This is handy for sharing USB peripherals like keyboard and mouse to multiple computers. I bought this to share my keyboard and trackpad between my Mac and my Raspberry Pi (and even to my Mister FPGA once I can make room on my desk!). Easy to set up, and the remote control is handy - I can hide the switch behind my monitor, and use the remote to toggle between machines. Do note that even though it comes with a USB-C cable to provide power, it does not come with the actual power brick or wall wart. You should be able to find one here on Amazon that should do the trick, but it's an added expense. Try it without power before making the purchase, you may not need it at all! ... show more

This review is for the 4 PC, KVM switch with HDMI inputs/output. First off, the price is right. Seems to work fine. Had some static on HDMI output, Included HDMI cables might not be super well shielded but it's working OK now. Cable mgmt is pretty awkward on a desk, since you have cables coming both out of the back and the front, while the 4 PC switching buttons are on the front. Kind of makes the desk messy with cables streaming out of the front. I place it on top of one of my desktop towers under the desk, sideways, to mitigate this issue. ... show more

I just tried 3 different 4 Computer USB switches (including this one). DGODRT B09W94MP9D: USB 2.0, light weight plastic, reliable, good buttons. Rybozen B09BTSH2HW: USB 3.0, plastic, gimmicky IR remote, good buttons, failed to connect flash drive. KCEVE B092YSB89D: USB 3.0, metal, reliable, buttons ok and in rectangle pattern, USB 2.0 speeds. I tested with mouse, keyboard, webcam and flash drive: DGODRT: Worked fine (USB 2.0) Rybozen: Fine for keyboard/mouse, but flash drive never finished cycle of connecting/disconnecting. KCEVE: Copying large files gave slightly slower USB 2.0 write speed, but fast USB 3.0 read speed. Consider what you'll be sharing with the switch. I don't plan on connecting & disconnecting a USB hard drive or flash drive, so I only did that for testing. I may not even keep my webcam on the USB switch. I care most about just switching the keyboard & mouse. USB 3.0 speeds are only necessary for heavy data operations like copying files (ie: flash drives or hard drives). Edit: The KCEVE gets slower write speeds with provided cables, but faster write speeds with better cables. ... show more

The ad says it's a "KVM" switch, but that's not really accurate. There is no video component. It's just a USB switch, and in that capacity it does just fine. I use it to switch my usb keyboard, mouse, and headset across 4 separate computers, and it works as expected.

This review is for the USB 3.0 switch selector for 4 devices. I went with this brand and model because I could share 4 USB 3.0 devices and other brands supported only USB 2.0. Another important factor for me was that this model has 4 push buttons to select a device directly rather than looping through all of them to make a selection (which means all your USB devices would get briefly connected to your systems while you loop to choose the right one). Now, at $50 this is one of the most expensive USB selectors of its kind, but then again, not many of them have 1 direct select button for each device, support for USB 3.0, USB cables and a remote control. About the remote control, I have not used it but if it might come handy if you place it where you cannot easily reach. For me, I have it right next to my keyboard. I use this to share mouse, keyboard, camera and a USB flash drive between four computers and it worked flawlessly for several months. One day suddenly it stopped working but it was still under warranty so I emailed Rybozen support and they sent me replacement. I did try calling first but no one ever picked up the phone and there's no way to leave a message. Fortunately the email request went through and I got my replacement. And talking about the warranty, there is a QR code included with the documentation in the box that allows you to extend it to 3 years. I do recommend doing that in case your unit fails like mine did. Note: Not sure why the title of the product says "4 Port KVM Switches USB Hub Peripheral KVM Switcher Box". This is not a KVM switch (no video port, only USB ports). ... show more

We were using a regular USB KVM device with the various ports on 4 sides and buttons and lights on the top. That was a messy solution for where we had it and we bought this device to replace what we were using. We like it. Its inexpensive. Inbound VGA and USB are on the back, Buttons to select are on the front. It works well in the cabinet where we are using. If I had to recomend something I'd recommend it be sold with combo USB/VGA cables (it only came with USB) and that the lights on the front be a tad brighter. All that said, I would buy it again. I would have paid more for this device if had included the USB/VGA cables. ... show more
