This is my 2nd rug from this company. I bought the first rug in 2020 - a white one for my living room - planning on it being disposable. I have kids and figured they'd mess up the rug pretty fast. To my surprise that white rug is going on 2 years now and looks like new. This is real carpet, not the fuzzy rugs that are so trendy right now that shed right into the vacuum cleaner from day one. This carpet is heavy, vacuums well, and does not shed at all. I just bought a 2nd larger rug in tan. The tan color has some lighter color woven in so it's not 100% solid tan, but it's also not the tie-dye effect that is trending in cheaper rugs. I can honestly say that these are the nicest area rugs we have ever purchased. The price is right as well. This is my second Safavieh shag rug, I had the Hudson shag rug in ivory and grey for the last 5 years and it held up beautifully. Hides stains and dirt very well. When I went to search for my next shag rug, I wanted more of a off white color that wasn’t bright white. This rug in ivory is more of a yellowy color, so sadly I had to return. If you have this rug next to furniture that is bright white like I do, you can really see how yellow it looks in comparison. I took off one star for the color but the quality of the rug is perfect. Super soft and fluffy on your feet. If you are looking for more of an off white color like I was- try Safavieh Royal Shag rug in cream. I can’t explain how beautiful this rug is. Pictures just don’t give it Justice. I have already spot cleaned it and it turned out so beautiful. It’s so easy to maintain and the softness is amazing. I haven’t had this rug for very long, but I already love it. It’s soft and cozy feeling. It flattened out immediately. There are no curled edges after I put it on the floor. There is definitely a noticeable odor from the new materials and it being winter, I am reluctant to open up the windows and air out my bedroom as much as I might at another time of the year. However, this is not a huge thing. As for cleaning, I understood that an upright vacuum with beater bars is not appropriate on this deep pile and I really don’t notice it holding dirt, but I use my floor vacuum wand and there doesn’t seem to be any issue with cleaning.
