  • Great tool
I have replumbed countless hoses with this tool with thousands of crunches and have very minimal failures. Ryobi is the only manufacturer who makes a pex cynch power tool (to my knowledge) so this is the one to get. It makes setting cinches on pex pipe simple and quick without tiring out my hands. I bought an extra in case they ever stop selling it! ... show more

  • Well built and works great.
I am a DIYer and was looking for a cordless Pex pinch clamp tool. Did I really need one? NO. I already have a manual ratcheting Pex clamp tool for my RV that is plumbed with Pex but I am in the process of remodeling my master bath and am going to use PEX so it is an excellent excuse to buy one...plus I like tools and gadgets. I purchased the tool only, along with a battery adapter so I can use my DeWalt 20V Max batteries in it. This tool is well built and has some weight to it. It does not feel cheap and it has a nice beefy feel to it in your hand. FYI, This tool is for the PEX pinch cinch clamps, the tool pinches the clamp from the side. This tool is NOT for the Pex Crimp clamps rings , the tool that goes around the whole PEX clamp and squeezes it down. The tool works great and cinches the clamp tight. The great thing about using this tool is that you only need one hand to make the crimp. You can hold the PEX pipe tight against the fitting with one hand and use the tool with the other to make a perfect crimp. With the ratcheting hand tool you need both hands to use the tool. I really like this tool and recommend it... ... show more

  • It works as advertised!
I had to replace a water manifold distribution panel in my 5th wheel (RV) - entailed about 9 PEX connections in a very tight space. I have a manual PEX clamp tool, and have used it in more open spaces - however it takes alot of arm strength and you can't use it in confined spaces. With this Ryobi, I was able to line the head of the tool up on the clamp, pull the trigger and let it do it's thing. I've had zero issues with it so far, and no leaks from any of its' connections. I did also buy the battery adapter so I could use my Makita 18v battery system and not have to start over with Ryobi - worked great! ... show more

  • Plumbers dream
This thing is amazing I use it on every rough in job and it has sped me up a bunch and your hands don’t hurt at the end of the day. The only downside is it’s ryobi so you are gonna have to get a adapter if you have real tools and sometimes if your not on the ring just right it won’t clamp all the way slightly annoying but doesn’t do it that often. Also the crimp tightness isn’t adjustable from what I can tell you can check the gap but can’t adjust it or maybe you can it just doesn’t tell you how anywhere in the manual but I’ve probably ran 10000 rings through it by now and it still acts like it’s new definitely would recommend to plumbers who do a lot of waterline ... show more

  • Love it but…
I love this tool but occasionally have leaks even though the gauge tool indicates that it’s properly calibrated. Do not trust it, be sure to double check every connection after you pressurize the lines. I would recommend it but with caution.

  • Works perfectly for all size pinch rings even up to one inch
When I first started working with pex we used copper crimo rings and I can't say I ever had a leak when the ring was installed properly. However, unless you have multiple tools set up for different sizes it's a hassle changing the cramp head on the tool for different size pipe. When the pinch clamp came out it solved that issue as one tool could pinch the different sizes of rings. The only issue I found was as the ring size increased so did the effort needed to make the clamp. When I got to one inch rings it was most difficult with a hand tool sometimes almost impossible. When Ryobi introduced their battery powered pinch clamp tool at a reasonable price it was a blessing. I have found this tool handles all sizes with these. Being a larger tool sometimes it is difficult to get into a tight area, but for the majority of the time it works great. I will say I don't use Ryobi batteries. I simply purchased an adapter off Amazon that allows me to slide in 18 Volt Mikita batteries instead as our battery powered tools are all Makita. If you're doing PEX and doing any quantity of piping I highly recommend this tool. ... show more

  • JUST GET IT!
Worth its weight in gold! Paid for itself after one service call. Now one hand can hold the ring in place and the other hand operates the tool. Also get the battery adapter ($15) to fit your preferred brand and you won’t need to buy the ryobi battery and charger.
