Bought the rug because we wanted traditional colors and style, with a decent pile. What arrived was precisely what we wanted. The colors are bright the cream is cream and not beige, the burgundy is burgundy and not red. The burgundy border with the cream center design makes an already large room look even bigger. The material is good and sturdy, will easily last years before it begins to fall apart. Laying flat: it comes rolled up tightly boung and then pressure wrapped, getting it to lay flat requires stretching carpet and placing books or other heavy flat items on it to get it to stay. Then vacuuming the rug a few times to allow areas that bulge to lay completely flat. This is normal. In our case carpet lays atop uneven Mexican tile (uneven on purpose). The style is traditional, not Persian or Oriental but it has plenty of movement in organic design of flower / leaf pattern. The pile is a decent thickness. Soft to the foot. We have high end wool rugs which were woven by hand and these which are machine woven, on the whole I found this to be a decently priced alternative for rooms with more traffic and overall use. It's a beautiful piece with good quality control. No smudges etc. I would recommend. Easy to get compliments as the rug is handsome without going overboard. UPS delivers which means they'll throw it on your doorstep but it comes securely wrapped and sealed. I would recommend laying flat, weighing down corners and center and letting it breath and stretch out between 24-48 hours before vacuuming. Overall purchase: Happy. Would recommend. ... show more

We needed a new rug but we cannot get out to buy one so we did the next best thing, we buy alot from amazon but this is the first time that we bought a carpet sight unseen so I checked reviews& looked . We did a good job & are entirely satisfied with the look ,thickness & it lies flat plus it came a day early & was packed nicely, we laid it out right away. Are totally satisfied . Love tbis rug . Nice quality rug for the price. The only problem is after more than a month on the floor, it still does not lay flat. There are humps and raised areas in numerous places. The worst was a "toe catcher" on a corner. We tried stacking books on it to flatten it out. In the end, we had to rotate the rug so the raised corner was underneath a couch. None the less, for the price, this is a very good value and it does look nice and bright. But be aware, if you plan to put it down and entertain visitors, it takes longer than the week or two they advertise before it flattens out. ... show more

The rug is fantastic. Soft, beautiful and seems to be durable. The only problem is Amazon's tracking system is 100% inaccurate - do not adjust your schedule based on Amazon's estimated time of your item's arrival - Amazon will disappoint you every time.

Re the 2'3" x 6', Red & Black: I am happy with the color, size, and softness, but the long edges are not perpendicular to the short edges. If it were on carpet, you might not notice, but on ceramic tile (3" squares), the short ends are very obviously not aligned with the grout lines. Where the rug was rolled the tightest, the fold lines are not going away (I rolled it upside-out for a couple days before deploying it in the room), and there are dark lines along those folds. Half the rug is perfect; the half that was rolled tightest will never match. Because the rug is in an upstairs bathroom, I’ll put up with these defects. It slid around a lot on the tile, so I used duct tape to attach a clingy rug pad; stays put now. Another issue is the way this rug showed up in a search including keywords “non-slip” and “washable,” which it is neither. I assume the very broken Amazon search engine was responsible for this. ... show more
