It isn't meant to be shaggy soft, so the star rating of soft I believe is misleading. It is a very thick, lovely wool rug. It is not scratchy! I love it under my feet. I have multiple savafeiah wool rugs with two dogs as all poly/jute/anything else smelled and needed to be replaced every year because the dogs bring in clay. I love it however, this rug is lighy yellow, it is not ivory or cream. The picture looks alot lighter than the real color. We still in the midle of remodeling and we can paint the walls in a matching color, we decided to keep it because it simply stunning, it add "happiness" to my kitchen 😍😁.
