It leaves the head of the screw about 1/2" above the surface,regardless of depth setting. I cut the hexhead off of another driver bit to make a spacer, and it goes all almost flush,but then the plastic on the collated screws grabs the shaft and unseat it from the tool. I bought this to expedite a deck project and keep me off of my 62 year old knees. It's useless for either. I'll be returning this garbage, and suggest you not waste your money on it ... show more

It is an excellent tool and anyone who says otherwise should only study more how to use it. Today I used it and finished a box of a thousand screws in 1 hour and 25 minutes. It is great.

    • Time and back saver
The people rating this product aren’t using it correctly. It works great. You need to learn how to adjust settings at first and once you do it works great! I’d give it more stars if I could. I use this for screwing down backer board and it saves me time and way easier on my back and knees.
