So, over time my hair has grown lighter (not grey but white) and picked up a yellow tinge. Happened so slowly I didn't notice it. The hubs bought this for me and after the first use I could see the difference. So effective. There's not much scent to it: maybe a little floral which is nice. I work up a good lather and leave it for maybe a minute. That said, it's not for every day use. Maybe once a week depending on your water? Too often and your hair takes on a pink/purple hue. The downside? It's thin and the top is not flip-top and the bottle stands on the cap so it tends to leak. A deep purple stain.     • Best shampoo for gray/white hair.
As far as the container goes I just poured some of the shampoo into a traveling shampoo bottle with a snap top lid. This is by far the best shampoo I have ever used for my gray/white hair. I have fine thin hair and this absolutely has added some volume along with shine and beautiful color.

I really like the way my hair felt after using this shampoo. And it worked really well at toning down the brassiness I was developing in my gray areas (not fully gray). BUT! The way this bottle is designed makes it very messy to use. It comes out almost like water and the bottle is not designed to stand up on its own. Even lying it on its side it seemed that product was still leaking out. I really like the way the shampoo worked but am seriously thinking of putting it ian another package - it will be easy to pour. ... show more

I have white/grey hair with very light blonde on the longer lengths growing out. Have found this shampoo is perfect for my needs. Helps to negate the brassy on the blond and enhances my grey to look more silver and shiny. Love the slight scent. Can't attest to the softness as I use a conditioning hair mask afterwards but this shampoo is as effective as it advertises. My only complaint and why I took off a star is the cap situation. Purple shampoo tends to just ooze all over (regular shampoo may too and we just never see it like the purple) and you have to immediately put the cap back on before you even get the shampoo in your hair because the bottle doesn't stand on its own. I will deal with it because this is excellent purple shampoo but the manufacture should address this. ... show more

I have silver hair and recently had an issue with a lot of yellow deposit. I’ve been using purple shampoo & conditioner for over 15 years, but it wouldn’t touch the “pee yellow” I was getting. My hair dresser suggested this and it worked! It’s like a super purple shampoo. It hasn't taken absolutely all of the yellow out , but has toned down all that brassy yellow way down to a manageable off white. It’s thinner than regular purple shampoo but more vibrant of a purple.
