It was clear to me that the rug was covered in mold before I even opened the plastic. Still, I thought maybe I could clean it. This rug is a disaster. There is no question that the person who picked this order saw and smelled the mold yet chose to ship it to me anyway. You put the health of the UPS driver as well as me and my kids at risk. Now I'm trying to return this thing and it is nearly impossible. I'm trying to get the message to Amazon that this product was shipped to me damaged and I don't want to pay shipping to get a replacement. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH AMAZON. Now, I'm trying to deal with UPS to schedule a pick up. (Also nearly impossible because none of the phone numbers they gave me are not working numbers). When orders go right, Amazon is pretty great. I bought this to use as a stair runner, and I do like it. I used the tutorial from This Old House called "How to Install a Handsome Stair Runner", and it went on easily and looks great. Very soft under the feet too! I took away a star though because it is only 26.5" wide, and it is supposed to be 2'6" which is 30". That is a pretty big difference. It still worked fine for my stairs so I used it anyway, but part of the reason I got this one was because it was supposedly wider than a lot of the others I found. I didn't measure the length but it was plenty long enough to do my 13 stairs so that must've been fairly accurate. Update Oct 2018: a bit over a year later, I am still very pleased with this as a stair runner. It has held up well even though it is such a light color. We go up and down it a lot every day as it is our main staircase and we've also had several contractors going up and down it in their boots. It vacuums up quite well and the irregularity of the "antique" look helps hide any dirt between vacuumings. I've attached a second picture so you can see how it has worn. This rug is perfect, I love it. I also own 2 other (smaller, 5x7) rugs from this collection and they are great, too. One of them I’ve had for 7 years and it’s still good as new. But this rug specifically: I was nervous about buying a 9x12 rug on Amazon since I know that size often gets folded. Sure enough, this rug arrived folded up so small, and super creased after baking in hot trucks for days. I unfolded it and became even more stressed, until I noticed the tiny instruction page that had fluttered to the floor: “unfold immediately and roll, leave rolled for 24-48 hours. Well, it worked! 48 hours later this rug is perfect and I couldn’t be happier! Photo is almost exactly 48 hours after delivery. I added a rug pad since this one feels *slightly* less plush than the 2015 version, but I would still buy it again in a heartbeat. Puppy approved! ... show more

Beautiful, but after a spill, the entire rug is ruined. I soaked up the spill, but the sides buckled and now there is permanent ripples going out from the the center. I'm very disappointed.

I purchased the 8x8 carpet in Ivory and Silver for $135. The colors were true to the photos however I was disappointed with the quality. Though the fibers feel soft, the pile is very sparse and short (see photos relative to a quarter). There is some backing fiber showing around the edges too. I'm using it in the office just as a cover to protect the hard wood floors, I wouldn't put this as a center piece or use in high traffic areas. For the price, the quality is passable, I would suggest investing in a better carpet if you're looking for something more substantial. There is still a new carpet smell after a full week but it's flattened out alright. ... show more

Writting this review 2 years later. My last photo shows the current condition of the carpet which is still perfect! It's a little dingy and could use a steam clean but considering I live in a house full of boys and no one removes their shoes, I have had 2 dogs on this carpet and lots of friends with babies, lots of parties and plenty of spills. I haven't professionally cleaned the carpet yet just used a simple hoover steam cleaner every few months as needed and it's held up amazingly well. It's not faded or torn or shedding. I'm sure I could easily get a few more years out of this rug! Highly recommend it! ... show more

It is a whole room rug, 9 x 12. It came rolled up 9 ft long. It was horrible because it was rolled with the backing to the outside, so did not lay down at all, a real trip hazard at the edges and allot of lumps. So I reversed it, rolling it so the good side was to the outside and rolled it along the long side - so it was 12 ft long. I put it in my hall overnight night. This rug is exactly what my bare tile floor needed in my living room. It was delivered a day early in one long 10’ roll. I had already ordered a thick pad based on reviews of it being a thin rug. I rolled it out in the morning and put my furniture on it late in the evening. A tip for buyers of thin rugs with wrinkles. I placed one of those black and yellow containers you get from Costco or Lowe’s that was full of moving stuff on the rug. Then, during the day, at intervals push the container down the length of the rug. By the end of the day the 14’ X 10’ rug was wrinkle free. I did have to put some weights on three corners. The color and design was exactly as shown in the photo. I won’t know about cleaning for a while or any issues with spills or stains. I do recommend that you spend the money and buy the thick rug pad that is suggested on the web site. Also, for the price, I got what I wanted and don’t expect it to last for ever.
