I have bought Safavieh rugs before and I do like them. They are quality rugs and have lasted a long time. This rug arrived a day earlier than expected. I got the “Metro” Natural Ivory 8’ x 10’ 100% Wool. It does shed even after numerous vacuums but I expect that from a wool rug. I put a felt rug pad under it to keep it in place and to protect my smooth wood floor. The color is a little more brownish than I expected, but I like it nevertheless. The wavy pattern reminds me of a sandy beach. Quite nice! The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the size is not completely accurate. It’s 10’ long but only just under 7’ 8” wide. Almost 5” missing. I don’t mind too much but it could matter to some buyers. ... show more

Due to the effect of gray with cream, it gives a slightly greenish sensation, but it looks very good, the color is delicate and the drawing is better than I expected. It throws very little fluff, that is normal in a new carpet, it should not disappoint anyone. Regarding the smell, I have read many reviews before buying it. yes, it has a bit of a musty smell when you open it and if you stick your nose in the carpet. I think that's normal, because it comes wrapped in plastic and the heat does its thing. But let me tell you, I'm a smell freak and it doesn't bother me at all. it does not invade the house or the environment and over time I imagine that it will be impregnated with the beautiful perfumes of the home. quality is excellent.…. We love the design and colors. We bought several rugs from Safevieh before and have been happy about their quality. However this one has a very rough surface. So our cats assumed that we bought them a giant scratch pad… We never had this kind of problem before… Also, unlike the previous Safevieh rugs this one has a bad (farm like) smell which did not fade away after a week. I really love this rug. In fact my girlfriend and I absolutely want to keep it because it's beautiful. Here's the problem - it sheds like crazy. We've vacuumed it about 7 times already and it's still filling up the vacuum to the max... Design, size, quality - perfect. I just wish I could leave 5 reviews but return this product for a refund. The pattern is raised so it gives added interest to this rug. It's got beautiful shades of tan and cream. Absolutely love it. I also ordered a 1/2 inch pad since my grandbaby crawls around on it and it is very comfy. Highly recommend!

We had a nearly identical rug, that we loved, that we had previously bought in a store. In buying online this time, we had 3 different rugs show up that smelled terrible. In unwrapping them from the bag there was a terrible moldy/musty smell that aggravated everyone's' nose and lungs. After reading multiple online reviews about the expected odor, and improvement with time, we decided to give this last order a little more time to acclimate. After dousing the rug with baking soda and allowing it to air out outside for 3 days we have seen significant improvement in the smell. While there is still a hint of mustiness, it is not nearly as irritating to our lungs. In general, I don't think I would buy any rugs from this company online again, as this took too much work to make it usable. ... show more
