I've been assembling a lot of furniture lately, and this was probably the most painstaking to get right, although the end result was fine. First, the material is very heavy, although not as sturdy as some lighter pieces with finer-grained MDF, because the material is a very coarse-grained particle board. So, for example, when locking the cam pins in place, you have to be careful because the cam hole may actually distort when tightening because the material isn't strong enough. The instructions were pretty clear, and not too hard to follow. Unlike most other furniture assembly kits I've done recently, there were NO extras in the hardware, except for 1 extra nail (of 36). So don't lose anything! While most cabinets have pre-drilled holes and screws to attach the back panel, this just uses nails and provides no guide for the locations (you just have to measure it). Based on some other reviews, I was very careful to make sure that the cabinet was completely square before nailing on the back panel (especially to prevent skewing that would affect the doors), and that seemed to work out well. The back panel, while not very heavy, is important to the stability of the cabinet. Location and alignment of the doors turned out not to be a problem, given the adjustment options in the hinges. There was initially quite a gap between the doors, but after making a series of adjustments I was able to get them squared up and aligned properly, and have them come together very nicely in the center. The end result looks nice (just like the product pictures) and seems fairly sturdy, but this one just didn't have the level of engineering preciseness and material quality that I've recently encountered in other assemble-yourself furniture. ... show more

Absolutely LOVE this piece! Very heavy duty and sturdy. I purchased because I know Sauder products and they have been around even 30 years ago when I worked in a furniture store. I still have a couple things from that long ago. At first, the doors wouldn't align like most complaints. After letting a contractor friend look at it, he said the flat back piece was most likely not nailed on correctly, he was right! We took it off, squared it up and re nailed. Doors were much better, they have adjustable hinges, so we made adjustments until they were perfect. Overall, the wood is very sturdy and heavy. I love this piece and was so happy that enough adjustments could be made to straighten everything up. Sidenote, I did have 2 pieces damaged but I called and they fed-ex'd them within 2 days. Very helpful and friendly customer service. I have the matching desk, which is absolutely beautiful and now ordering another side library piece. Definitely recommend but but you need to know a little about furniture assembly, luckily I had a friend who knew exactly what I did wrong. Also, as per previous comments, there is no way this was 137lbs, easily over 200lbs they should ship in separate boxes-only other complaint. It took 3 people (and we struggled) to move it. ... show more

Literally broke as I was lifting it up to position it. All screws were tight and everything was in place. I am devastated because it is very pretty. But put it together with it standing up. I was really excited to receive this piece as it is to be my pantry. My family members have two similar models - same company and they are really happy with them. Per my pictures, the center boards pre drilled wholes for the shelves to sit on where not symmetrical and thus the shelves did not sit evenly. The other issue was that the door hinges would not align properly with the pre drilled holes. I contacted Amazon who offered to remediate the issues. I could either dissemble the item completely for a full return. This took about 1.5 hours to construct. I could wait to the manufacturer to send replacement parts, meaning I’d have to pull out nails, and dissemble 5 steps back through the instructions to fix, or a 22% return. I opted for the 22% price return as I was not wanting to spend more time dissembling it to receive my money back nor did I want to dissemble to put in y e a replacement piece. The particleboard on the back would be a nightmare to remove and replace. I was appreciate of the responsiveness from Amazon, but I feel that I should have been provided more options due to the manufacturer errors. All in all, if you receive good materials this would be a great purchase. Plenty of space, attractive, and structurally the outside is sturdy. ... show more

This storage cabinet is absolutely beautiful! I searched for weeks trying to find a cabinet for our bathroom remodel that would fit in the 36” space where our old shower used to be, and I am thrilled with this one! My husband assembled it without any problems, no missing parts, and everything lined up and fit as intended. I now have extra storage for our bathroom essentials that used to be stored under the sink or in our closet! As you can see in the picture, the top two shelves are stationary, the others can be moved to fit your storage needs. The quality is exceptional for the price!
