garage three months before transporting it into my bedroom and still smells terrible. Even my husband doesn't like the smell. What is the smell like? It is a mix of rope/sack+wet dog. Not fun. I just painted my bedroom walls a week ago, I purchased a new bed, have a piece of furniture that smells too. All these things don't even come close to the strong smell of the carpet. So, even though is natural, beautiful, and maybe not polluted with a ton of chemicals, my goodness the smell is an assault for sure to sensitive people like me. It is not the nice scent of sheep wool. It is just strong rug mixed with wet dog, 😂. So, if you are insane like me when it comes to your nose sensitivity beware that there is no way to improve the smell. It cannot get wet, baking soda is prohibited, sunlight is not recommended, not suitable for the garage... Update: After running and air purifier, ceiling fan and opened windows in NC winter for a whole week, finally we were able to entre the room and sleep the entire night. The smell has improved 70%. There is hope with this beautiful rug.

great until I ordered more and got ripped off

Updated review Recently purchased 3 more of these rugs and the last one, the 9x12 is the relationship ender between me and SAFAVIEH. The rug quality is still great. But when I order a 9x12 rug I expect a 9x12 rug not an 8'6" by 11'2" rug. It looks like the home decor version of flood length pants in the room. In short (ha ha) it looks pathetic. All wrong. I don't even know if it's returnable because whether it is or not: I physically would not be capable of returning this heavy rug. There is no way I could get it re wrapped let alone up into my car and then into a retail shipping partner. I couldn't even get it from the porch into my house without (very slowly) jimmying it up onto a dolly and, once in the room, laboring very slowly to get it set up on the rug pad and laid out in place. Once I unfolded it to the width I knew it was going to be all wrong before I went any further. But once it was dropped on my door step I was stuck with it forever. Net: I feel thoroughly ripped off. ***Previous review from some years ago:*** I've been buying wool rugs from this brand for years and loved them. If you aren't sure who to buy a rug from online: always opt for Safavieh, they have never let us down. We have 8 of their rugs in our house right now but over the years we've probably owned two dozen. They are inexpensive enough that we can replace them when we want to change colors or styles and they are nice enough that we can always find a buyer when we put the old one up for resale. But y'all. This one is the one! It is so soft and wonderful and it actually cost a little less than the last wool one I bought which was the Trace model. I had planned to get another Trace for a different bedroom in the house and they were out of the size I needed so I reluctantly got this one, and dang I wish I could replace all the rugs in all our bedrooms with a rug like this. It is so soft, feels so good on our feet, and the weave is nice and natural and consistent. I got this in a 9x12 and I got a 22' runner to go with it because we have a long hallway down to this bedroom. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Will It Ever Stop SHEDDING???
First of all, I loved this rug when I saw it, and what drew me to purchasing it was that it is made of natural fibers (80% wool and 20% cotton). Purchased on March 8th. Photos were taken April 14th, so I’ve had it a little over a month. It sheds like crazy! The first photo is what it looked like when I laid it. The pile of fibers in the second came from the vacuum canister that was empty when I started vacuuming (butter knife for size perspective). The pile is a good 3 inches tall. No beater bar with the suction on low. The remaining photos are in a couple areas of the rug after vacuuming. This is what the entire rug looks like unless it’s covered or blocked by furniture. We do not walk on it with shoes, and these are not heavy traffic areas…just exposed rug. Been vacuumed a handful of times. I paid $250 plus tax for this? Didn’t expect this from that price. Will it ever stop shedding???Needless to say, I’m quite disappointed.
