This carpet is as gorgeous in person as it looks on screen. With that being said, I have no idea how anyone with pets or young children could possibly keep this rug clean! There's only two adults who barely spend any time at home here (no pets or children) and I'm constantly trying to clean it. Because the braided parts make the rug uneven it is difficult for our vacuum to pick up anything. It's also too easy for small things to get stuck in the woven fabric. It's not very comfortable to walk on either. Lastly, the saddest part for me, the braid on the edge of one side of the carpet (a heavy traffic area) is starting to fray. This is a beautifully textured, soft wool rug. It does shed (it's wool, after all!) but that's not a huge problem. I doubt it would clean well after having something spilled on it, but I've got mine in a low traffic area. It is very nice quality for the price and looks more expensive than it is.

This rug looked great in our room for a VERY brief time. It is wool and light in color and most importantly, because of the different levels of the rug due to the pattern, it is impossible for the vacuum cleaner to clean it properly. I'm waiting for the inevitable accident to happen with a white rug but love it. Softer than I thought it would be. I did have some issues with the braiding on the edges because it's woven. Put a little hot glue on it and it's fine. Love the nautical look for the beach.

Its a very pretty rug. The only problem so far is that, for lack of a better explanation, it smells like cat pee. I've been airing it out for 4 days. It's a little better , but we shall see. I will give it another day or two.
