If you are sitting on the fence in questioning the other rave reviews about the absolute quality of this rug - and for the amazing price - you'll want to go ahead and hop on over to join the rest of us that pulled the trigger on this beauty! Lol, it is truly more comfy and plush on the other side ;) I can't say enough about the density of the weave, the beautiful pile, and it's ability to take your decor to a whole other level. I purchased the 6x9 in the Ivory, and it is a very pretty shade - not that dark yellowing effect, and not so light that it borders on white. And, the specs were exact to size. The rug arrived rolled in a very dense plastic factory seal - and sealed very well at that. There were also thick booties on both ends to protect the edges. You have to give major props to SAFAVIEH; as they obviously put as much thought and quality into their packaging as they do their products. I have yet to have ordered anything from this company that did not meet or exceed my hopes and expectations. Needless to say, I am totally - TOTALLY over the moon with this fantastic find. Amazing carpet, looks really good and is really soft. Feels very well made, definitely worth the money. Flattened out very easily and it’s too thick and heavy for wrinkles, not a cheap thin rug.

This shaggy rug is fantastic! It’s incredibly heavy (which helps it stay in place perfectly—no curling or shifting), and the pile is so plush and soft—walking on it feels like luxury every time. The quality is top-notch: durable, holds up great to daily use, and I can tell it’ll be a staple in my home for years without matting or shedding much. One thing to note: it had a pretty strong “new rug” chemical smell for the first couple of weeks (common with some synthetic shags), but it aired out completely after that—no issues now. Just unroll it in a well-ventilated spot or use a fan to speed it up. Overall, it transformed my space into something cozy and inviting. Worth every penny for the comfort and longevity—highly recommend if you’re okay with a short off-gassing period! ... show more

This is not my first rodeo with shag area rugs. I had one a few years ago in Ivory, made by another manufacturer. It looked great when it was new but after several months use, it became matted and discolored in the traffic areas of the rug. It was a total loss, the color had actually turned gray where it was matted and no amount of carpet shampooing made any difference. It ended up out on the curb, and someone actually took it! Lol. Anyhow, when I received this one, I could tell a big difference right away, it was heavy, really heavy. As I unrolled it, I couldn't believe my eyes, it has to be the plushest shag I've ever seen. Like $$$$, but I only paid $$$. Wow! It's beautiful and top quality! I read reviews about off gassing? What the heck? If you mean new carpet smell, I love the smell of new carpet, to me it smells new and clean,kinda like New car smell... but maybe I'm a weirdo? It doesn't have much off gassing smell anyhow, in my opinion. Now on to the color. Maybe it's subjective, or in the eye of the beholder, but this color called dark beige looks more like cocoa brown, or even taupe, and it's not really dark, it's kind of light actually except where the shadows make it look dark in places...hope that makes sense. It's got a beautiful sheen to it too. If your making a decision about color, this is what I'd call a safe color that will go with anything. I like it a lot, but I did like ivory better in my living room, but was apprehensive to go with that color again after my first experience. Had I known how good this carpet is I might have. It's a winner! I have pictures to prove it! Buy it! UPDATE! I have purchased the same rug in the color grey. Since I wrote this review, I purchased a new home, and have been here for a year. I brought the original rug with me, but I was getting a little tired of the color, and the rug itself was starting to look a little tired. It could have probably been revived, because it wasn’t worn out, I was just ready for a change. I’ll say the same thing about the grey color as others have said. It’s a wonderful blend of grey and taupe, or beige, they call it greige. I’m posting pictures of it with my wall, floor and furniture colors. My wall color is called Gallery Taupe by Behr. My floors are kind of a taupe/grey blend and the couch is grey. I think it looks really great together, although I accidentally ordered the 5x7 size instead of the 6x9 size I had originally. It works, but I may go bigger next time. This is a very well made, quality rug, but I’m a person that likes change, so I plan to swap these out to different colors every couple years. Still very happy with the product! The first 3 pics are beige the last 3 are grey. ... show more

5++++. I cannot say enough about this rug. I have purchased two in ivory. I have had them for over five years and still love them. In fact, when I sold my house, I had to agree to leave the rug. The ivory color is creamy and light and looks beautiful in my living room. It is so thick and lush. I get soooo many compliments from everyone. I purchased a wool pad for underneath which makes it all the more comfy. (The ivory is hard to keep clean with dogs though.) ... show more

I like the overall look and softness of the rug. What I did not like; the packaging and the size. The actual size is 93 inches wide, not 96. It is not a big deal, but where I placed the rug, a few extra inches would have been better. There is a warning on the packaged rug to open at the end and slide it out, just in case the rug has to be repacked for return. That must be someone’s cruel joke because after struggling for 30 minutes to slide the rug out I gave up. There was no way that rug was coming out of that plastic without cutting it up the side. The other thing is the ripples. The instructions state the rug will flatten out after a few days and that the rippling was just a temporary condition resulting from being packaged. That has not been my experience. After a week the rug still has some small ripples (it does not lay completely flat). Fortunately this is not really noticeable or a major factor because the rug is thick enough to mask the rippling. All things considered I like the rug and am pretty happy with the purchase. I just wish the manufacture knew that 8 feet, as advertised, is 96 inches and not 93. 😀 I am not qualified to comment on stain resistance or wear as I have only had the rug down for a week. ... show more
