We love this wool rug, but don’t use it for its usual purpose. We have hard wood floors and wanted an area for our cat to roll around. We do have scratching posts, but she loves to dig her claws into this rug and scratch at it, which we are ok with and that’s why we continue to buy it for her to scratch at. She loves to lay on this rug and get pet as well. We buy one of these rugs at least once or twice a year. Having another item for our cat to scratch at instead of our couch, has saved our furniture. We like the beige/ivory because it’s neutral in color and goes well with our grey couches. Like others have said, it does fill up the vacuum cleaner with fibers, but I feel that most rugs do that. This rug is the best alternative for us and will continue to buy it. It’s a good value for the money as wool rugs can be expensive and glad they have this rug on Amazon! I prefer wool rugs for their durability and higher pile and this rug checks those boxes. I also like the look of this rug since it’s minimalistic. Looking at the product photo, I guess it appears a little darker in person, but it’s perfect for us. My room isn’t super bright, so the color would look a little different in bright light. I use a non-slip pad underneath, but might be ok without it, since the rug is heavy enough. ... show more

I normally understand that wool rugs can shed during the first months, but this rug has been shedding excessively far beyond what should be considered normal. Months after purchase, it still produces huge amounts of fibers and lint — enough to repeatedly clog and block our Dyson vacuum during regular cleaning. We have used the rug under normal household conditions and followed proper care instructions. What disappointed me even more was the manufacturer’s response. Instead of offering any meaningful support or goodwill solution, they simply referred to a strict 30-day policy and classified the issue as “normal wear and tear.” The rug itself initially looked beautiful and felt soft, but the ongoing shedding problem and lack of customer support make it difficult for me to recommend this product at this price level. Buyers with strong suction vacuums 🙄the seller suggests to vacuum clean the rugs every 7-10days (especially Dyson-type models) should be cautious. Forget for a second that it was an adventure getting the 9’x12’ rug into my house (from the porch) and then laid out under my large dining room table. Self is the woman! The packaging also gave me a bit of a struggle, meaning the rug was packaged very effectively. So far I can say that the rug meets my expectations: it’s thick and comfortable, plus the color matches the images shown. The workmanship is also as I expected and so I think it will have longevity/durability. For all those reviews that mentioned that it sheds… well, for one, that is what hand-tufted wool rugs tend to do for the first 3-6 months. This one actually did not shed a lot and I vacuumed it as soon as I placed it. I think at the price I paid, this large rug is a great deal. (All I need to figure out now is how to dispose of the 9’ hard cardboard roll the rug was wrapped around). ... show more

I ordered 3 different sizes. Very pretty but black is very hard to keep. I vacuum daily anyway but these rugs shed because they are wool. I was told by a specialist wool rugs shed for 6 months. I like them but the back of these carpets are done in black and white check. As you vacuum besides the shedding there are white pieces that are coming thru the carpets i'm not too happy about that. Hopefully these rugs won't fall apart. I wouldn't be so bothered by the shedding but the white spots don't come out unless you get down and pull these pieces out. Will this rug just fall apart in a few months? Wife not happy really. It is now 2025 and the rugs are pretty much shedding still and backing is showing on all pieces. Very poorly made. I had a custom black with ivory accent rug at my entranceway for 25 years. I loved it. Traffic from pets and normal foot traffic discolored the ivory to an unsightly view. Years of cleaning no longer returned it to the rug I once loved. I needed the new rug to be a "true" 4'x6' without skimping partially on the size. I started looking for the size, color and quality I wanted and found this SAFAVIEH . I read many reviews about this one shedding but knew wool rugs/carpet initially do shed. Some said theirs arrived with an odor or stain/s. Even with those negatives I decided to see for myself. I'm so glad I did. Mine had NO odor..and note: I am VERY sensitive to odors. Mine had NO stains. It was a true 4'x6'. Does it shed? Upon arrival there was some noticeable shedding and quite a bit more when first vacuumed. I have had the rug for about six weeks and vacuum every day. Shedding now only seems to take place when the rug is vacuumed. The shedding has reduced by at least 80%. Would I recommend this rug. ABSOLUTELY! It's a thick wool rug well worth the bargain price. As a final note: the rug I purchased was sold and shipped by Amazon so I knew I could return it without hassle if I was not happy. The carpet is ok, has the wool smell, had it for half a year, there is still some wool smell but it doesn’t bother me. Every time vacuum can see blue fi ers in the vacuum, but the carpet is thick so no big issue
