The media could not be loaded. Plain and simple, this is it. A good 'no nonsense' camping light!!! This light looks and feels solid. I have looked for good affordable camp/Tent light that is waterproof, lightweight, will last long and reasonable in price. I have found and bought one. This pear shaped light has a green 'glow in the dark' rubber switch on top of the light. It comes with its remote control powered by coin battery CR2025. The white light is truly white and not a cream 'off whiteish' or even white violet tint kinda light. The white light has three steps of brightness. The lamp also has a lime yellow light that has two steps the lower step is more yellowish in colour while the brighter step is more lime greenish in colour. The light doesn't seem to repel mosquitos per se, but will not attract them when the yellow lights are used. The advertisement reads that the lamp is waterproof; but ironically, the manual reads keep away from water. I guess it meant don't immerse it in water. Well I am not courageous to try deeping it to test. It does look to be rain and splash prove. While charging the lamp, it flashes a semi fast intermittent cool red light like a vehicle turn indicators does. The manual warns that it may get hot, but it doesn't get hot but just slightly warm as most electronics does while charging. I used the remote from distances and it remained effective from 1m (3.28 ft) to 12m (39.37 ft), the response didn't fade. Well, I will update on these initial thoughts as I continue using this lamp. Watch the videos and photos I have uploaded for more insight. PLEASE NOTE: Descriptions, comments and ratings given are my personal opinion on this product, I have not been paid to give my opinion. NEW FINDINGS: I found that when the light is switched off for extended periods (days and weeks), the remote control wouldn't turn the lamp on anymore, THIS IS NOT A FAULT the system just went into a sleep mode. You will have to bring the system out off the sleep mode by the switch on the lamp itself after that, the remote control will start responding again as normal. I have virtually put this lamp through some rough usage and it wouldn't give up. I have used it in a lite rain then forgot it outside my tent on, I was very well blown away when I woke up in the morning and found the light was STILL ON even with the night dew covering the entire light were it hung. Now that shows I did buy a very good light. I will order some more so my wife will have hers and I get to have one to my self. By the way, today being the 2nd of January 2019, I wish you a very blessed year ahead when ever it is you are reading this. Thanks for reading and God bless! UPDATE 31tst May 2020 I hope you read this in peace amidst the covid-19 pandemic, or as a survivor after it has left us in peace. Nothing much to add but to say my pear light is still going strong. The burn time hasn't diminished significantly. I would estimate 7 to 10% less burn time. During some power outage in my home. While I used it I unfortunately droped the light from a one storey building (by mistake that is). The white plastic cover cracked but it is still functional. I think I lost its waterproofing due to the hairline crack. Well, it still works but now I keep it well away from water. I am particularly surprised that the battery still holds its charge long enough well over two years of relatively constant use. Just buy one, if you haven't already; you will be glad you did. Remain safe in God's cover! He will never fail, but can he say the same about us? mmn?

I have finally used this light in the field. I found the remote control useless since I could not get it to work. Thank goodness the light worked flawlessly. The mosquitoes were exceptionally awful where I was camping. The yellow light in the dim position was priceless. It worked every time I manually turned it on. My only criticism of the design was that it sorely needs more gripping surfaces. While it is clever and nice to have it look like a "real" light bulb, it is not the best shape to hold in the middle of the night. More gripping surfaces are needed. I gave it 5 stars because the quality of the build (and yellow light function) is exceptional. While the bulb shape gave off exceptional light in all directions, it was hard to grip what subtle grips were built into it during the night. I dropped the bulb several times on all kinds of surfaces and it continued to function without fail. I also liked the dim blinking red light when charging. Instead of guessing when it was charged, the blinking light stopped. Very nice.

This light is very light and compact. I have already used it on a motorcycle camping trip to Mount Nebo and it worked fantastic. The multiple brightness settings are great, and the yellow bug light option worked really well.(see picture) The remote worked great and was very convenient to be able to turn on and off, or adjust brightness from outside the tent, and no leaning up to turn it off when going to sleep. Just hit the power button and sweet dreams! I also dropped it on some rock with no damage, so it seems very durable so far. Can’t speak to battery life yet because it was only on for less than an hour. And with it being rechargeable, I don’t have to worry about carrying batteries on the Harley.

I really like these lights for camping, I used 2 (one remote works both) and they were bright and held a good charge. I would charge them during the day with a solar charger. So why not 5 stars? I think the description is a bit deceptive and they even offer a free light, yet you can never sign-up. They say it has a mosquito repellant yellow light, but it is really like any bug light, it doesn't attract the mosquito's (as opposed to actively repelling them). I knew this would be the case (and it does state exactly that in the instructions), but I think it is deceptive. The other reason, is the battery life is quite a bit shorter with the yellow light (not sure why, I am sure there is a great technical reason :) ). In short, if you are buying this for a camping light, this is a great light, just don't expect it to get rid of mosquitos :)

I wanted a secondary light source at camp, other than my headlamp. This lamp is just great. Just hang it up in my tent, and keep the remote in my pocket, and I can get on about the chores of the evening. Night comes and I just tap the remote and my tent is lit up perfectly. The "medium" setting is great for all the light I need inside the tent. For outside the tent, I use the yellow function, and it really does perform well without attracting bugs like my headlamp will. An unexpected benefit is stowing the remote in my tent's inner pocket...no more fumbling around in the dark to try and find the switch on the lamp itself. Just reach in the pocket and tap the remote. Very convenient, light-weight, fully functional and multi-purpose addition to my gear! I also appreciate the fact that they left off the magnetic back during the design...the added weight of a magnet would make it less appealing. As it is, the couple ounces in my pack go unnoticed. Highly recommend!
