I absolutely love this rug. It brings a nice texture to my living room, very earthy vibe. I have received many compliments. Bought a non slip pad for underneath. It is 100% cotton which is important to me having small children play on it, and not having the toxins that most rugs have. It’s definitely not a soft rug, or very thick, so if you need more padding you’ll want a thick pad for underneath. The 2nd day I had this, someone spilled coffee on it, and I wanted to cry, but to my surprise, it cleaned right up with a towel and water. I have this awkward little spot behind my couch because my living room is very long. Even though it rarely gets walked through, I wanted a small rug to visually break up the space. I love this rug! This is my second Safavieh runner, and both have been great. I was slightly hesitant on this one because I couldn’t tell the exact color in the ad photos. I’d call the color taupe with ivory, grey and black weaved within. It’s good quality, nice muted design and will match with many accent colors. If you’re going to use in a hardwood floor, I’d suggest getting the runner pad too. Not sure if it’s machine washable but I washed my old Safavieh runner and it was fine. This runner fits in well in my kitchen where I have white cabinetry and a countertop with white background and grey markings throughout. However, it doesn't lie flat, no matter how I pull it horizontally or vertically. The problem is that the edges are not straight but wavy as there are two different patterns and the pattern with checks that is thinner is mostly bowed outward. The result is that the rug buckles. Because the colors work for me, I'm thinking of keeping it. I wanted the 12' long but that's unavailable so went with the shorter 10' length even though my kitchen is quite long. If returning this rug, you'll need to put it in a box. It is wrapped too tightly and should be folded up and shipped in a box not plastic wrap that so's heavy it's hard not to cut the rug to get the rug out. ... show more
