The back panel provided for this unit is made of cardboard like material. Very flimsy. I would have rated this unit higher if the back panel was made out of similar particle board. We ended up cutting a piece of 1/2" plywood which we painted white for the back panel. This strengthened the cabinet. Also, the pictures of the cabinet made me think it had 3 long shelves. Wrong! It has one long shelf and 4 cubicle shelves. We also made 2 additional full length shelves out of particle board. I would recommend buyng this cabinet only if you have handyman skills to strengthen it. ... show more

I like the cabinet. Glued dowels as suggested by other reviews. It’s sturdy. Having issues with the doors. Having issues with one being crooked and dragging.

Rough start. The day before my cabinet was due to arrive, I checked the shipping status and found our the original cabinet was damaged in transport and returned to Amazon and my money was due to be refunded. I called right away and had to request a replacement be sent immediately. I'd read reviews that the box was very heavy and some people had damaged cabinets delivered to them. When the 2nd pantry arrived, it was heavy but I appreciated the solidness of a manufactured wood. It took about 2 hours to put together. The other negative review I'd read before purchasing was that some people showed pictures of the doors being crooked. Once my doors were on, the left was fine, but the right door was crooked. We put a wedge under the front right side of the cabinet - wallah! perfection!! This pantry is just what we wanted for storing food. ... show more

There were several quality issues with the piece I received. At the legs the white laminate was peeling off and needed super glue to lay flush. A chunk of particle board fell off near one the shelves, and the doors did not line up straight. For the price I paid, I expected better quality. I bought this in part because of Sauders reputation. It seems a bit pricey at approx. $300 for particle board furniture. However, I’m still pleased with the purchase. It came well packaged with no damage. All parts accounted for. Great assembly instructions that were easy to follow. Took me about an hour to assemble and that was taking my time. I’m using it as a linen cabinet and really like the depth of the shelving. Seems pretty sturdy for particle board. Would have given it 5 stars if price was lower.
