I very much like the color and natural rustic look to this rug. In person it has a warmer, lighter tone and is less grey looking than my photos. What appears as grey binding in my closeup photo is more on the taupe side. As others have mentioned, there were a few “pricklies”. I just vacuumed on both sides real good. I love this rug. I was going for a boho cozy light airy homey feel to my living room and this rug completed that. The only small complaint I have is that there is no backing underneath so it skids a lot on the smooth hardwood floor. However I’m assuming this is because it’s a handmade rug, which is understandable. If you are looking for a soft plush rug, this is not it. But it’s also not a rough rug like an outdoor rug or a jute rug. I would say it’s kind of in the middle leaning more towards a raw wool feel but everything is very tightly made so there is no worry of pilling etc. It seems high quality and durable. ... show more

I bought two of these rugs for my bedroom (to place on each side of the bed). I have a similar rug from another brand in my living room. Both are wool, but this brand feels much rougher, almost like it has some jute in it. It's also a little darker than it appears in the picture, but it still worked in the room. I added felt rug pads, and they make the rug feel nicer underfoot. I'm hoping they'll soften up with use. ... show more

I had the same experience as another reviewer. I wonder if I received the same returned rug or if it's a recurring issue in the production of these rugs. I ordered the color beige / grey in size 8' x 10'. The colors were as expected based on the pictures but there were hard bits of wood and other debris deep within the rug. I couldn't really tell by looking at it but one of the sharper pieces of wood broke through my sock and poked my foot. After that I started to carefully check the rug and found a few more. I also found random strings of plastic. I didn't continue searching after that. That was enough for me to send it back. ... show more

The weave of this rug is beautiful, but the color is very inaccurate. We ordered it in ivory, and when it arrived, it was baby yellow. I've added photos so that you can see a white piece of paper against it.

The color is true to the pictures, and it had exactly the chunky texture I wanted. I really liked everything about it EXCEPT the weird hard bits in it: pieces of what seemed like seeds, plastic, and I'm not sure what. Some were small, but one was half the size of a finger joint and went straight through to the back. Walking on it without shoes was painful.
