INITIAL REVIEW: Soft; plush; shedding won’t be a problem if it’s vacuumed regularly. We added a pad under each rug. Excellent value for the cost. UPDATE/3 months later: I have NEVER had to deal with so much shedding. Safaviah wrote that we may be “over-vacuuming”. Are you kidding me? The wool hairs are EVERYWHERE throughout our great room. I don't know why this product get good reviews. First of all, I ordered the light blue one, but when I receive it, it looks more like light grey!! Also, it came dirty...probably it is an used and returned item. I do not understand why some reviews say it is soft, it is not just not soft....but very rough in reality!!!! When I step on it, I feel like I am walking on a sand paper! I cannot image putting this in my nursery room for a baby. Moreover, the rug sheds a lot! I only rolled it open once and rolled it back because I decided to return it. And my whole floor is FULL of shedding dusts. Beware before buying this rug that you may end up with sheds of rug fibers all over your room. I have had rugs shed before, however this takes it to a whole other level. My children's clothes and hair was covered in rug fibers, which came out in bunches. Vacuuming didn't help much, so I got the smart idea to brush the fibers with a hair brush. This was tedious work for me and the children. My children and I gathered the fibers into a little ball, the picture is about 1/4 of all the shedding I gathered from this rug. Brushing helped a lot, yet the rug is still shedding each day. It's too much of an inconvenience for me to return at this point. The rug I bought was 8’ x10’. It’s not. You can see from the attached pictures it’s more like 7’7” x 9’10”. People’s consideration to buy rugs of a specific size is important, based on the room size, placement relative to furniture, etc. In my case, the foot traffic and wear on my floor has created a distinct mark along the edges of the old rug. I made sure a 8’ x 10” rug would adequately cover the old area. But because this rug is a few inches shorter than advertised, it shows the discoloration of my floor (not a pretty sight!). I can’t imagine other pieces of furniture (table, dresser, etc.) would be sold for imprecise sizes. I had notified Amazon of the incorrect product information. Other reviewers complained about the shedding. My rug was delivered on 10/7/2020 and I laid it down a couple days later. Anticipating a new rug would shed its “hair” initially, I vacuumed thoroughly right away. There was A LOT OF shedded wool in my vacuum cleaner’s container the first time. Since then, it has been vacuumed a couple more times. Today is 10/20 and it continues to shed a lot of wool. See pictures of my Dustbuster. ... show more

    • Lots of shedding

I ordered 3 different sizes. Very pretty but black is very hard to keep. I vacuum daily anyway but these rugs shed because they are wool. I was told by a specialist wool rugs shed for 6 months. I like them but the back of these carpets are done in black and white check. As you vacuum besides the shedding there are white pieces that are coming thru the carpets i'm not too happy about that. Hopefully these rugs won't fall apart. I wouldn't be so bothered by the shedding but the white spots don't come out unless you get down and pull these pieces out.
