  • Ease of installation and use
Size: 1 Camera - Y27-N
I would like to say this set up works great . Crisp clear picture easy to hook up on my trailer . Yeats ago I bought an expensive Voyager camera set up and 1 1/2 years later it got water inside and made it useless .. so I’m trying this it’s way cheaper . I believe I spent 600.00 for that camera and screen . This camera and screen was 1/16 of the cost if I get 1 to 2 years I will be real happy, but this camera so far is supremely better . I had a question when I was setting it up so I reached out by e-mail and I got a answer immediately and they were over the top helpful and got me all dialed in and said reach out for anything I needed help with . And then followed up a couple of days later to check on me .. Now that is customer service .. again for a 1/16 of the cost .. these guys are great so glad I got my camera from them . ... show more

  • GREAT Yakry backup camera system and a MUST HAVE for your RV!!
Size: 1 Camera - Y27-N
GREAT Yakry backup camera system and a MUST HAVE for your RV!! Product works very well and is as easy to install as advertised. The installation instructions are clearly documented and provide the step by step approach for an easy installation. If your RV/trailer has a Furrion mounting base the provided hardware and wiring makes it easy to install the camera. As shown in the attached photo of my monitor screen, I adjusted my camera so I can see the back of my trailer (spare tire in photo) and then the view for about 25 feet beyond the back of the trailer. Very good for backing into camp sites and knowing where my trailer ends or for seeing vehicles behind me in my side rear view mirror blind spot. I’m very pleased with the ease of installation, quality of the video display, menu setting features and price of this product. Highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Easy setup and great picture.
Size: 1 Camera - Y27-N
A very nice camera and monitor package. Everything was included to test and install the system. It was installed on our tow behind RV and I don't know how we ever got along without it. It was easy to install and has lots of options to select from on the large screen. It made our last trip a lot less stressful. We can now see everything going on behind us. Perfect. ... show more

  • Good value for money
Size: 1 Camera - Y27-N
Good camera for the price. Has a clear picture and easy to set up. Has a little of a lag when driving down the highway but works great when backing into a camp site.

  • I LOVE this camera system!!
Size: 1 Camera - Y27-N
This is a fantastic camera system! It includes everything you need for installation and it works plug and play right out-of-the-box. It is super easy to install in various configurations and being wireless, you don't have to string wires to it. I used it for awhile with the one camera that it came with and I liked it so much that I decided to add a second camera to the system. I ordered the second camera and it arrived quickly. It was very easy to pair with the system and worked first time. Now I can look at the monitor and see camera 1, camera 2 or both cameras in a split screen. Two additional cameras can be added for a total of 4. It has a very intuitive menu system and even includes the ability to record. You can set it to record camera 1, camera 2 or both cameras. As long as it is powered up it will record even if the screen is turned off. It records to an SD card and uses a compression scheme that allows it to hold quite a bit of footage. You can set it to loop record and it will always have the most recent footage available in case you need to review it. The night vision is fantastic. Of course with night vision it is black and white using infrared lighting but it is extremely clear and will allow you to back up in complete darkness! The day vision is very vibrant and displays a great 1080 color picture. There are numerous mounting options available depending on your needs. There's an instruction sheet that includes all the information you need plus some additional online help. When I was testing this before installation, I took the camera into the basement and to the other end of the house just to see if I could get it to lose connection and it never did! In summary, this is a great system and I can highly recommend it! My philosophy is that, for a rating system to be effective, the highest rating and the lowest rating should be reserved for a relatively small percentage of the best and the worst products. I DON'T take into consideration prices or issues with shipping. I stick to a fair and honest evaluation of the product itself. Following is each of the five categories of *stars* and how I assign them to a product: ***** Five stars - Exceeded my expectations. I really love it! **** Four stars - Met my expectations. I like it and recommend it. *** Three stars - Average- some pros but some notable cons. ** Two stars - Disappointed- few pros and too many cons. * One star - Terrible! Stay away from it! I don't often give five stars for something unless I really love it, and I rarely give one star. Hopefully this helps you to understand why I gave my star rating to this product. Thanks for reading my review! I hope it has helped you. ... show more

  • Excellent camera
Size: 1 Camera - Y27-N
I've had this camera for one year. It is an easy install. I removed the Furrion plate from our trailer and it's a direct plug-in. I added electrical tape so it would not become disconnected and to help keep water out of the connection. I used stainless steel lock washers so the bolts stay tight and rust free. The screen is large and easy to see. I can also see 1-2 lanes on either side of me which eliminates the need for extended truck mirrors. The color is unbelievable. Crisp and clear. You must manually adjust the camera to your liking, meaning how far behind your unit you would like visible. Move the camera up or down, jump back in your unit and see if that distance works for you. It took me twice to get it dialed in but after that, I've never touched the camera. Some people like seeing just their hitch, some like seeing the vehicles behind you. NOTE: Make sure you are plugged into the trailer and your headlights are on. This is a great camera and is superior to the stock Furrion system at less than 1/2 the price. ... show more

  • 55 foot rig. Camera worked Flawlessly! So thankful for this unit!!!!
Size: 1 Camera - Y27-N
Waited until we had used this product for a cross country haul before writing a review. We have a one ton GMC and a gooseneck Lakota LQ RV/ 3 horse slant. We are 55 feet long and because of the poor reviews on the older units I spent time and read lots of reviews on the Web before purchasing this camera. Dear hubby didn’t think we needed it, and I decided if we were swapping driving duties and I needed the peace of mind to be able to actually see what was drafting behind us in the blind spot or creeping up the right side, or knowing we were clear to back up or complete a turn.... then I was going to just go ahead and order the camera. It arrived well packed and on time. We have LED running lights on the trailer above the back doors (just below the roofline) hubby and our trusty mechanic removed the center LED unit and wired the camera into that slot and it mounted in flawlessly. We never lost signal with the camera to the monitor. Not once! No matter how fast we drove, through horrific downpours in the Midwest, or in the dead of night. (Camera goes into greyscale mode and the black and white is perfect at night.) We never mounted the monitor in the truck. We barely got the camera installed before we had to hit the road. We just leaned the monitor against the dash behind the cup holders in the console It never moved and we could see it perfectly. After driving with it for a day or two it was not distracting at all. I enjoyed being able to check my mirrors and the monitor before changing lanes or exiting ramps. My worst nightmare hauling is the idiots who refuse to yield onto the highway and when you’re hauling something that big you cannot see them and you can’t make sudden course changes, add in a live load (Horses are precious cargo!) and “the other guy” who doesn’t yield becomes a deadly menace. If you’re wavering, don’t hesitate. It took less than an hour to install. The picture on the monitor Is clear and sharp. We did not find there was any Interruption or delay in the image feed. We typically stayed between 65-75mph on the clear, flat open highways. Our mechanic was super impressed with this unit too. We haven’t had time to set up the ‘back up grid lines’ yet, we will play with that now that we have more time. We didn’t miss having them activated. We will be contacting the company for a free additional camera which we plan to install in the trailer to check on the horses if need be (the manufacturers offer a free extra camera in the product packing paperwork) Great product! Our only regret was not buying one sooner! Hubby absolutely loved it and agreed that it made our trip much less stressful. I would hate to think what we would have gone through in one or two of our stops where things were super tight and we had to back out to get back on the highway.... even if one of us had to get out to be certain we had a hairs clearance to get turned around; you could always see the ground person as a marker in the cameras line of sight. (Practice that in case of parking mayhem!) Great product! ... show more

  • Viewing Angle NOT As Claimed
Size: 1 Camera - Y27-N
I bought and tested four backup/rearview cameras; Yakry, Amtifo, Rohent, and Dohonest. Each of their viewing angles varied, but none of them could be considered “wide-angle” cameras. None of them could be used as BOTH a back-up camera AND a rearview mirror camera. That is; 1) the camera could be aimed down to include seeing your RV’s bumper, but it would only see back 10-25 ft and couldn’t see traffic behind you (unless you were at a stoplight or were a millisecond from being rear-ended), or 2) the camera could be aimed to see the horizon and all traffic behind you, but it would only see forward a short way and you couldn’t see your bumper. In other words, every camera could only be used as a back-up camera OR a rearview camera, but could NOT be used for BOTH functions. Put another way, none of them compete with Furrion cameras. You get what you pay for. I have seen other reviewer’s photos of their camera monitors for some of these cameras and the viewing angles were much better than what I experienced, but as I mentioned, none of the cameras I tested performed that way. I’m not sure why that is. The manufacturers claim viewing angles of 120º, 150º, or even 170º, while one just says “wide-angle”. I measured the viewing angles and distances. Here’s what I found: YAKRY: 84.3º horizontal viewing angle, when aimed to see the bumper the vertical viewing angle would only see rearward 11.1 ft from the bumper. AMTIFO: 89.4º horizontal viewing angle, when aimed to see the bumper the vertical viewing angle would only see rearward 13.0 ft from the bumper. ROHENT: 93.5º horizontal viewing angle, when aimed to see the bumper the vertical viewing angle would only see rearward 15.3 ft from the bumper. DOHONEST: 105.2º horizontal viewing angle, when aimed to see the bumper the vertical viewing angle would only see rearward 26.5 ft from the bumper. None of the viewing angles were anywhere near the claimed viewing angles. Not even close. Talk about false advertising! Each camera’s 7” monitor had a great, high-def, 1080, picture and the setup Menus were very close to each other. The menu functions varied and some functions didn’t work as advertised but the system was still useable. The adjustable green, yellow, red distance graphic was only useful when the camera was aimed at the bumper. This function was worthless if the camera was aimed higher to include traffic behind you. All of the cameras had the necessary parts to connect to the Furrion-ready housing and wiring. All of the cameras were easily installed in less than 30 minutes. But the limitation in the viewing angle of every camera forces you to make some decisions; - Which camera to buy? (The Dohonest has the best viewing angles.) - Use the camera as a back-up camera? - Use the camera as a rearview camera? - Do you even want to buy one of these cameras? (I’m returning them all!) If you decide to buy one of these cameras and are thinking about which way to aim it—back-up or rearview—consider this. If you count up all the hours you will be driving your rig, how much time is spent driving on the road versus how much time is spent backing up? I think you will get the most out of the camera as a rearview unit. You’re going to be able to see that guy who is tailgating you before you hit the blinker and start to slow down to make a turn, or change lanes. Whereas if you’re backing up your partner can hop out and help or you can get out and check your clearance yourself until you get it parked. To me, the consequences of a mishap at 50-60 miles per hour with other vehicles moving at the same speed all around you far outweigh bumping into a parking stanchion, tree, or other vehicle at 1 or 2 miles per hour! One option you may consider is this. A couple of the manufacturers offer additional equipment at no charge. All you have to do it ask for it. You could get an SC card, a side-view camera, or even an additional back-up/rearview camera for free. So why not mount two cameras on the back of your RV; one aimed at the bumper and one aimed at the horizon. Because every one of the cameras have monitors that can show up to four cameras in the system. This way, you could have your cake (a back-up camera) and eat it too (have a rearview camera, as well) and it’s still much cheaper than a Furrion. ... show more
