We purchased the 2’3” x 14’ runner in red, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve been wanting a vintage/Persian/oriental-style rug for a while, but true vintage rugs are way out of my price range. I’ve bought a few affordable alternatives over the past couple of years, but most were very thin with no pile. While nice enough, they just didn’t have the cushiony feel I love in a rug. I was hesitant to try this one after reading reviews about shedding, but I’m so glad I went for it. We originally wanted a 9x12 for our bedroom, but decided to test out a runner for our hallway first. After a week of use, I’ve had little to no shedding. I vacuumed it for the first time, and barely any wool came up. Maybe the product has improved since some of the earlier reviews, or maybe the smaller sizes shed less, but so far I’ve had no issues. The rug feels plush underfoot, yet still allows me to open my hallway closet doors without a problem. The colors are also true to the listing photos. If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it! We love ours so much that we’ll be ordering the 9x12 for our bedroom next. UPDATE: We ordered the 9x12 in green and brown for our bedroom, and I love it! It does shed a bit more than the runner, but still not enough to be a dealbreaker. We were also considering buying another runner for our bathroom, but we’re limited to about 26” in width. Since this runner is listed as 2’3” (27”), I decided to measure ours to see how accurate it was and it actually measures 28.5” wide. The length is true to size at 14’. It works perfectly in our hallway, but it would be too wide for the bathroom. Just sharing in case it helps anyone else with tight space requirements. These are great rugs! We’ll probably end up buying one or two more of these rugs as we continue updating and renovating our house.

It is a beautiful rag. the size 4x6 has still very well pronounced and detailed pattern and super vibrant colors. It makes a true statement in the room. Wool is of an amazing quality. Very thick and cushy to walk on. very well made. dense and thick wool. We like it very much. It had some smell to it upon the arrival so we needed to air it out on the deck but it was okay in two days and no more smell.

I was so afraid that I was going to be on the fence about the rug after spending $599+ tax. I am so pleased with the QUALITY and the BEAUTY. This was worth every penny, and quite honestly, I feel that it should have cost more. I apologize for the mess surrounding the pic as I'm still moving our living room around, but you get the idea. Hope the image helps. And honestly, the picture doesn't do it justice. This rug is thick and a family heirloom as long as I can keep it looking beautiful. No shoes allowed!!!

I knew to expect a difference in colors in person and sure enough the colors are muted, dull, “muddy” looking compared to all the photos online. Disappointing but once rolled out and set up it’s growing on me. This is a quality rug nonetheless. It’s soft, thick, pattern is straight.There are a couple spots where white fibers show but not obnoxiously. Unless you’re looking for it it’s not anything that stands out blatantly. This is the first rug I’ve ever purchased and can’t imagine ever buying a non-wool rug now that I see how nice wool is. Does not shed like others have complained about which was such a relief. Company explains that when vacuuming a wool rug to not use a beater bar. Yes, there’s loose fibers when vacuuming but nothing excessive. *Important to note that the 9 x 12 that I purchased was actually 4” shorter in width and a few inches shorter in length too. Buyer beware! But the company did work with me and has very good customer service so I decided to keep it vs sending it back. Also, zero creasing even though it was folded once in half, then rolled. I was worried about creases but not one crease. I think it’s because it’s wool and not plastic that’s used in synthetic rugs. Overall it’s a great quality rug. Not perfect; has its flaws but otherwise I’m happy with it. Just wish the colors were brighter and the size was true to what I ordered. Note: the picture I posted makes it look a lot brighter than it actually is.

Great thick rug with perfect colors for my lodge. This wool rug yes it sheds, but I have a vacuum. After you vacuum it a few few times the shedding should be reduced. Colors are as stated on the website and it it arrived without any odors promptly. This color hides the dirt also. I bought three of these one for each door I have, as well as one for the center of the room. My grandkids like doing exercises on them Very soft, feel and cushy. Great value for the money! I love Safavia rugs I put a nonslip padding under the large one just so it wouldn’t move, but it didn’t really move much without it

9x12 Grey and Navy. This is my third rug from this company so Im not being critical. I love this brand! The other two shag rugs are still amazing after years. This wool rug is very classy looking and true to size. However that shedding is unbearable. It looks like we have a big shedding dog and we dont. It clogs up my vaccuum when I vaccuum so I try not to vacuum but still giant fur balls are all over. It seems the fibers were never glued or attached and it will keep shedding forever. Its too late to return. Update.... 2 years later. Still bad shedding. It still looks beautiful and is soft and pretty. I love it as much as day 1 but somethings terribly wrong. The shedding is unbelievable. It's just my husband and I in a small ranch. No pets, no kids yet this thing is becoming like a part time job. Did I just get a lemon? All my other rugs from this company are absolutely impeccable. Hey Savaveih.... can I swap this one out for the exact same thing? Somethings wrong. Update nov 2025. It's been nearly 2 years and the wool is clogging up the vacuum everytime. I googled to see if this is normal ( see response below) its not normal. I have a bad rig. It's so darn pretty and still looks good but this shedding is outrageous! Heres what google says " While wool rugs—even high-quality ones—are known for initial shedding, it should definitely have subsided after two years. Here are the most common reasons an expensive wool rug might continue to shed excessively: 1. Construction Method is a Key Factor The price of a rug doesn't always reflect the method of construction, which heavily impacts shedding. Hand-Tufted or Hand-Hooked Rugs: These are often the culprits for long-term shedding. In this construction, wool tufts are punched through a backing and held in place with an adhesive/glue backing. Over time, this adhesive can break down, causing the wool fibers to loosen and shed continually throughout the rug's life. Hand-Knotted Rugs: These rugs are woven together with structural integrity and are generally the highest quality. They should not shed significantly after the initial phase (a few weeks to a few months) unless the wool itself is very low quality or the rug is damaged. If your rug has a canvas-like backing glued to the back, it is likely hand-tufted and may shed indefinitely as the adhesive degrades. 2. The Quality of the Wool Even if the rug is 100% wool, the quality of the wool fiber matters: Lower Quality/Short-Staple Wool: If the wool fibers used are short (short-staple), they are not tightly spun into a strong yarn. These shorter fibers break and work themselves loose much easier, leading to continuous shedding. Highly Processed Wool: Wool that has been heavily processed or treated (sometimes to enhance brightness) can have compromised fiber integrity, making it brittle and more prone to shedding.
